Yup! And as a teen playing the game in 98 I don’t think I noticed that the melody in that termite mound didn’t match Mumbo’s Mountain’s theme. All other variants are different, yet this one relic of the beta made it to the release!
Oh man, I just noticed that this matches the Mumbo's Mountain version of Grunty's lair. They didn't bother making it match Mumbo's Mountain's final musical aesthetic, though. I actually think that's cool, it's a footnote of the original song. (And Termite Tower). Kind of like how the Click Clock Wood puzzle room has textures for Fungi Forest, because that was where its puzzle would've been.
H4mm3rSp4c3 And I also think Treasure Trove Cove originally had another name (Hammerhead Beach) because in the sandcastle is a code to unlock Treasure Trove Cove. I love reading about these leftover bits from earlier versions.
***** Head to Gregg Mayles' Twitter, he has been sharing many pieces of concept art. Noteworthy mentions include fruit houses that Banjo visited, and many rejected attacks. Tim Stamper has been teasing a Dream SNES build for two months, I imagine it's to get as many followers as possible to advertise his shitty mobile games. All we have gotten is one measly title screen, and some images of the cartridge.
+H4mm3rSp4c3 Can you send me the dream tittle screen and the cartrige images,i checked his twitter and nothing, also that damm prototype he has been teasing... i really want to see them
cruel nini I just checked to see if he has deleted them, and they are still there. Did you look at the wrong Twitter account? His is @InTimsWorld. Rare is going to make more making of videos outside of Rare Replay (probably they will find this shit is too niche and quit sigh). The silver lining to Rare trying this is that we got a pretty early picture of BK when it was 2.5D. It could even be Dream on the N64 (for a while it lived on that system after replacing Edison with Banjo). They might even show some footage! pbs.twimg.com/media/CM36-TxWIAEj-6j.jpg:orig
Oh, that's why Tickers Tower has that theme.
Explodinator damn, didnt know it was slowed down until now

***** iirc Kirkhope was instructed to change this and the beach music in the last minute

Suddenly the music from Ticker's Tower makes a lot more sense.
If you listen closely, this was used in the 1997 beta trailer of Banjo-Kazooie
Wario cap Productions yeah it was driving me nuts trying to find this song that was used in the trailer for a while
Sounds like it would better accompany faster-paced gameplay than what Banjo provides.
I hear tiny Kong's tag barrel theme in this
it is the same melody
and the animal sounds were used in DK's training area
Baby Elephant Walk?
That's probably why it was changed
WHY DIDN'T THEY USE THIS SONG IN THE GAME HOLY SHIT IT'S SO GOOD
Yeah I know it's on Ticker's Tower but it's slowed down. It isn't the same thing
damn, You read my mind, I was going to tell you that
@@MexicanSheepMan they forgot remove it in that zone
I'm glad at least part of this song lives on in DK64 :)
and tickers tower
This fits Mumbo's Mountain but at the same time it doesn't, but I would like to see it used but... Oh well...
The beginning is basically Tiny Kongs theme
I can see this being mumbo's mountain. I personally dont think it should of been scrapped. Just refined.
It was refined. The end product is just a re-arrangement. This beta one was composed when Mumbo's Mountain had the jungle textures.
They just slowed it down in the termite tower in mumbo's mountain and used it there
I just wish Microsoft didn't buy Rare
Ya we could have got Banjo-Three!
There's still hope
I swear to god if they don’t announce Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie remakes soon I’m gonna break something
Some of the sounds from this were used in banjo tooie, the Mayan one I cant remember the name and trust me I'm very ashamed
Mayahem Temple. Don't feel ashamed
they were used in mumbo's mountain and its lobby aswell
Why does this sound like hammer bros theme at 0:14
I always wanted that Tiger in the game
Hearing this makes me like it more than the original, but also if I compare this with the official one I like the latter more; I'm confused
If you fast forward in the ant hill you will hear the song
Almost sounds like something out of Conker’s Bad Fur Day
is that Tickers tower
Yes, just faster
Grump bump?
its an early version of Donkey Kong 64 mad maze maul music
Actually this does kinda sound like Mad Maze Maul from DK64.
Michael Bosman Also, Tiny's theme in the Tag Barrel uses the starting notes.
This sounds like Baby Elephant Walk of Henry Mancini
Right???
Where did someone uncover this relic~??
AverageJoe5050 I believe it was in the code of the N64 cartridge, or i think Grant Kirkhope, the composer of the banjo series posted it online
This should have been in Donkey Kong 64.
baby elephant walk
Baby elephant walk!
Sounds like Mario Party 2 music because the flute
Is this baby elephant walk??
Honey Hive galaxy sounds very similar.
Brendan honeyhive sounds nothin like this
fucking sweet thx GK!
how many people were brought here from beta 64?
robloxian mike 2500 me
I was brought here by Game Grumps.
this song sounds familiar
+Jack Ripple It sounds a little like... I think the song is called "Baby Elephant Walk"?
+Jack Ripple A slowed down version of this song still play's in Ticker's Tower (the termite mound) in the final version of Mumbo's Mountain.
+GamerBlue53
I know that
I meant it sounds like I've heard it from somewhere else
the guy who replied previously gave me the song already
Final one is better
You were saying?
