Leaves were falling, just like embers In colors red and gold they set us on fire Burning just like a moonbeam in our eyes Somebody said they saw me Swinging the world by the tail Bouncing over a white cloud Killing the blues Now I'm guilty of something I hope you never do because there is nothing Sadder than losing, yourself in love Somebody said they saw me Swinging the world by the tail Bouncing over a white cloud Killing the blues Now you ask me, just to leave you To go out on my own And get what I need to You want me to find what I've already had Somebody said they saw me Swinging the world by the tail Bouncing over a white cloud Killing the blues Somebody said they saw me Swinging the world by the tail Bouncing over a white cloud Killing the blues
Her tone on this reminds me of Daniel Lanois' playing. Makes me wonder if she'll get into producing someday. Love the dog on the sofa looking up at 2:04. Lucky dog!
I wonder what the dog is actually thinking!? It's so funny to think. wow these two weave their voices together so beautifully (my thoughts not the pooch)
You should check out Shawn Colvin’s cover. This version and Shawn’s version are similar. Shawn’s will always be my fav, but this is a beautiful rendition, too. Gorgeous sound.
This is only the third version of this song I’ve ever heard. It’s lovely. Next week I’m seeing Alison Krauss and Robert Plant in Franklin, TN. I hope they sing this song. They introduced me to it. (First version). So I pursued it, because it was beautiful. I then found out Rowland Salley wrote it and so I listened on UA-cam to his version (my Second version). Something about his voice and his voice control brought me to tears on my front porch one night. Anyway, your lovely version sends me back to the porch tonight to hear it again. Thank you for loving this song.
Great cover, great vocals. Terrible guitar mixing. Too much distortion on the electric and too loud in the mix. It steps on the vocals and acoustic guitar at points. Still loved it though.
Name a better combination than Madison Cunningham and the Fender Jazzmaster ❤
Madison is a rare talent, but she also surrounds herself with equally talented musicians!

It's a great way to draw people to her music. I first heard her sing with Molly Tuttle.
what a beautiful arrangement......and those vocals ! OMG......These talented women make this sound like a lullaby........

While you're checking out different interpretations, be sure to try out Malcolm Holcombe's version: ua-cam.com/video/jZSGs-7jvHw/v-deo.html
Here’s to songs on the porch, especially late at night. As for the tears, just let ‘em flow. Sadness, gratitude, all of it.
There's a lovely version by The brothers Comatose and Meaghan Maples too. It's very different but I love them both !
Holy cow!!! Beautiful
Just so beautiful !
Good lord. So good, Madison.

Outstanding. Alison Krauss and Robert Plant do a great version of this song as well.
What about Allison and Madison singing a duet? Yeasts, please.
Lovely. (Please credit the accompanist. Wonderful harmonies.)
When T-Bone Burnett got Plant and Krauss to do this song, i think he was hoping for something more like this.
Cheers to the engineers 🤙
Well, I have been educated! I always thought it was a John Prine song. :) Also.... Another Jazzmaster????????????
Roland Salley played with Chris Izaak
Does anybody know what type of guitar madison is playing?
Looks like a Fender Vintera 60s Mod Jazzmast. SG www.thomann.de/gb/fender_vintera_60s_mod_jazzmast._sfg.htm?sid=a5b777e109f579236f47b3551d8865bb
@@edeledeledel5490 🙏 Thank you!!
Has anyone figured out the chords to this? The mic is frustratingly in the way
@jollytunes Thanks
🥲
when I saw killing the blues, I thought she'd play some killer blues lol
Not the live sound though.
Great cover, great vocals. Terrible guitar mixing. Too much distortion on the electric and too loud in the mix. It steps on the vocals and acoustic guitar at points. Still loved it though.
