    That was a fabulous visual and historical tour of the Palos Verdes coastline. Thank you to my fellow RE/MAX Estate Properties colleagues. Great job! Merci beaucoup for sharing it with me. Fun to see the photo of PBC before the slide wiped away the clubhouse, pool and pier. I feel very lucky to live in such a special place.

    I've lived here all my life and I never knew that it looked like that, (from the other side)?
    Thank you for sharing this. This was a wonderful tour!
    I've had the swordfish at Trump National Golf Club several times and it's delicious!
    Their desserts are the best part!

    Totally cool dudes. Cowabunga. I’ve surfed, dove and hook & line fished the peninsula and this is a great perspective of some of the best of So Cal……………

    Thanks so much for sharing this! Really fun to see that beautiful coastline from a different point of view. My mom's place was just a bit further down (Palos Verdes Shores). Lots of great memories of walks at Terranea, tea at the golf course, and more.

    It was good to see your footage. I grew up in an area on the other side of the hill in Westfield. In the summer of 1977, I lived on Sacreds. 9 months we lived there. It was the best time of my life. Thank you. It was nice to reminisce. And, yes, Smugglers Cove (where Sacred Beach is located) was frequently used to bring in bootleg back in the 20's and 30's.

    As a kid, I used to pedal my bike to Flat Rock with a handlebar Wire basket on the front and bring back Opal Eye perch and Sculpins, Sea Urchins and Anenomes in a covered bucket for my homemade Salt Water tank. 1965-ish i suppose.

    I lived in the house on the corner of Paseo Del Mar and Oakley Road, right across the street from Lunada Bay from 1958 to 1979. I remember when the Dominator struck the rocks. I was only 6 then, a lot of excitement out there one night. Yes, the ship remained there for many years. A few divers lost their lives searching the wreckage years after the crash. It would get foggy and there was a fog horn that would blow at night but it was not located nearby. Eventually the sea claimed the ship. Went to Marineland many times as a kid. It is gone now and Trump has his golf place there. Went to Lunada Bay Elementary School, Margate, and graduated from PVHS in 1974 with two of the Hatano kids who lived and farmed the land across from where Marineland was located. So many beautiful sunsets, memories of climbing down the cliff barefoot, going to Rat Beach, hanging out at Malaga Cove Plaza, etc. It was a beautiful, very safe childhood there at the time, very quiet, nice people. A friend of my cousin's now owns our old house. My dad bought it in 1958 for $50,000. It is worth many millions now, but that's a lifetime ago as I'm getting up there in years. Thank you very much for this wonderful video of my old stomping ground. We attended the Neighborhood Church and my sister married at the Glass Church, which is now not really there anymore due to the land sliding in Portuguese Bend. Fun horse shows in Portuguese Bend too. It was an ideal life when California had less than half the population. Redondo, Torrance, Hermosa, Manhattan Beach where our friends built one of the first houses on the Strand. Lots of memories.

    Great. OK do you know what the South American looking rock aqueduct looking thing in the cliff next to Torrance Beach IS?
    Didn't remember the big landslide was due to a broken water main.

      The slide is an ancient slide. This is before the heavy rains that escalated the slide(s) two years ago.

    I enjoyed the video but was disappointed you cut out the last leg. The Peninsula ends at Point Fermin, not Trump Golf Course.

    • @danmullin
      @danmullin  2 місяці тому

      My intention was to make one from the end of Trumps to the Vincent Thomas bridge to complete the Peninsula. I have the footage but haven’t done the commentary. Here is the link. ua-cam.com/video/iW7Gb3F9ODc/v-deo.htmlsi=gianf3m1Z9ABmvhH
      It’s still in private mode so you have to have link to watch. Let me know your thoughts.
