Thanks Bruce they seem to work really well. My only problem now is that I need several tonnes a month, so I'm going to have to work on a different solution. Not sure what yet!
Great to see the results Matt! I’m glad the aeration pipes worked to get water into the middle. To get the scale, are you thinking of replicating the composters so that you have compost at different stages? I know that will be quite hard work to maintain, so I will bend my mind to thinking how that can be done without needing to clone you! The grubs look enormous - are they a potential source of food for chickens, ducks etc? Another terrific video - and thought provoking as ever. You are always on the go!
Hi Tony @TonyDownes01 Its always a pleasure reading your comments because they often mirror word for word my own thoughts - like the grubs being used for chicken feed and the scalability issue! I've seen multibay compost heaps work well but they need a lot of manual labour (like a lot!). There are some permalculture technicques using mounds of compost in large chicken pens that scale really well and that could be an option. There is always a concern about chickens attracting snakes. I am going to have to think on it for a little while. Thanks so much for your ongoing support Tony really appreciated. Sending best wishes to you and the whole family.
Hi @lifeinlongislandvc314 Thanks for the info - I think in future I will collect these and use them for chicken feed for one of our locals. Thanks again for the comment!
Hi @ppkgaming210 Thank you for your feedback and support for this small channel, and trolling is not the intention. This is a cheap, easy to build, lightweight compost Bin that produces great compost. It can be built by anyone at different levels of strength, without struggling and can be built to any size to fit the space available. I would say thats pretty useful!
Looking good 👍
Thanks @EighthSphere1 its a start!
I like those inner tubes for Water and Air

50 50 ratio ordinary soil and compost very effective you make hot compost only 18 you may harvest easy
Thanks for the comment @user-iq9ee7xu9m I hope we can harvest easy!
Those larvae are grubs, they like to eat roots. So it is not a good but for gardeners.

@@TheSmartGardenRomYenHouse That is a good idea. My chickens love them.
Is this guy trolling us with rickety compost bin? 🙄
