City & guilds seems to be so inconsistent with their papers. This paper seems loads harder than the previous ones I've been working through. Sometimes I feel great when I revise and now im terrified lol!
I took £100 as an example to show the steps. Yes, £21 has been given but that is the price after the 30% discount, so it would have been harder to understand what the original price was. With the way the question is written, it does not matter what number you use.
I said thousands have 3 digits (and these can be zeros) but as we were given 6.2 that means one of the digits is taken up by the 2. 6.2 thousand is just over 6000, exactly 6000 and 200, which is written as 6200.
It must because of scale. When you have a map or scale drawing, the actual measurements are not included as they would be too big to fit on paper. So a scale is used to tell you how much bigger smth is real life, in comparison to the measurement on paper.

@@MarsMaths so can we use 100 rather than 21 in real test paper as well?
Yes, of course.
@@AliPrince0916 No!
@@MarsMaths It does! At this level, students have to be able to calculate reverse percentages.
Hi, Which exam body you find more difficult ? NCFE or City and guilds?
They both cover the same content. Some find the NCFE questions quite wordy but others like that it has context in the question, so it depends really.
How come on Q1 you said that thousands have 3 zeros but then you put 2 zeros ?

Mars maths yayyy xx

@@MarsMaths 🥰
you don't teach properly, some parts you don't even explain how you came up with certain answers, you make it look so difficult.
I dont understand why you used £100 to work out discout. I used £21 in question 7
You can use that as well. I was just trying to make it easy for some but both are acceptable.
Ahh, thank you 😀
@@MarsMaths thank you very much, i was stressing about that.
@@MarsMaths Not according to the mark scheme, they want you to use the figures given.
Was difficult for me some part completely don’t understand
I dont understand why use the 2cm = 1 m
