AHS is literally like that since season 4. Shows so much mysteries and climax then in the finale they're shoving everything and felt rush. It lose it touch since then
The season started out so great, and then everything after they left PTown just ruined it. They did almost nothing with Lark, we needed Karen's backstory, a more thorough explanation on the pills, some type of resolution for Doris. The ending, especially the part where everyone was going nuts and tearing the city apart, was too much like something out of American Horror Stories instead. I figured the crew and cast just ran out of shooting time at that location, given how Ryan said it was very "weather dependent" and had to be done during a certain time of year, but even finishing up on a sound stage would have been better than what we got.
The ending made no sense. Kill or be killled, burn down the city and then move to the next city like no one notices until you have a utopia/dystopia of what?
I know! On the Lark issue: I'm a huge Billie Lourd fan (She's my favorite actress) and I was expecting the finale to feature her prominently, mainly because she's literally in the title sequence and considered a main cast member. I'm pretty sure she was in 15 minutes of the season total. She was literally only in episodes 2 and 4 !! In 1984, Dylan McDermott was only considered a guest star, yet had a prominent role in the last 3 episodes. So at that point, why even put Billie in the main cast and not just put her as a guest star ?! I'm hoping she's somehow in Death Valley (Even though I think Angelica, Lily, and Sarah are the only confirmed returners for part 2)
@@loganarnoldkicks4321 I was gonna say it was almost pointless to even have her in it at all, but then I know the characters needed a way to get their teeth sharpened. But for all the (lack of) attention they paid her character, they might have just well said in passing that it was done by a local dentist, and then saved her for a better character that they actually utilized.
This was such a disappointing ending.... The first 5 episodes were amazing and on pace to be one of the best seasons of the show. This episode felt completely rushed and they never explained anything they teased. What was the point of mentioning lime disease so many times??? There was no follow up to explain what ultimately happened to Karen, or Doris. Harry's character also pulls a complete 180 in the first 5 minutes of the film. What was the point of Harry having that speech at the end of episode 5 only to have the writer erased all that character development in the beginning of the next episode. Such a disappointing episode. The writers could have conclude this season in so many ways and they all would have been better than what we got.
This finale was very lacking. Red Tide definitely should have been a full season; hoping Death Valley can mend some loose ends. The season was great until this point- this episode feels a bit rushed and thoughtless sadly.
I'm so upset with the ending of Red Tide. The first 5 episodes were so good. The cinematography was excellent, the pace was good, the main story along with all the little side stories were decent, overall it was actual horror with a sprinkle of genuinely funny scenes and one liners. Then the last episode was just so freaking rushed, random, and ridiculous. I'm sick of this campy horror stuff which is why I was really enjoying this season I would rather episode 5 be the finale instead of the 💩 we ended up with.
I’m hoping this plays into the double feature aspect of the season and they make a part two or something because I agree with you it was lackluster, they could’ve done so much with it but they just rushed the end to push out the next part
@@AngieKawaii01 even if they make a part 2, i dont think you can fix that horrible finale, unless they pull the "it was all a dream" card, wich would feel cheap
@@andreaswhyattandresen6488 I’ve been seeing the theory that part 2 will be one of the writers scripts or novels, that seems like a pretty good idea but I agree it seems sort of basic and an easy scape goat finale.
@@ericb9252 I would've been okay with the rest of the cast just getting off'd but, there wasn't even a chance of that happening. I mean normally AHS has one more episode dedicated to the loose ends they missed like Fiona going to hell after Cordella became supreme and Margret Booth getting killed at camp Redwood when it appeared that she got away with framing Mr. Jingles and Brooke for all the deaths at the camp.
This season finale would've been more suited for American Horror Stories, quick fun and damn crazy lol. If you're looking for answers to... well anything, this finale is severely disappointing. If you're looking for entertainment and plain fun, the finale is actually fun to watch.
Exactly! I thought that same thing - did the writers get too caught up in the AHStories vibe to be able to switch seamlessly back & forth? Finale definitely felt like it belonged on the other series as a short. Don’t get me wrong, I like this season - I love that it’s tighter / focused on fewer storylines and that it’s character-driven vs leaning disproportionately on a convoluted plot - but I’m with you; there are some real tonal issues with that finale along with major elements left out that can’t be glossed over (eg Doris’s non-appearance & therefore lack of an arc, why the chemist who wanted the “winning side” dead all of a sudden switches teams after just one convo with agent lady and chooses the mom life, why they bothered introducing a new sheriff, etc.). I did enjoy Sarah Paulson’s storyline and ending a lot - that felt complete. Maybe all the gaps will come together by the end of part II. I’m crossing my fingers🤞but not holding my breath 😬)...
