The fact that I saw this movie last night, went to bed thinking about it, woke up still thinking about it & still excited, & STILL thinking about the movie later into my day & wanting to see it again to really get a better feel for it shows that this movie left a huge impression on me. I think I like it more than I thought I did & I truly think once the hype dies down & people see this movie for what it is, it will become a loved classic. I can’t wait to see what happens next & it’s weird because I’ve never had to wait because I’ve always had the sequels readily available! I’m so glad with how scary they made Michael again. For a while, I was no longer afraid of him but all that went down the drain after last night 😂 I know it’s still far away, but I can’t wait to see what they do for the blu ray release & hopefully the extended or deleted scenes they have on it! Thanks for the review & for making this journey even more fun for us halloween fans! 🤓🧡
Same! Michael was the one horror icon that always scared me, until about the time Resurrection came out and I was either desensitized to the character or just bored of the series by then. But tonight made me fear the bastard all over again! In fact, the impressive performance the original actor gave as Michael was one of the biggest surprises for me. Jamie Lee also surpassed my expectations, she was fantastic :D
I did the same thing! I couldn’t stop thinking about the movie and will watch it again! Come check out my Halloween fan film on my channel! Michael Myers is legendary
My favorite Laurie scene of the new movie it’s like the high school nerd geek came out for a split second and I really miss that Laurie ^.^ just wanted to hug her
Daniel Hammond I think its better than 1978... ik ik dont lynch me for saying it i think its amazing, if the comedy was out completely it would be even better
Just saw a little while ago I really enjoyed the movie I was laughing worried and suspended the whole entire time. A movie hasn’t really done that in a long time
@ALL IS WELL you want films like Wrong Turn? So inbred mutants killing travelers? Go check out it's inspiration, The Hills Have Eyes and that film's remake
@@JordanEppersonEveryAtomPhoto He is 61! In 1978 original he was 21 years old. 40 years later an he is a senior citizen that everyone would stay clear of.
I give it an 8.0 or an 8.5. Michael felt like the original Michael. James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle did an excellent job! The score was fantastic. The easter eggs were nice and didn't feel forced. There were a couple things here and there I was unsure about but overall this is absolutely the Halloween movie we needed.
GREAT MOVIE! Michael is fucking pure evil in this sequel. I loved how mad and angry he was in the movie (throwback to H6). Great review Mike and Jay!
The ending felt a little rushed. I would've ended it like this... (spoliers) After the house gets finished burning down. Laurie and her family are sitting in an ambulance car or somewhere then the fire fighters or somone tells them that they searched everywhere for any remains of mchael myers body and that they couldnt find any. Laurie, her daughter, and grandaughter looked shocked, and the granddaughter starts to cry just like laurie did in the first film. Then you cue the halloween score and michaels heavy breathing showing all the locations he was at, fade to black and roll the credits boom perfect ending.
Well his body is gone at the end if you see, and if you stayed to the very very end of the credits you hear his breathing, he’s still out there for sure
nah, we dont need things spoonfed to us. i like it being left ambiguous. (Also the reason its a little rushed is because they reshot the ending. The original ending was completely different and it had a bad reception from test audiences so they changed it)
@@TheTrickyShow1 naw the ending felt rob zombie ish. Like when laurie shot michael in the head and they never explained how he survived that hes just alive for some reason. Thats what I fear from this ending. If and when the sequal happens they wont give an explanation at all how he escaped which is stupid if they go that route. But I guess we will just have to wait & see what happens.
As an avid fan of the franchise, I enjoyed the HELL out of this movie. There were quite a few things I disliked, but I appreciate it for what it is and I can't wait to own it on Blu-ray! You guys got me seriously hyped for this movie and I was lucky enough to see it with my mom, who got me into horror a couple of decades ago by showing me the original Halloween. You guys made the experience even better than I could have asked.
One of the baddest ass scenes in any Halloween film is when Myers kills that kid with the motion lights, and allison comes to check, and he just appears behind the gate, then the shape stalks allison theme hits. HOLY SHIT goosebump moment. I agree with dave mcrae, they really didn't use a lot of him really hiding in the shadows, or even the use of lighting like the first one.
In my opinion, Myers was too quick. He didn’t take his time. It seemed out of character. I agree with you the film needed more atmosphere and physical suspense. Continuing, I also think the film has too many characters in the film. It resulted in less character development and relatability. To me it was that weird feeling that felt off. While I was watching the film I wasn’t scared and I believe it had to deal with Myers not stalking as much.
Kris - Myers takes It’s time to understand the situation and characters It’s stalking and without spoiling anything the ending shows what happens when The Shape doesn’t do that.
Re-watched it for about the 4th time now after going through all the Halloween movies for a binge. This is the first movie that it’s actually felt like the Michael from the original movie. This movie has gotten better every time I watch it. I had way to high of expectations going into this one.
