I mean yes & no. No because she does want kids, she just doesn’t want to admit it because she is scared. She’s already lost a child and it broke her, it completely broke her & she couldn’t do that again.
gotta say- i feel so damn bad for people who didn't watch Private Practice and cant understand the depth of emotion and tragedy behind Amelias words. Her baby was born without a brain and lived for only 43 minutes. Thats what she means when she says she was already an amazing mom and are you here for *that* And it didn't happen off screen in some tragic backstory. It was the heartwrenching finale of PP season 5
But also this aired in 2016 which is the same year Caterina had a baby born with Down Syndrome. I guarantee she was tapping into some personal emotions (speaking from personal experience...my cousin is the sweetest soul that ever walked this earth but that diagnoses doesn’t come without emotions for the whole family) in this scene when she said “it might be wonderful and it might be painful and it might be both”.
this brought back so many memories of Private Practice when she broke down to Sheldon about her baby! 😭😭 wow! amazing acting Caterina. I truly felt her pain and I'm not even a mom! 😭😭😭😭👏👏
"And when you have a child, you might not get what you want. You get what you are given. And it might be wonderful, and it might be painful, and it might be both."
This is what Owen does when he doesn’t get his way. He suffocates people until they snap. I’m so glad that Amelia found Link and got the baby. My girl deserved happiness.
THIS scene, wow. Really emotionally intense and heartbreaking! Caterina is such an amazing actress! I knew already that Amelia would get so much hate again, but I think she has a point here. Owen wants a baby so much, he's kinda obsessed with it, it seems like he didn't see how scared and traumatised Amelia is. And why didn't he say something when Amelia asked him if he would be there if they wouldn't have a healthy "normal" baby. But I also have to say Amelia bringing up Cristina was a low blow. However the way they looked at each other in the last scene says it all, they love each other so much and I still believe they'll make it through this. But I hope this happens before the season ends, the writers have already dragged out this story for too long.
Totally agree. I'm really getting tired of this constant silence and/or barking at each other. I love them as separate characters and as a couple, two broken souls, their backstories, the hell they both went through, the pain, suffering and all the things, what makes them so strong and resilient, I appreciate it and it was amazing, but please. They deserve a much better storyline. I loved his and Cristina's story, how two people who love each other so much still can't be together because love is just not enough, and their relationship was consuming and painful, but the story was much better executed than what they're doing now with these two ... Owen deserves to have some bromance for once and some buddy to hang out with (making up with Riggs maybe, I honestly don't care who it is). And Amelia ... They are killing her character. I don't blame people not liking her after the couple of episodes, it's been so tiring, more like a soap opera than the good old Grey's.
TRUTH! You basically brought up everything I believe about this situation in one paragraph :) The only thing is that Amelia REALLY should bring up everything that happened with her last baby to him. I can't even imagine how hard it is for her to talk about it, but he does deserve to know. He just needs to understand why.
This scene is really amazing. Emotional and heartbreaking. Owen wants a baby so much. Amelia is still so traumatized by the baby she had that was born without a brain.
Men even I love Amelia a lot, I’m with owen in this one.... I can’t imagine how hard is to spend monts without your wife and she doesn’t even spoke to you.. owen was so pacient
Everybody knows that Owen wants a family! So why are they having serious engagement with him? He fights for all of them and he gets nothing in return due to psychological problems! He is able to deal with his personal problems while the others are immature to handle themselves!
Owen deserves better. One can't help but feel as though he brought this pain upon himself when he chose Christina over Teddy. He would still be happy. He would probably have a family. He wouldn't be stuck in a constant cycle of trying to fix damaged women. Teddy should come back and he should make the right choice. Amelia is NOT it.
Kennard White doesn't love count? He was in love with Christina now he is in love with Amelia. Teddy is a past thing..in terms of lovers. She is more of a best friend now..or someone very very dear to owen and that's it.
I'm watching this again after watching the scene between Link and Amelia having baby conversation... So much difference! Link cares about Amelia more than Owen ever did and he's not even married to her...
I honestly believe that Amelia could have had a child with Owen if he hadn’t rushed her and took the time to listen to her concerns. I am however glad that she ended up having a baby with Link, he is the better man in my opinion.
She did. There's no excuse for going so hard and bringing up Christina. However, Owen was basically trying to bully Amelia into having a baby with him when she was clearly terrified of the idea. She already had one child die before an hour had even passed after giving birth to him. She was scared of that happening again and he just wouldn't hear her. That's enough to make anyone blow a gasket.