@@persephonespomegranate Again, I don't think that we'll get much connection/answers in the 4 episodes of Death Valley that we're getting, and I have a strong feeling many will be disappointed if they hope for such. I believe Covid absolutely devastated what the season could've been and Ryan just wanted to do his best with what they had available. Even the original plan for the 10th season was altered (i believe) from the original full-season plan because of covid, and this new idea was moved to the forefront, but still suffered due to trying to shoot an entire show while adhering to pandemic guidelines. If it wasn't for covid, I think this season could have been released in the future with two actual good-length seasons and much more could've been prepared and fleshed out before moving to film. I could be completely wrong and Ryan could somehow turn all our expectations on their heads and knock these next few episodes out of the park with longer episodes, but I believe that this finale being 30 minutes is pointing towards this season severely under-delivering on certain fronts, along with the fact that Ryan was very put off about doing an alien season in the first place.
I can’t believe Ryan Murphy is the same man who wrote Murder house and asylum. AHS has been extremely comedic the last few seasons. American horror stories honestly at times felt like horror comedy.
It is crazy to see the transformation the show has made because it started out very strong. I feel like there’s still potential for great seasons but it should be a true horror story!
I felt the show started a slow downward turn during Roanoke, got weird for Cult and lazy for 1984. Apocalypse had its moments, but had to lean heavily on Coven for it. I'm a little bummed out. EDIT: I'm sure I'm not in order with the seasons, but it's just how it felt. Anyway, hated Cult..
I do not trust these writers to make this happen. I feel like it’s gonna be a stand alone and it’s gonna fall flat compared to the first part. I’m not being mean but the past indicates the future.
I agree with Happy Little in theory the second part being the origin of the pills would be an awesome idea but I’m finally realizing that these writers don’t really like to connect things like that.
it’s called double feature.... obviously 2 different stories in one season. i seriously doubt red tide and death valley will be connected at all. death valley takes place in the 50s-60s so if anything it will connect to asylum or freakshow and that’s hoping lol.
Yeah, while I totally agree with Greg's points on COVID obviously being a huge obstacle, but since Lily is supposed to be in part 2 (As Amelia Earhart) I think they could've given Doris a proper ending. Especially with all of the people they used in the LA scenes. I'm sure that was a much bigger issue with COVID than giving Lily Rabe a 5 minute appearance where she is able to get some redemption.
I interpreted the end as the chemist bailing on Alma and Ursula b/c they were bringing too much chaos. Am I wrong on this? So Alma doesn't necessarily grow up to continue being a famous violinist b/c isn't the chemist basically saying F you and taking off with the pills? Kind of makes her the "final girl".
The ending in this episode kinda reminded me of the ending in ahs stories drive in , with the ending having a worldwide or state wide chaos but a lot better and well paced
If you notice too some of the soundtrack is the same. And the town meeting room looked a lot like the room where the director attacked the lawyer for banning his movie. A lot of ties…👀
My only wish was that right as they left the house Doris was waiting on the front porch and just starts ripping into Alma before anyone could do anything about it...that evil ass kid needed to be put down🤣🤣🤣
Remember Karen's painting? Ryan Murphy clearly didn't. Also, a show written by 2 white guys throwing in an afterthought line about systemic racism/police brutality seemed more exploitative than social commentary. And if the pale people have to retreat in the summer, tourist months in Provincetown, why are they totally fine to be out in warm, touristy, sunnyass LA?
I'm seriously hoping Ursula, the Chemist, and Alma face karmic punishment for the crimes they've committed. Surely the US Government, the LAPD, and every law-enforcement organization in between are simply not just going to look the other way with Los Angeles being destroyed by a zombie/vampire apocalypse.
I think Greg is right about the Death Valley being connected to one of Harry's scripts, because I vaguely remember him having a flash of an alien when he took the pill way back at the beginning of the season. I'm down with that idea!
im so annoyed. this season started out so strong. episodes 1-3 were great, 4 was fine, 5 was great, and then 6 completely let me down. i was still waiting for more clarification about the pill, i thought there was gonna be some kind of twist regarding the pill because the information we've gotten about it throughout the season was kind of vague and some things didn't seem to add up. i hate how they killed off belle and austin, it seemed rushed. we never saw karens painting. we never got any kind of closure with doris's character. and how the other pills just magically made the pale people be able to fight the talented ones was not explained well at all, just seemed like a lazy way to make that part happen. and why didn't the pale people attack ursula? did she ever take the pill and we didn't see it? or they really just listened to her? seems weird.. and no revisiting lyme disease? overall im really disappointed with this last episode.
I felt exactly the same way. To me this was a wasted episode. I would have rather they ended with ep. 5 if they were not even going to try to wrap things up.