Going into it, I was actually really nervous that he’d get fucked up, like his character would be messed up but I was definitely not disappointed. Michael was amazingly done! James was just awesome
I liked it A LOT more than the things I disliked (particularly one major thing) but BY FAR this is THE best Halloween sequel of them all. THIS was Michael Myers! Jamie Lee was great. Some characters I could've done without (The Dr and that whole thing). The music though!!! Loved it! The beginning scene was amazing! The whole theater applauded. I kept my expectations moderately level so I came out satisfied. I enjoyed it.
People have problems with the comedy and act like they take all the positives and take a shit on it, I can say The comedy is not hilarious but it doesn’t take me out the film. “I’m so disappointed that the film doesn’t kiss my ass.”
I love Halloween 2018 however I wish it was the official TRUE 3rd installment keeping Halloween 2 canon. Either way this is definitely a beginning of a slasher/horror resurgence. When It came out I waited for a very special day Halloween to go see and that for me was very fucking special to see Halloween 2018 on Halloween it definitely was special.

I just watched it yesterday- and as someone who is not...really thaaat much a fan of the series, I totally loved it. Especially the fact that John Carpenter re-used the original synthesizers is genius.
I loved the movie, I laughed out loud in the theater. During the gas station scene the documentary chick was walking into the gas station and Michael is walking into the garage and as she is asking where the bathroom is you can see Michael in the garage just brutalizing the mechanic. Just struck me funny.
If a Halloween film has a great Michael Myers and a great protagonist (Laurie) I'm happy. People are complaining of small stuff. You guys are true Halloween fans. Solid review. I also respect the fact that Jay saw the movie in a tie.
1. H1 '78 2. H2 '81 3. H2018 (grew on me amd moves up slightly in the ranking after a 2nd viewing) 4. Zombies H1 5. H4 6. All the rest are turds in the church punch bowl! Best Michael Myers performances: 1. Tie between Nick Castle and James Jude Cortney 2. Dick Warlock 3. The rest?.....put em in the punch bowl!!
Fucking wish I could watch H2 ( 1980) before Halloween 2018 !! I love Rob Zombie H1 but his H2 , graphically speaking , was great , but the story , yeah , not so much . What With the Loomis and the white horse and all . But , if people understood symbolism , they would appreciated that more . I think Zombie got pushed and rushed to get part 2 out , I guess the studio executives were just seeing $$$ . .
I agree with everything you guys have said the presence of michael was always there for me and yes when he first put on that mask holy shit i absolutely loved this movie totally badass!!!!!
Totally awesome. You guys rock. You totally hit it on the head. The movie was respectfully awesome. Gonna see it multiple times. Thank you guys for covering everything from start to finish. You were the only ones I trusted leading up to release. Bad ass. Good work. Keep it up. Rock on. Good wishes all the way from Alabama.
I loved this movie! I’ve never been in a theater scared of what’s happening in front of me while smiling like a little school girl! That’s how fun it was for me to see Michael Myers back. Only thing I really had an issue with was how they ended it. I don’t have an issue with how they did it, just that they made it clear this movie ignored all other sequels, and then ended in a very similar way to the original Halloween 2. But the motion sensor scene? Holy shit! Favorite part of the movie! Can’t wait to see it again!
I never got to see it in theater so I'm avoiding the spoiler review. I wish it was already on DVD/Blu-ray. I want to see it so bad. My college put it in their paper and shit all over the movie, but I'm glad that I chose to watch this.
The best Halloween sequel since H20, Jamie Lee Curtis is what makes this film exciting and engaging. For some reason, which I can't explain. I still prefer H20 over this one. Maybe because of LL Cool J, or Joseph Gordon Levitt, something about H20 to me was more rememberable.
Omg! We were cracking up several times at things that aren’t meant to be funny. Not because we were making fun of it, but because it was “such a Michael thing to do”. It’s the strategies of Michael that we don’t understand, but they’re only what he would do. I LOVE Michael, and this movie captured him so well. And yes, there was something I couldn’t put my tits on. Honestly, I think it’s how they structured it, the layout was weird. Also, I think they spent too much time showing unmasked Michael at the beginning and there were some purposeful jokes (that I laughed at but....)that took you out of the terror of the moment. But I LOVE IT and can’t wait to see it again and I want to see a sequel.
This was cool because we all got to see you guys film it live! Loved that shit and love you guys always! And goddamn i loved this movie! Just saw it an hr ago and it was great
Just came back from this. A few tiny things bugged me but overall loved it, would give a 7.5/10. And oh my God the score was just amazeballs. Can’t wait for your guys’ spoiler review!