this baby-drama storyline is honestly handled so stupidly! I mean, in the very first Omelia scene I remember (there were some before probably, but this was the first meaningful one) in 11x11 they sit together in the chapel after the death of Samuel Avery and Amelia says "My baby lived for 43 minutes" And two seasons later they act like they just completely forgot it or like it didnt even happen?!! Owen knew all along so why he suddenly acts like Amelia is a monster because she doesnt want a baby and up until the scene in this video she acts like theres no real reason for her unwillingness to have one? I would say the characters in the show are horrible, bacause they dont communicate about their feeling and problems, but this is just dumb writing!
You think "good writing" means all the characters getting along and everyone being so communicative? This is reality. People fail to talk it out, people are stubborn and people suffocate each other. The writing is amazing.
One of Amelia's main character flaws throughout her entire stint on both GA and PP is that she bottles up her emotions and refuses to deal with them until someone pulls it out of her somehow. It's one of the main reasons she turned to drugs and became an addict. Her acting like there was no deeper reason behind her decision to not have a baby is just another instance of that. When she feels hurt or scared, she shuts down. That's not bad writing, that's character continuity and it's great. Amelia and Owen are both very damaged characters that have trouble communicating their feelings because of their pasts. Everything about this storyline was well-written and respected their individual character arcs.
No, I get it, I know they have communication problems. I have nothing against the characters. What I'm angry about it is the fact that they actually DID communicate about it, but the writers act like the scene didn't happen. Owen knew from 11x11 that Amelia's baby died.
@@zajaacLuLu but also confirmed that Amelia wanted a kid. It was a dealbreaker for him, if it wasn’t he would have stayed with Christina. Yes it is heartbreaking and Owen should have had more compassion but I don’t really notice a route out of this other than the tumor plot line.
When she married him they were on the same page. She only realized the truth about her not wanting kids after she realized she was happy about not being pregnant and faced her fears about the loss of her first child. I honestly believe that she did not marry him intending not to have kids and hurt him the way he's been hurt in the past.
When she said she wanted kids I believe she meant it. And she still might have kids after she faces and overcomes her fears and realizes things may not be perfect but it's still worth taking a chance.
Is it a dream to have a family? It is normal to want a family! I think humanity is dealing with ethical and moral crisis! Some people want a family, some others don't! Everyone is responsible for personal choises!
cryssye sorry for the late answer. The 1st song is called anger by sleeping at last. But i dont know the 2nd songs name. Sorry if i made any mistakes, english is bot my 1st language
Some parents can´t handle to get what they are given and not what they want and walks away. Taking a long hard look at world I ask this, who are the ones who mostly walks away and who are the ones who stay? You can fight for equality but the truth is that when it comes to having children nature itself prevent equality and woman are vunreble in a way men seldom understand. Before men like Owen start blabbing they should sit down and try to understand what that vunrebility cost woman!
I think I see both sides though I mostly stand by Amelia but when she asked Owen why he wants a baby some people just know same as some just know that they don’t want one
I hate Amelia! She should've never brought Cristina into this. I hate that Owen is looked like a villain for wanting a baby! I would be so lucky to find a man who wants a baby, who wants to be a father.
I really don’t understand Owen, i mean he already knows that Amelia’s son died (11x22) so why he still pressure Amelia to have one. Amelia is traumatized and she is in pain. Owen should understand her and help her, but no he wants a baby. I don’t know I think that this Owen’s obesession with child is the reason why every relationship went wrong. A baby won’t complete your person or is the sense of life, so leaves Amelia alone please!!!
I absolutely love this scene. And I think Amelia is right. But what I love the most is that Amelia finally makes Owen (and the audience) think about why he wants a baby (or why anyone wants a baby) because I think it's such an interesting topic and also relevant. If you don't want to be a mother or father it should be your decision to do so. Nobody should feel pressured to have kids. And I love Grey's Anatomy for talking about such great topics. I'm sorry if I didn't express my thoughts that well but English is not my native language
This is Owen and Cristina all over again!
Lol
Nah, it’s OWEN all over again. He keeps doing this.
Yes
I mean yes & no. No because she does want kids, she just doesn’t want to admit it because she is scared. She’s already lost a child and it broke her, it completely broke her & she couldn’t do that again.
"That's not a marriage. Not one that's gonna last." And my heart broke into a million pieces. That entire scene made me cry so much.
gotta say- i feel so damn bad for people who didn't watch Private Practice and cant understand the depth of emotion and tragedy behind Amelias words.