@@monicawood9942 i kept checking how much time was left because i was like no there has to be more.. and as it was getting closer and closer to the ending i was still holding on to hope, then it ended and i was in disbelief. after such a good season it almost feels like the writers have to know how bad the ending was. i don't understand how they watched it and decided that was the way to go..
@@tsxtina2919 i really didnt care for apocalypse or 1984 so i wasn't expecting much, but i thought this season started off really good. and i enjoyed it but then he completely dropped the ball for the last episode. i guess it shouldn't be that surprising, just seems weird that ryan murphy didn't recognize how bad it is.
I would have loved that! Then when they leave Provincetown, she sees one of the pale people from a distance and it spooks her because she thought it was all a dream.
So, fun fact. The name "Alma" means soul in Spanish. I wonder if that was intentional when naming her character, but you know, with a bit of irony...because she doesn't have one.
@@fizzlepeach someone said that asylum was one of Harry’s script, kind of why one of the characters was named alma (her daughter) also ties in with the aliens
I wish AHS: Red Tide had its own season because there’s so much they could’ve done with the story if they got a full season. Karen and Mickys arc could’ve been extended to where we could’ve grown more feelings for there relationship. I feel like there could been more growth with every character that the franchise has done really well in the past ( in my opinion) season 7 did that the best with every character we got to understand why they felt that way about the world. In the end I support all of the decisions they make for this show and it don’t matter I’ll still end buying the dvd lol
I’m convinced that Ryan Murphy has an issue with how to write payoff. His set-ups are almost always great, but his endings/payoff are always lacking. It’s like a hollow cake with great frosting… such a tease 😒
Am i the only one who thinks that Alma is always gonna have to face the fact that there are other people just as talented as her without needing a pill? She'll always have this jealousy that will make her kill them, and she'll probably end up getting caught at some point.
The designer guy is the head of the HOA but when he was talking to the cop about what he saw at the beach when a man got murdered, he said he was just visit g because his dog had died and he was there to grieve. So how is he now essentially in charge of the whole town?
@@TradingCardsAndMore it’s not an excuse, it’s hard to film in pandemic with restrictions on how many people you can have in one place at one time. All the actors had to get COViD tests like every month. They are still filming part 2 bc of COViD restrictions.
The ending should've been: One more moment with Lark sharpening Alma's teeth Doris's revenge Ursula taking the pill The Chemist owning the baby and going back to the military, tying to Death Valley. In my mind Red Tide ended with Gaslight.
I totally agree, but Lark still needed to have a bigger part than just being the dentist 😂 Billie Lourd is amazing and is in the main title sequence, so I'd expect her to have a much bigger role than what she got (Pretty much a glorified cameo, as she was only in 1/3 of the season and was maybe on screen for 15 minutes!)
Totally agree about it ending with Gaslight. It feels like episode 6 was a spin-off, or like what a fan wrote online as what they think happened next rather than what was canon for the universe.
This finale felt so quick! It was a good episode and I wish we had a little bit more in my opinion, plus that whole world going to hell thing was definitely an American horror stories type of vibe, like it very much felt like the assignment was due at 11:59pm and you started it at 11:15pm
Reason why it felt like that it’s because it was written and directed by the same dude that directed ahs stories and wrote the bad stories like the Christmas episode and the murder house video game episode
While the professor was facilitating in the last scene, his presentation was called "Sirens Call" which you catch a small glimpse of. Idk if Ryan Murphy teased the siren theory to throw us off. This is definitely one of the seasons with the biggest plot holes thus far, I hope there is something to tie this together neatly.
@@fizzlepeach the sirens weren’t going to be for this season though lol. He made a poll to see what type of theme y’all want for one of the future seasons
Looks like the writers decided to joke at themselves in the finale. First five episodes were a genius masterpieces and the episode 6 shows what happens when you refuse from the pills.
Tbh the only character that had a full character arch was Keren. Everyone else’s arch seemed rushed :(. Kinda upset because i really liked where it was heading but i guess its because there was only 6 episodes.
I thought this episode was just so boring. A lot of build up for, basically, a zombie apocalypse. I do wish we could see Alma after the Pale People takeover dealing with the fact that now her talent 100% doesn't matter
Right? Great point. They could have Alma v Ursula b/c in the end they had competing and opposite goals. Ursula throwing the pill out like candy and Alma simply would be back page news.
Its not a zombie apocalypse, this disease only spreads through the pills, if they stop giving out pill there wont be more pale people… their number is fixed
Great Video. I enjoyed the Red Tide Finale. I love the idea that the four episode’s of Death Valley is Harry’s script. The whole season they are filming Harry’s script. Maybe there can be a twist where Harry is Kit Walker’s Grandson, and he got inspiration from what happened to kit. To help him come up with his own alien story for his script. I think that would be a good connection with Asylum. That’s why I think the Aliens in Death Valley look different from the one’s in Asylum.