Oh yeah. I give it an 8.3, in honor of my box-office prediction. The only problem I had with this movie (aside from an impossible coincidence, regarding the reporters and the gas station), was the Great Value version of Dr Loomis. His plotline was stupid. BUT...SPOILER...I didn't realize until an hour after I watched Halloween and although it was never confirmed in the movie itself, that Loomis Light had to have been the one who freed Michael on the bus. He wanted what the original Loomis experienced: Watching Michael Myers in an open environment, killing people, and to know what it feels like to kill. It's the only thing that makes sense, in regards to Michael Myers escaping from the bus.
The scariest part of the movie is that Michael Myers is human...because that is who I’m rooting for in every Halloween movie...and when he gets hurt in this new movie I’m screaming inside “Noooooooo”...I wasn’t worried in past films...but in this new movie I’m scared for him...”you can’t kill the boogeyman “ 🎃🔪
Caught this on the live q&a, cant wait for the live q&a spoiler review. This movie kicked ass! 99% of the negativity out there is people that cant see underlying themes. Someone missed out on critical thinking days! Who did you guys think was more brutal, H6 theatrical cut Michael myers, or Halloween 2018 Michael Myers?!
''AND WE HAVE SEEN THE COMING OF THE LOO0O0O0RD! '' This review is the dessert after the big meal. lmao! Great review. The movie was everything it set out to be: Something Special.
The guy in the truck at the end is Captain Spaulding he's gonna take em to the house of a thousand corpses, then u find out it's the jeepers creepers he wanted Mike's good eye
Halloween 2018 fucking rocks! I honestly don't see anything wrong with it. I thought it had great Halloween atmosphere. It's obviously different because we're used to the 80s Halloween movies and it's 2018 so it's a different time. But had that's feel still. A lot of heart for this movie which doesn't happen like ever! Love this movie!
i love how u scream michael's name..michaeeeeelll!!!! hahhahah....its like im a big michael jackson fan and its like hearing people scream His name...michaeeeellllll!! but then in yr case its like..michael always be doing something wrong..like in some of yr sketches..so freakin' funny lmao and break my back laughing ass..hahahhahah i love this shit :)
For the first time in years, I felt scared of Michael Myers again. There's so many scenes that are constructed so perfectly, from the way its shot to the sound design and score, that they feel like they were lifted straight from my nightmares (such as [minor spoiler] the bus crash scene, when the kid's dad leaves, and the kid finds himself alone, calling out for him. The shot of that kid and the totally empty road behind him gave me anxiety. And when Laurie is watching the bus leave the institution, it was crazy that you could legitimately feel how scared and anxious she was, knowing that Michael is on the bus and anything can happen.]) I don't care what anyone has to say, I loved the movie
And leaving the theater, on the way home I constantly had a feeling that something was in my backseat. A movie hasn't done that to me in a seriously long time
***SPOILER*** I read that when the film was screened and it got negative reviews they decided to add the new DoctOR. Originally it was Lauries fault that Michael Myers escapes, reason why she was at the Asylum that night and why the sheriff asks, "Why'd you do that?"
Said it before, saying it again. Its a good fucking movie, Michael was actually SCARY, brutal and aggressive as he was in H6, it had good actors. The mask looked good. It has it flaws with the doctor scene, but overall I enjoyed it. People who are disappointed should watch it a few times, it'll grow onto you. For me I'd rank it: 1) H1 2) H2018 3) H2 (not Rob Zombies shitshow) 4) H20 Beware, the king of horror has returned
So glad u guys enjoyed it I also loved it gonna be seeing this a few times in the next few weeks u hit the nail on head with review was pure excellence did everything we could ask for hope Jason gets some love like mickey got also if he doesn't get the love and dedication like mickey he hasn't got a chance in hell mikes got the title belt for now best movie in a long time
PJ Soles who played Lynda in the first movie, she is the voice of the teacher in the granddaughters school room.
Everytime Michael is on screen i honestly feel that evil presence in this film
The scene in the back of the cop car....actually freaked me out.
Great scene. Also the bus crash scene...
Yes! The suspense in most of the scenes were legit
NO FUCKING SHIT RIGHT!!!!

During the gas station scene the documentary chick was walking into the gas station and Michael is walking into the garage and as she is asking where the bathroom is you can see Michael in the garage just brutalizing the mechanic. Just struck me funny.
The little kid Vicky was babysitting was a fucking gangster! I loved him!
If a Halloween film has a great Michael Myers and a great protagonist (Laurie) I'm happy. People are complaining of small stuff. You guys are true Halloween fans. Solid review. I also respect the fact that Jay saw the movie in a tie.
I just watched it again for the second time and I’m still pumped.
When the drunk kid started talking to Micheal in the garden everybody watching the movie nearly died laughing 😂😂😂
love the way the doctor said "Michael?" the second time.
On repeat views you get what his stance is.
