I would add the angle grinder with a diamond disc and a diamond milling tool for those curved cuts. Very informative and useful video. I wish I had seen a video like this when I started out.
Grinder for cutting tile around the toilet flange. I use the cap from a 1 gallon RedGard water proof membrane as my template for the flange, perfect fit.
I own many cool tools because of your videos! I bought the Wale Tale, diamond hand pads, polishing pads, the RTC RockStar blade, and best of all the Dewalt D24000. I'm slowly getting really good at this trade. Your videos have truly helped me. Thank you!!
Yea, I didn't realize how much I needed the Whale tail til I brought a non setter friend to help me and he was shocked at how much dust I inhaled, now I won't mix without it.
tools missing that are essential: Mixing whip, Buckets, Sponges, Microfiber towels, Grout brush or toothbrush, grout saw or razor knife, sheetrock knives or flat trowels, corresponding tile blades per material for both the saw and grinder, hole saws for corresponding size holes under 3", oscillating tool for flush cuts on trim for flooring and blades, sawzall for demo work, hammer and pry bars, assorted bits, wood hole saws, often have to remove a water stop to get a nice tight cut on a plumbing stub out so adjustable wrenches, slipjoint pliers, cold chisel comes in real handy, rotary hammer for demo work with chisels and bits, 8' level for large areas, 6' level for medium areas to get a survey on floors and walls, or same size straight edges, these are all tools I use throughout my jobs.
I’m about to install tile and wanted to make a last check for items I needed. So glad I saw your video as I had overlooked a few items. 👍👍 I would add one optional item: tile suction cup tool. Makes it a little easier when back buttering
Grinder is a must have , toilet flange cut outs , scribing , i don’t know about you but I run my hole bits on a grinder they last longer than the drill variation but that’s more personal preference
Very helpful video! Thank you. As other’s suggested, you seem to have forgotten the attachment for the drill but I guess it’s not a tool per say, although not at all free
This video helps, recently got into tile installing with my neighbor cuz he has his own business and I hope to do the same, I’ve seen all these tools I just don’t know which are the best brands
Thank you very much for the Skill saw recommendation, it's just what I needed. Before watching this video I thought I would have to rent or at least buy a much more expensive option.
I put grinder above table top. it does almost all the same things imo, and better to save up for a sliding saw. those table tops sometimes knock the back off of glass tiles and also the water guard can become mis aligned very easy and catches on mosaics. I find I do most work with my snapper (cutter) and grinder and need the wet saw less and less these days
I have a cute lil 7 1/4” chop saw with a 60 tooth blade for cutting my schluter edging. Small easy to haul and the blade is cheaper than a 10 or 12” saw.
Wish Australia had cutters like that, did all my apprenticeship using grinders to cut floors and walls in that couldn't be cut straight on a manual tile cutter, so much dust.
I would add diamond hole saws to this list for plumbing, just the basics for toilet supply lines and faucet and shower head. Other than that....great video for the beginnings
I see a lot of videos on hole saws and never owned one. Been doing tile all my life and have only cut square holes with wet saw or angle grinder. I just find it easy to cut a square I guess and every escutcheon plate always covers so never found the need to drill round
Go Berg! You've inspired me to get a few supplements for my setup that has been a tremendous help. You the man. P.S. Althpugh those diamond sanding pads & files are great, (I love them) I think a grinder would round out the top 10 before that sanding pad.
Here is a pro tile tip for everyone. Once you destroy the spring in your tape measure by getting it wet and it rusting. Take that tape measure and pull out the first 40 or so inches and cut it out and keep it while you throw out the housing. Save that length and keep it at your tile saw and use it for your cuts. Now it can keep getting wet while your good tape stays inside the house. Soon you will ruin your second tape measure and do the same thing. Now keep this section in the house. Now you will only use your good tape for measuring rooms etc. You use that short section to drag around on the floor with you. It becomes a lightweight flexible tape measure.
I measure and mark all my cuts with a "tape stick" . I keep several different lengths for different size tiles, 13", 25", 36". I cut old tapes like you said or buy cheap 5 dollar tapes and cut them. I couldn't work without them.
Facts! My dewalt grinder is always with me. It’s impossible to make cuts around valves without a grinder. Unless you have a diamond hole saw set. And even that can’t cut everything a grinder can. You can set a whole floor with an angle grinder if you wanted to.
How would you cut out a hole for piping in a shower or for toilet flanges with a grinder? Lol it’s up there with a saw and mixer in terms of need for tiling.
Grinder is essential, can keep it in the same room your doing a shower for example, whenever I gotta cut an 8th off that’s what i use. Although I’ve honestly never seen the table top saw I’m intrigued
@@mattburke9991 I agree 100% that you wouldn't use a grinder on Glass tile even a Wetsaw doesn't give it the cleanest cuts. But any Tile Setter that doesn't own a grinder is Wrong on so many levels.
They are all about the same, the link in this video description of the green 60 grit is a diamond pad holds up well. IQ also makes one that holds up well.
It may not seem like a tool but get quality knee pads , if you're going to do any kind of flooring. Protect your body, you'll need it for the rest of your life.
Was just about to say. Pro knees are expensive but my brothers pair just went out after 12-13 years. And u can get repair kits rather than having to buy a whole new set
Can you imagine building something beautiful with your hands each day and having to give it away for an hourly pay rate? It is no wonder that Jesus was a carpenter.
@@LandbergTileTV because of you showing us the tools you use we all can go back and watch them and reevaluate what other toys we might need or want. Who doesn't like new toys in their tool box anyways.
If you don't already have these tools you should remain as a helper. You definitely should not be trying to open your own shop if you don't even have trowels or a saw 🤑
I'm not sure anyone is claiming you have to use an angle grinder, but there are plenty of professionals who've been laying tile for decades who swear by them. That's a fact.
I'm taking the grinder over a small tabletop wetsaw. For toilet flanges and shower diverter cuts a grinder is practically necessary.
I would add the angle grinder with a diamond disc and a diamond milling tool for those curved cuts. Very informative and useful video. I wish I had seen a video like this when I started out.
Agreed
Grinder for cutting tile around the toilet flange. I use the cap from a 1 gallon RedGard water proof membrane as my template for the flange, perfect fit.
You can still achieve that with a table top. Granted better maneuverability, tho its just safer imo 😅
I'm not even a tiling handyman and I subbed. Thank you
Square, chaulk line , nippers , straight edges, wheel barrow, staple gun , tin snips , and all the tools you mentioned earlier !! Love your videos !!