I have so many questions still. Like Karen’s last painting. I wish it was a full season but 🤷♀️. And I really thought Ursula was going to the cemetery to meet Doris.
The scene with the state police wasn’t needed. Just to show that the council is controlling enough to shut down a police investigation - very unrealistic.
@@the_glitter_is in a show full of ppl drinking other ppl’s blood and the town is okay with it? No. But that’s the most “relatable” scene that didn’t ring true.
Beside it being unrealistic it was so pointless. They could have replaced it with a scene of Dennis strolling the beach and seeing the commotion of the fisherman coming back to the dock after finding the sheriffs body, and then going straight to having a meeting with Belle, Austin, and the chemist.
@@breskiboo A group of rich white people turning a blind eye & covering up murder to increase revenue & rid the area of "undesirables" is one of the only realistic aspects of the season.
I agree with Ryan when he says they might connect this part of the season to real life people like Marilyn Monroe, the president/First Lady , the government, etc
So, was Alma still taking the pill because she was eating that guy's snack after she killed him. I didn't think they could stomach regular food while taking the pill. Or does she just like the taste of blood now and feels the need to feed just because she's pure evil?
People are so concerned about what happened to Karen's painting, but painted art is very subjective. Imo, the person who found it may have thought it was just "pretty" and kept it. Or, it was washed out with the tide. Whatever the case, there was no way it would be shown for the same reason why Harry's "masterpiece" wasn't read aloud. This part of the series was about creativity, which requires some imagination on our part as viewers.
This started strong and pulled a a David and Dan. Even the new officer Jan that came to investigate was literally just forgotten about. No one wanted Alma to Stevie survive, we wanted Ursula to be taken out. Justice for Doris and Harry should have taken down the Chemist. I wish we got to see what all these writers were writing. 🧐
Some seasons could have been better with fewer episodes. Red Tide needed a few more episodes and a much better ending. I mean, when my theories are better than the show ending...
I think Lily Rabe was just done with Red Tide. She had the 2nd half of this season to film as a different character. If Covid was the big issue then why did they film that ending in Hollywood with the Pale Face massacre. I mean don't risk the health of a bunch of extras? lol Yeah that's not nice if it was the case.
Different states have different requirements for filming during covid, but generally in most outdoor and open air scenes have more wiggle room for having more people in a scene.
I just started rewatching "Asylum". I have a prediction about Red Tide. Only into the first episode and I think that Asylum is Henry's script that he wrote. The first clue I noticed was the name Alma. Maybe she was named after his daughter, Alma. The second thing I've already realized was that Alma and Kit were married in Provincetown. I guess we'll see if I'm right. Maybe there are more clues....
I'm really hoping Death Valley ties in more heavily with Red Tide. There are so many loose ends!! 1. Doris isn't seen at all, and we need closure on her 2. Lark was literally in 2/6 episodes and was maybe on screen for 15 minutes at most, yet Billie Lourd is in the title sequence, meaning she's a main cast member. So why put her in the title sequence if you're not going to use her other than making her the reason where everyone gets their teeth ???!!! (Sorry for the mini rant, I'm just a huge Billie Lourd fan and she is so underutilized in this season!) 3. Why are the pale people shown as sea creatures/sirens in the promos and are just literal zombies? 4. WHAT HAPPENED WITH KAREN'S MASTERPIECE? 5. What happened with Dot Marie Jones character?! 6. Alma needs to face some repercussions for how terrible she is (I'll be fine if she gets away with it mainly because it's AHS and of course she'd get away with it, but still) 7. WHAT'S WITH DORIS AND ALL THE LYME DISEASE STUFF ?! 8. Are Alma and Ursula staying in LA ? 9. Where is the Chemist taking Eli?! Is she going to be going to Death Valley or is she just going to get a "happy ending" where she gets to raise Eli and move far away?
Yes-too many loose ends. What about the rule of always wearing gloves-why say this and no pay off. No one asked where Alma and Eli’s parents went-I think having Doris die with Harry would have given some closure there.
I didn't think Alma won the place at the Philharmonic at all! I assumed they took one look at the security cameras and carted her off to jail or a hospital.
I love how that state trooper came in and said she was going to investigate everything going on, and then we literally never saw nor heard from her again lol. I feel like that part was written with the original intent of this story taking up a whole season. Maybe they just did what they could, having to write around covid and the weather. Still, not my favorite story AHS has told, and I can’t imagine part 2 will be any better, considering it will only be 4 episodes. Still, who knows?