Homeboy running into the tree at 13:50 had me rolling 💀💀💀
Honestly I got a little teary eyed when Michael put on the mask!
Seeing it at 7:50 pm tonight
There is something at the end credits
1. H1 '78
2. H2 '81
3. H2018 (grew on me amd moves up slightly in the ranking after a 2nd viewing)
4. Zombies H1
5. H4
6. All the rest are turds in the church punch bowl!
Best Michael Myers performances:
1. Tie between Nick Castle and James Jude Cortney
2. Dick Warlock
3. The rest?.....put em in the punch bowl!!
Agree with all, except I would switch no.s 4 and 5 movies on my list
Change Rob zombies to H6 and you got something
badass list bro agreed
🎃🔪🎃
Zombies h1..lol.. what a crock
I think Zombie got pushed and rushed to get part 2 out , I guess the studio executives were just seeing $$$ . .
This movie was so good words can't describe how great it is.
I agree with everything you guys have said the presence of michael was always there for me and yes when he first put on that mask holy shit i absolutely loved this movie totally badass!!!!!
Great review guys. Glad you really enjoyed it! I did as well. Had a couple issues but Michael and Laurie were amazing.
Fuck yeah Alice! Stick around! Well be covering lots more horror goodness!
So So Glad Mike didn't Kill the Baby in the Crib! I wonder why he Killed the Dancer Kid, But not the Infant that would have been Disturbing
Also... the opening credits!!! The pumpkin...... and the score.... omg
The scene were Myers is doing stupid dance was hilarious lol
I loved this movie! I’ve never been in a theater scared of what’s happening in front of me while smiling like a little school girl! That’s how fun it was for me to see Michael Myers back. Only thing I really had an issue with was how they ended it. I don’t have an issue with how they did it, just that they made it clear this movie ignored all other sequels, and then ended in a very similar way to the original Halloween 2. But the motion sensor scene? Holy shit! Favorite part of the movie! Can’t wait to see it again!
Thanks for the review guys! I can't wait to see this later!:)
Maybe because of LL Cool J, or Joseph Gordon Levitt, something about H20 to me was more rememberable.
that one scene where michael ate that candy corn....
oh man! no one eats candy corn! michael is hardcore!
Just saw it an hr ago and it was great
@Nigel Nelson The Citadel?
Just watched this again over the weekend & this is hands down my 2nd favorite of the whole franchise 🎃🔪
Omg! Just saw it... have no words really. Need to see it again soon. So sad I will be working during Saturdays live stream. I will watch it back. ❤
I'm so glad you guys loved it ! I was nervous for ur review! Gonna watch it Saturday🎃
trust me when I see Michael on the screen I say "daddy" too....... I mean what?
Just came back from this. A few tiny things bugged me but overall loved it, would give a 7.5/10. And oh my God the score was just amazeballs. Can’t wait for your guys’ spoiler review!
My faith in modern horror has awoken and it took michael myers to do it
Glad you guys enjoyed it! I absolutely loved it, can't wait to see it again
Nigel Nelson that's so cool dude!
When Michael was staring Karen right in the face I was like 'OH SHIT'
My box-office prediction: 83 million this weekend.
Dang that is a HUGE number for this movie! I say 82 million tops
Michael leg pressed his doctor to death. Instant classic!
My body is ready
Seeing it tonight! Missing out on Game 7 of the NLCS to go see this because I've been waiting for this for a long time! Go Brewers!
GOTDAMMYOU MIIIKKEL!!!!111
Halloween II, Halloween, Halloween 2018. Top 3.
Yep
i love how u scream michael's name..michaeeeeelll!!!! hahhahah....its like im a big michael jackson fan and its like hearing people scream His name...michaeeeellllll!! but then in yr case its like..michael always be doing something wrong..like in some of yr sketches..so freakin' funny lmao and break my back laughing ass..hahahhahah i love this shit :)
Old man Michael is vicious. Loved the movie so much
For the first time in years, I felt scared of Michael Myers again.
A movie hasn't done that to me in a seriously long time
Who else almost shed a tear close to end when Michael was -- (don’t wanna spoil) but man I almost did!
Fuck yeah! great movie, great review. Sad I missed the live chat you guys did. I am going to see the movie again tonight and tomorrow lol
***SPOILER***
I read that when the film was screened and it got negative reviews they decided to add the new DoctOR.
For me I'd rank it:
1) H1
2) H2018
3) H2 (not Rob Zombies shitshow)
4) H20
Beware, the king of horror has returned
So glad u guys enjoyed it I also loved it gonna be seeing this a few times in the next few weeks u hit the nail on head with review was pure excellence did everything we could ask for hope Jason gets some love like mickey got also if he doesn't get the love and dedication like mickey he hasn't got a chance in hell mikes got the title belt for now best movie in a long time
