I've been dancing for a decade and this series made me cry because of all the feelings these characters have for each other and their dancing. It really is a beautiful show and I miss it being on Netflix dearly.
I remember this series and it was so beautiful. Sure it was a little weird in the beginning saying as it was the first anime I had ever watched but it's very beautiful. The ending was adorable and amazing and remember watching this on Netflix for the first time makes me want to cry really...
Aw no, it cut off before the best part! D: It's such a beautiful scene when Mytho wakes up and she runs to him, it's so touching! Ah, but oh well. Still a lovely clip. I honestly have a major soft spot for Mytho/Tutu, it's probably my favorite pairing in the show (even though I do love Fakir/Ahiru and I like Mytho/Rue okay). It had the most beautiful, fantastical romance feel to it, makes me wonder what Mytho's relationship with the original Princess Tutu was like and if it was similar Ahiru-Tutu's.

This was my first anime, because I was doing ballet at the time, and I was searching up ballet, and then this beauty showed up, I watched 3 episodes each night on my dad's computer. I learnt how to do Duck/Princess Tutu's voice in English. XD
Best dub performance for any character ever voiced by Luci Christian, and this sequence highlights it superbly. Jessica Boone brought the best haughtiness out of Rue, very much so. :)
This is beautiful. I love this anime. It's charming and lovely to watch the dancing is beautiful and the animation is consistently together and accurately portrayed ballet (she's dancing a couples dance by herself and look as how her legs shake a small detail but wonderfully added). The characters are so thought out and developed, though I personally would have liked to have seen more on Mytho's part seeing as he was the one getting his heart back; and honestly the first time I wasn't very fond of the ending. However, looking back I realize that the way it turned out was perfect if not close to perfect. And it all started because a little duck just wanted to see her prince smile. :) This will always be a favorite of mine.

I love this show SO MUCH! the story and animation is beautiful. While it does fomulaic on the quest for the heart shards, you look forward to how they're going to interpret the other famous ballets into the episodes plot. This show is wonderful!
I know how to do Duck's voice, (the English version) its sooo cute! Mutes voice is quiet and sounds a tiny bit like Yuki from Furuba. I prefer this in dub. Because in Sub, you have to keep looking down at the subtitles, not the animation, so you miss most of it, so i watch anime in Dub. Some in Japanese. I have learnt about Ballet more, because of Tutu! :)
Normally I prefer subbed over dubbed in anime but Princess Tutu is a huge exception. For some reason I really enjoy the english voice acting much better than the japanese. But that's the wonderful thing about being able to watch it both ways :)

One thing i didn't understand when I watched this anime is if she could convey her emotions through other methods then couldn't she have just written out on a sign "I love you."? lol XD I mean it is a written form and not verbal she could also just say "I can't tell you my feelings because I will vanish if I tell you." and if she couldn't vocalize that either she could just write that as well! XDDDDD
Rule number 1 in writing a story: Show, Don't tell. Anyone can write or say 'I love you' and mean absolutely nothing by it. The writers know that so they need Duck to show her feelings for the true message of them to get across. That's why she dances instead of running around with a sign.
+SpiritIncarnation There is actually a lot you express in dancing, emotions in particular. There are specific movements for different messages you want to pass on, which proves to be more effective and more meaningful than writing it down or simply saying it.
Because people always carry paper around with them in all occasions. Not including Fakir. Ahiru needs to express love to the Prince, and I'm sure she's a better dancer than a writer.
Most animes that contain ballet movements in it that are supposed to be graceful, are actuall jerky looking. That's why i hate those ones. But Princess Tutu's animations make the ballet movements so graceful!!!! LOVE IT!!!!
Yes, I take ballet and I practice the solo pas de deux to warm up. I've been practicing ballet for almost 3 years now. You'll get better, don't worry. ^___^
I do feel magical and just like Princess Tutu when I do the solo dance. I even figured out how to do her jump and also made her costume. ^__^ Since I started ballet I've seen a lot of improvement over time. I hope you dance just as good as Princess Tutu one day. :)
It's a bit strange how they used the music that they used when Ahiru and Rue were dancing in episode 2. I think it's cool cause it shows how they can still be friends in the end. ^_^ I prefer the english dub more, especially Fakirs.

Sure, the heart shard is ther, but it doesn't have physical body do they?! I mean, aren't they just slightly transparent versions of mytho made out of light (or sparkles)?

her name is Ahiru and ahiru means duck in Japanese, but I can't believe they translated her name literally like that xD

Ahiru isn't a proper name in Japanese anyway. So them translating it as a word rather than a name makes sense

They can have a physical body. There was a scene were Mytho's heart shard tried to attack Tutu with a sword and she blocked it remember?

I can understand why duck wouldn't be seen as princess tutu but Rue (I'm not sure if that's how you spell it) looks exactly the same