She belongs with Owen
but Owen didn't knew what happened to Amelia, he only wants a reason to understand why she used to want a baby but now not
I love her !!!! “ you get what you are given and it might be wonderful, it might be painful and it might be both” YESSSSS..
THIS scene, wow. Really emotionally intense and heartbreaking! Caterina is such an amazing actress!

0:34 Bailey is like *oh shit* again with the drama
omg the scene in the stairwell. caterina is INSANELY TALENTED. love her to pieces
Owen Hunt is Ross Geller of Grey's Anatomy, who couldn't stop his Rachel from going to Paris 😔
#crowen
This scene is really amazing. Emotional and heartbreaking. Owen wants a baby so much. Amelia is still so traumatized by the baby she had that was born without a brain.
She was out of line in the first scene but the second scene was perfect. The acting was insanely good tho.😍
Emma Cluff you are right ... She had no right to bring up Cristina
She wasn't being particularly reasonable, and it's understandable. I don't condone it, but I understand
Rebecca Washburg people say things they don’t mean when they are fighting and upset. It’s just the way the brain works.
Men even I love Amelia a lot, I’m with owen in this one.... I can’t imagine how hard is to spend monts without your wife and she doesn’t even spoke to you.. owen was so pacient

Oh Amelia, she's so terrified, that's why she's pushing him away so much. I really hope this is going to turn around and they can make it work.
“You don’t get to call what is normal! YOU DON’T KNOW!” That hit me like a ton of bricks.
This breaks my heart!!!!!
this story is so perfect and interesting °° lovely acting by Caterina
This is why you talk about your expectations in a relationship before you get married.
Mikaela Way he wanted a child from the beginning but she didnt show any problems with it until later
Ugh. Owen deserves happiness. Please, Shonda. He deserves to be happy!!
The performance in this Sense is really fact
Ohhh at 0:09 you can hear Kevin McKidd's real accent peaking through! I think it's sooo cool how ha can just switch between two so different accents
Owen deserves better. One can't help but feel as though he brought this pain upon himself when he chose Christina over Teddy. He would still be happy. He would probably have a family. He's the one who gets people stuck instead of letting them go
i now just realize how owen is that guy you think you want but the more you get to know him to more u notice how toxic and selfish he is
Poor Owen... at least he has babies in the other seasons =)
“How suffocated she was”…. Insert the clip
OMG I’ve seen every single episode yet but I’ve seriously never seen this scene ONG what the hell went wrong?!😱
Amelia went way too far in the first argument
jordan proudfoot thank you!

Bringing up Christina was a low fkn blow. Not ok Amelia. Owen did not deserve that at all
Get a divorce because if you guys both don’t agree with each other then that marriage will fade and fall apart
Now why did she marry him if she would turn around like this? Very intense scene!

ughhhhh just let them be happy, why do they have to be miserable
Does Amelia not want a baby or is she just scared
Greys Anatomy Amelia she doesn’t want a baby because she’s scared she’s still traumatized by the baby she already had and lost
Owen needs to understand she lost a baby.....
She had a brain tumour at that time, that's why she behaved like that.
cancion del final?

Claudia Moral she said that she would have loved to ask cristina how suffocated she felt by owen's needs
wait what happened before this scene?
I think I see both sides though I mostly stand by Amelia but when she asked Owen why he wants a baby some people just know same as some just know that they don’t want one
he didn’t know that she had a baby?
Manoela Beatriz no..she was scared of telling him that part of her life. She only talked about her bf's death from both of them using.
Izie Valo ‘’every man i ever loved in my life has died. including my baby’’ she said to him, once.
Manoela Beatriz In which season?
Which episode?
Alexandra Blanco González 11x22
Manoela Beatriz Thank you very much😊

That wasn't Amelia talking. It was her brain tumour.
He is not a good partner. He wants what he wants and if he doesn’t get it… he acts like a 10 year old
I can't stand her character!