Do you think the Aliens will connect to those we saw in Asylum? Asylum plot is supposed to be in the 60s, and this season should also have some past connections
The “Winter Kills” convo wasn’t as off as you guys are thinking. When you pull up IMDB and go to this episode Billie Lourd is the face for this episode…it’s a weird nod to Cult but whatever…it had to be an intentional thing. Love when you guys do AHS 💜. Keep at it.
I would love for Death Valley to tie in with Asylum and the unresolved alien plot there. I too think the ending of part 1 felt rushed and contrived, with huge opportunities missed.
I don’t think The Chemist thought her vigilante plan through very well. I’m not sure it’s vigilante justice to get a killer cop off the street by…. making them more of a killer cop? She makes them more dangerous, more violent…. IDGI.
A couple things- 1. They've already dropped what an old-fashioned name Doris is.... So maybe it IS her in the black and white footage. Perhaps it's a crossover there. 2. One of the things I think tie the two may be the government. The Chemist left the government sector and the 2nd feature seems to feature the govt pretty predominantly. Also 3. Let's not forget the random alien storyline from Asylum! Maybe that will tie in....
Everything that was built up over the first five episodes was discarded in a matter of 2 mins and then the show just became a completely diff show for the last 10 mins or so.. i dont know, this show always does this and I’ll never understand how they could consistently come up with good intriguing ideas and concepts but never be able to wrap them up in a satisfying way, it’s the same thing literally every single season since season 2… I mean, we’ll see if we get any more answers during part 2 but I’m not holding my breath
"It's been five years and it finally come undone" perfectly describes how one guy is bored out of his mind with the other's blabbering away. The former is definitely smarter, while the later is a disgrace which has to be endured as dumb and dumber... Be courageous!
Frankly it was easy to see coming Ursula and the Chemist would carry Alma home, considering they were the last with angles to play. Ursula even foreshadowed Harry's death when she read his last script and mockingly said he should kill himself it's so good. Grossman, Ross, and Wittrock all carried home the finale of 1984, so it was no shock seeing their storyline accumulating together. The real question here is what is their actual goal with the pill and connection to the government? The Chemist says they have a clearance and she even joked at the idea of creating a pill that will make them immortal, while Ursula narrates that only a few in history will know them, but at least now they're "leveling the playing field" Belle Noire even says herself moments before her death that Hollywood was hated by the locals in the 1900s, and the seminar speaker mentions every actor needs a "craft" Somehow I feel this season is possibly being setup to collide with Hotel, possibly even Asylum since we know there will be human experimentation worse than the Dr. Arden. If there's still a Coven of Witches, mythical serial killers, and capitalist egomaniacs like Margaret Boothe and James Patrick March that capitalized off death, even a former sect of Old Hollywood vampires, it's not far off to conclude or conspire that the Chemist may be acting on the authority or intent of supernatural that has yet to be revealed. If witches, talk show hosts, ghosts, medians, even the Devil returns for his due, it doesn't exclude the vampires as well. We just haven't seen them for obvious reasons.
So, I was thinking about Alma and Ursula. Evidently Ursula has the demon seed in LA while the Chemist leaves with baby Eli (probably a good thing cuz his sister's a freaking psychopath even before the black pill!), so...how is Alma going to continue to take the pill and keep her abilities going if the Chemist is gone and there are no more pills? Also, after Ursula handed out the pills at the evilTed Talk, it seemed, MAYBE, that the pales were of the variety like the ones at Belle's house 3 months earlier; they were attacking ANYONE. I could be wrong about that since it just looked like mass chaotic carnage. I'm still stuck on Alma though, with so many questions. Why wasn't the chemist more interested in how the pills would affect a child? My only answer is that she'd already tested this previously! Maybe kids taking them just turn into even worse evil little monsters than adults do.
I didn’t catch “winter kills” was the episode name! It’s funny though because even though it wasn’t Cult’s Winter character it was Billie Lourd’s Character still that did give her the teeth that killed her dad 0.0 So in a weird way “Winter” did kill xD The name play this season is A+
I don’t think he does. I think he thinks he’s audience is so dumb they will tune in no matter what so they have gotten worse and worse every season. He don’t care cuz y’all watch anyway
I wonder if there’s a connection to AHS Asylum.. Harry’s daughter is named Alma and this season takes place in Provincetown Massachusetts. In Asylum, Kitt Walker’s wife is named Alma and that season takes place in northern Massachusetts.. With the alien imagery for the second half of double feature, I can’t help but wonder if they’re going to reference season 2 more or even elaborate on that story line esp since Evan Peters has returned to the cast.