A angle grinder in my humble opinion is a must have simply because of it versatility you can do so many things
I completely agree with the angle grinder with the diamond disk. Not only for the curved cuts but also for the notched cuts.
An ice chest with beers for end of day after tiling
Love your channel- so much solid info- I'm a carpenter but I do tile and I really appreciate how much you share-

Great post. Thank you!
Diamond drill bits should in the top 10. What you drilling holes for pipes with otherwise? A laser level and a multi tool should also be in there
Agreed. Laser to start the first row makes life much easier. Plus you look more professional 😆
Ever try to cut a door jam with a hacksaw, lol?
Not fun!
tbh you can make clean sharp pipe hole with just a 4inch grinder. diamond drill is just slow af

Spot on the measure tape and we also always use the makita grinder
Multi tool and painter's tool are good to have.
Great content man keep it coming more videos for beginners/apprentices
Thanks, will do!

thanks!
I have a cute lil 7 1/4” chop saw with a 60 tooth blade for cutting my schluter edging. Small easy to haul and the blade is cheaper than a 10 or 12” saw.
I use my wet saw to cut most of my tile edging. Works pretty good.

Great video bro! Love it. Will help people
i want to get a mini composite speed square anyone know where to find them?

i bought a fiberglass 6' folding rule for exactly this reason no more trashing tapes and nothing to rust

A plug in angle grinder with a diamond blade is a must have. Not really a better way to cut holes/curves, once you know how at least.

How can you lay tile without malert
Whats ur openion on best rail saw? I'm looking at either the montolit 4 ft or the rubi 4 ft...
Grinder replaces wet saw, score and snap, and table saw.
Can cut straight with a jig as well as round holes. Essential.
Ever tried to cut glass or a curb with a grinder? Makes for a hideous edge. Even the cheapest wet saw is crucial
@@mattburke9991 I agree 100% that you wouldn't use a grinder on Glass tile even a Wetsaw doesn't give it the cleanest cuts.

I have all the batteries Dewalt, milwaukee, rigid, flex does this make me unfaithul or just polyamourus ?
Great tools 😎
I use a multi tool to cut under frames and use a grinder. I'm a beginner. Don't use a tile cutter much or bench grinder
Absolutely need an angle grinder before the table top saw, it can do everything the tabletop saw can plus radius cuts as well.
Very useful video
am in Nigeria. how can i get these ten most important tiling tools
Does QEP work on porcelain tile?
Yes it does 👊
How can I Have all this tool
What is tile installation price there ?
Good stuff 👍
Thanks!
Diamond blade on a grinder for mitering for sure if yo
Angle grinder for cutting out toilet flange opening.
Scratch cutter angle grinder combo.
Love it!!
Good vedio keep on updating your tool boro but in Asia Nepal all those tools are still not in use
Hey lanberg. Do you prefer a brand and grit for those diamond pads?

I'd all a multi tool and a grinder to this.
What about a rubber hammer
I forgot the most important tool !! Thinset drill /. Paddle
Can you imagine building something beautiful with your hands each day and having to give it away for an hourly pay rate? It is no wonder that Jesus was a carpenter.
Why Didn't the angle grinder make your list?
It should have!
Tile nippers are inexpensive and also work well with the table top saw on mosaics cleaning the little nubs the saw likes to leave on the ends.
Buckets and mixer
You can easily say 12 must tools as I would add grinder with diamond disc and diamond hole saw.
I'm already regretting not doing that

I’ll take the grinder all day over that saw. I use a grinder every day. Cut out toilet flange make L cuts really a million different things

haha grouting is only my favorite part because it means i get paid soon lol
Common Sense is the most important tool. If you don't understand plumb, level, and square, leave it to the seasoned mechanics.

Gloves and beer
a mixer so that drill doesnt burn up doing something it wasnt intended to do

Fuck ya. Must have stabila. 🤭
lol... you left out the angle grinder. you did this to get people to engage in the comments LOL smart
lol, should of been in there!