Unpopular opinion: I liked this episode. I think they tied it up pretty well cause we learn that they all know what is going on, they definitely started placing the spotlight on the kid so I pretty much figured that she would be the the main character eventually, Ursula got her pills so she could turn out "talent" and then basically u can tell that she would obviously go to LA And try turn out a profit. I loved the ending where the Chemist took the baby and said we just going to make another set of pills to do something else and know by she saying that the cycle will continue. I really like it.
I love that AHS doesn't always make sense and sometimes feels unfinished. It let's you use your imagination. It's a weird and quirky show with over the top stories, you really just have to roll with it to fully enjoy it.
This is how I wished Karen's story would ended: Everyone is in a fancy museum, an art gallery. People crowd around a mysterious painting (still not shown to the audience) and whisper rumours. "I heard she killed herself right after painting it!" "I heard she ripped some guys throat out" "she was homeless but could paint like that !?" "She came from that town of vampires or something" It's Karen's painting. Infact it's ALL her paintings, a whole gallery full of the mysterious tragic painters art. She's finally famous, her paintings sell for millions. Like most tragic artist sadly after her death, a d crazy news stories of p-town, is when the art blew up. But in a way we feel peace because atleast she did it her way and didnt scarifice her morals in the end.
I wonder if you’re using the pandemic as an excuse for the writing being so uneven this season. It started out really good and from last episode I really had high expectations but I have more questions than answers. It really didn’t even have take place in Providence at all if this was going to be the ending.

I agree with you on all counts. Maybe it's an alternate universe and they will never make a come back to it in another season. Can only hope!
Agreed
Just wait and see.
I’m thinking a class action lawsuit.. anyone interested, let me know
The part 1 finale was a major let down. Nothing got solved this time.
I agree. It was a whole lot of nothing.
Huge bummer.
Easily one of the worst finales in AHS history
@@ericb9252 I would've been okay with the rest of the cast just getting off'd but, there wasn't even a chance of that happening. I mean normally AHS has one more episode dedicated to the loose ends they missed like Fiona going to hell after Cordella became supreme and Margret Booth getting killed at camp Redwood when it appeared that she got away with framing Mr. Jingles and Brooke for all the deaths at the camp.
GIANT BUMMER
This season finale would've been more suited for American Horror Stories, quick fun and damn crazy lol. If you're looking for answers to... well anything, this finale is severely disappointing. If you're looking for entertainment and plain fun, the finale is actually fun to watch.
I totally agree 💯
It wasn’t that fun in my opinion there were better episodes of American horror stories
Facts. Even the comedic element was so out of place here.
I'm hoping Part 2 is related to the origin of the pills (ingredients). Alien DNA?? Would love to know where The Chemist and Baby Eli are.
Don’t hold your breath
it’s called double feature.... obviously 2 different stories in one season. i seriously doubt red tide and death valley will be connected at all. death valley takes place in the 50s-60s so if anything it will connect to asylum or freakshow and that’s hoping lol.
American Horror Story and a disappointing finale, name a more iconic duo.
Any Ryan Murphy series and a disappointing finale
GOT and that final season 😩
That should be the next season title
American horror story: disappointment 😂

I know Doris didn’t have to be there but it would’ve been kinda boss to see her eat on somebody almost like a mini redemption
I thought Doris would grab her baby and take off ! I could have written a better ending and I'm not taking a pill !
@@heidiwalker7123 🤣 yeah the baby and her could have exited and they could have moved on with the storyline
@@loganarnoldkicks4321 Agree. it didn't stop them having multiple cast in the same scene before. I wanted to see some redemption for her too.
When I saw Ursula went to the graveyard I thought we’re definitely gonna see Doris again but noooo? Good job confusing me
I interpreted the end as the chemist bailing on Alma and Ursula b/c they were bringing too much chaos.
My only wish was that right as they left the house Doris was waiting on the front porch and just starts ripping into Alma before anyone could do anything about it...that evil ass kid needed to be put down🤣🤣🤣
Yesss and if anyone should do it, it’s Doris
Doris needs to be the one to take her out. Like alma thinks she can manipulate her but Doris just munches on that kids head .
I don’t remember that! Guess I gotta rewatch lol
I've been saying that. Red tide will be a Harry script
If it is, (and I think it is too) that’s a really high bar they are setting themselves, a script written on the black pills.
I hope not, I don't want the aliens to just be in-universe fan fiction
Personally, I'm beginning to suspect that "Asylum" was Harry's script. Kit's wife was named after the little girl Alma, perhaps? And the aliens....
I literally just went to search for this to see if it was up and 1 minute ago!! Makes the drive home from work great :)

PLOT TWIST: Harry is the writer of all AHS seasons and this is why we never got to hear any of his stories.
YESSSSSS!
haha! Awesome.
Nah, Harry was a good writer.
I've heard a variation of this theory: _Death Valley_ is actually one of Harry's screenplays.
im so annoyed. this season started out so strong. episodes 1-3 were great, 4 was fine, 5 was great, and then 6 completely let me down. i was still waiting for more clarification about the pill, i thought there was gonna be some kind of twist regarding the pill because the information we've gotten about it throughout the season was kind of vague and some things didn't seem to add up. i hate how they killed off belle and austin, it seemed rushed. we never saw karens painting. we never got any kind of closure with doris's character. and how the other pills just magically made the pale people be able to fight the talented ones was not explained well at all, just seemed like a lazy way to make that part happen. and why didn't the pale people attack ursula? did she ever take the pill and we didn't see it? or they really just listened to her? seems weird.. and no revisiting lyme disease? overall im really disappointed with this last episode.
Same….it sucked
I felt exactly the same way. To me this was a wasted episode. I would have rather they ended with ep. 5 if they were not even going to try to wrap things up.
@@monicawood9942 i kept checking how much time was left because i was like no there has to be more.. and as it was getting closer and closer to the ending i was still holding on to hope, then it ended and i was in disbelief. after such a good season it almost feels like the writers have to know how bad the ending was. i don't understand how they watched it and decided that was the way to go..

The ending should've been:
One more moment with Lark sharpening Alma's teeth
Doris's revenge
Ursula taking the pill
The Chemist owning the baby and going back to the military, tying to Death Valley.
What are these plot holes?

@@fizzlepeach the sirens weren’t going to be for this season though lol. He made a poll to see what type of theme y’all want for one of the future seasons
Looks like the writers decided to joke at themselves in the finale. First five episodes were a genius masterpieces and the episode 6 shows what happens when you refuse from the pills.
Ooh, great observation!!
My theory the chemist is an escaped alien in disguise doing experiments on humans.
Tbh the only character that had a full character arch was Keren. Everyone else’s arch seemed rushed :(. Kinda upset because i really liked where it was heading but i guess its because there was only 6 episodes.
Yup
I thought this episode was just so boring. A lot of build up for, basically, a zombie apocalypse. I do wish we could see Alma after the Pale People takeover dealing with the fact that now her talent 100% doesn't matter
Right? Great point. They could have Alma v Ursula b/c in the end they had competing and opposite goals. Ursula throwing the pill out like candy and Alma simply would be back page news.
It’s just so stupid
Its not a zombie apocalypse, this disease only spreads through the pills, if they stop giving out pill there wont be more pale people… their number is fixed
It’s just as the Mayor in Jaws says. “They need those summer dollars!”
Your theory will be a lot better than what the writers actually come up with but your optimism is inspiring.
Lol that's the part you found hard to believe? 🤣
@@the_glitter_is in a show full of ppl drinking other ppl’s blood and the town is okay with it? No. But that’s the most “relatable” scene that didn’t ring true.

Props to Greg and Ryan for bringing the deep, funny and charismatic commentary to AHS!
So, was Alma still taking the pill because she was eating that guy's snack after she killed him. I didn't think they could stomach regular food while taking the pill. Or does she just like the taste of blood now and feels the need to feed just because she's pure evil?
She took what was his. It was metaphorical.
@@fizzlepeach still doesn’t match the story. Harry threw up when he ate normal food on the pill.
This!!! This is what I was saying. It would be impossible to show their masterpieces because it's subjective
This show just needs to end
I think Lily Rabe was just done with Red Tide. She had the 2nd half of this season to film as a different character. If Covid was the big issue then why did they film that ending in Hollywood with the Pale Face massacre. I mean don't risk the health of a bunch of extras? lol Yeah that's not nice if it was the case.
Different states have different requirements for filming during covid, but generally in most outdoor and open air scenes have more wiggle room for having more people in a scene.
thank you so much for this breakdown!
I would love to see Kit come into the picture since we are dealing with aliens.
I'm really hoping Death Valley ties in more heavily with Red Tide. There are so many loose ends!!
1. Doris isn't seen at all, and we need closure on her
2. (Sorry for the mini rant, I'm just a huge Billie Lourd fan and she is so underutilized in this season!)
3. Why are the pale people shown as sea creatures/sirens in the promos and are just literal zombies?
4. WHAT HAPPENED WITH KAREN'S MASTERPIECE?
5. What happened with Dot Marie Jones character?!
6. Alma needs to face some repercussions for how terrible she is (I'll be fine if she gets away with it mainly because it's AHS and of course she'd get away with it, but still)
A burger king ad immediately placed after that holden clip *perfection* 🤣
I understand that it was shot during a pandemic but I really feel that Doris needed her moment in this episode 😓
Yes that explanation was stupid they could have written out some of the pale people and had Doris there….fucking stupid
Just one little tie-in between Death Valley and Asylum, please 😁
Could Death Valley be the origin story of the little black pills...?
The “Winter Kills” convo wasn’t as off as you guys are thinking. When you pull up IMDB and go to this episode Billie Lourd is the face for this episode…it’s a weird nod to Cult but whatever…it had to be an intentional thing. Love when you guys do AHS 💜. Keep at it.
I felt like I was watching American Horror Stories not AHS. The finale pissed me off lol
This eph didn't show Alma with The Chemist and Eli so I'm going to guess she got busted for the murder of the competing violinist.
I hate that we have to guess. It's ridiculous lol
The same writers that made the Lost finale also wrote the Red Tide finale. Change my mind
Hell no the lost finale is great in my opinion I loved it this finale sucked
I would love for Death Valley to tie in with Asylum and the unresolved alien plot there. I too think the ending of part 1 felt rushed and contrived, with huge opportunities missed.
I don’t think The Chemist thought her vigilante plan through very well. I’m not sure it’s vigilante justice to get a killer cop off the street by…. making them more of a killer cop? She makes them more dangerous, more violent…. IDGI.
The town council meeting in the most recent ep. of American Horror Story explains SO MUCH about Unitarians.
I keep saying this lol but red tide and drive in take place in the same universe I my head.
The last scene in Hollywood reminded me of the Resident Evil movies.
Everything after they went to Hollywood was like a totally different show, and not in a good way.
Season 1 and 2 has good endings so did freakshow and cult
@E E apocalypse was awesome until episode 9…..not a fan of apocalypse ending
"It's been five years and it finally come undone" perfectly describes how one guy is bored out of his mind with the other's blabbering away.

This is how Rabbit Rabbit ended
Frankly it was easy to see coming Ursula and the Chemist would carry Alma home, considering they were the last with angles to play. Ursula even foreshadowed Harry's death when she read his last script and mockingly said he should kill himself it's so good.
Grossman, Ross, and Wittrock all carried home the finale of 1984, so it was no shock seeing their storyline accumulating together.
The real question here is what is their actual goal with the pill and connection to the government? The Chemist says they have a clearance and she even joked at the idea of creating a pill that will make them immortal, while Ursula narrates that only a few in history will know them, but at least now they're "leveling the playing field"
Belle Noire even says herself moments before her death that Hollywood was hated by the locals in the 1900s, and the seminar speaker mentions every actor needs a "craft"
Somehow I feel this season is possibly being setup to collide with Hotel, possibly even Asylum since we know there will be human experimentation worse than the Dr.
COACH BEISTE!!!! Best Glee character, by far (Also rip)
I didn’t catch “winter kills” was the episode name! It’s funny though because even though it wasn’t Cult’s Winter character it was Billie Lourd’s Character still that did give her the teeth that killed her dad 0.0 So in a weird way “Winter” did kill xD The name play this season is A+
Lately I’ve been wondering how can Ryan Murphy look at these endings and think they are great😐
I don’t think he does.
She reminds me of The movie the interview with the vampire.
Take a shot everytime this dude says pandemic
I know right.. it seemed like an excuse for the extremely lazy writing/plotting in this Finale. It was quite jarring.
I love that AHS doesn't always make sense and sometimes feels unfinished. It let's you use your imagination. It's a weird and quirky show with over the top stories, you really just have to roll with it to fully enjoy it.
There is nothing left to enjoy. This show has turned from ok to terrible
@@tsxtina2919 Can't relate 🤷♀️
@@abrielle13 then I’m afraid for your taste. I’m afraid you have none
@@tsxtina2919 No need to insult someone else's opinion. I enjoy it, so what?
I hope they tie in Evan Peters’ character from season 2 who got abducted at the end
Could Death Valley be a kind of Roanoke story, the black and white being the reenactment, or a straight up new story?
Please don’t let the second part be Harry’s “masterpiece” that he wrote 😂😂
I actually loved the ending.
This is how I wished Karen's story would ended:
Everyone is in a fancy museum, an art gallery.
How can it be the pandemic when this show has gone down in quality since Jessica Lange left??
@@tsxtina2919 facts. it’s just a mess and we continue to stay in this abusive relationship because the actors are so good.
@@isattathecreator I completely checked out after cult. I was like thanks but no thanks
I hope they revisit these characters a little bit in death Valley because none of the characters got their comeuppance
I knew from the beginning Part 2 would be better.
I still want a Creature of The Black Lagoon homage, but a lot more gory and fun!
I'm disappointed by the finale of Red Tide. The first five episodes were so good.
