I used to have a Paradise fish when I was a kid- he used to glare at us whenever we came into the room and he once jumped out of the water to bite my brothers finger. We called him Jaws. I loved him so much lol.
Lisa KGTropicals thank you Lisa, that means the world to me!!! I asked John if he could look at my channel and maybe give me some pointers!! I am so excited!!
Hi Susen, I found your channel after UA-cam recommendation. I browsed your channel and found this video on Paradise fish care quite interesting. Never kept these fish before. Nice intro about your channel. I wish to visit your channel more often for videos on species spotlight. Liked and Subscribed to your channel.
@@QueAquatics She is having fun harrassing my goldfish at the moment... I'm planning on getting more as soon as possible, the pet shop had her all on her own an she was begging to come home... her colour is just starting to come in, (was obviously stressed from her bag ride home) and now I'm actually confused as to whether she is a female or not. I think I'll message you a picture.
Just for temperature info, they go way lower.... they can accurately be kept in ponds outside all year. In Canada and Scandinavia. When the surface of the water freezes over (a bit higher than that even) they stop using the labyrinth to breath and start using their gills. And goes in to winter hibernation. Very underrated fish and a good pond fish if you don’t want or can keep koi.
Thanks Suzy my male is the tank boss with angels and when my corys are spawning he tries to break it up. He’s terrible! I had a gold gourami with him but had to move it out of the tank.
Thanks. I was thinking of getting these, I have Indian glass fish, I wonder if these will go with them. As far as the eggs are concerned couldn't they be put in an internal fish 'house'?
Your paradise fish look like they get along well in a group, is that normal. In my 65g tank amung other fish I have a beautiful red beta. Then later, wanting more color I added a honey gorumie...opss I should of checked first the compatibility. It was only a little issue for a couple of days...now they seam to careless about each other and just go about their day. Would I be pushing my luck to add a Paradise fish? Or more Honey gorumies?
I love parasites fish I use to keep them they all gone to fishy haven now well it was back in the 80s. I tried to get more but not seen them anywhere for years now In the UK😕 it's like they have gone out of fashion here. Witch is sad because I keep fish because I like them not for fashion. 😊👍
The aggression while breeding can't be understaded. The male managed to bully his female so hard, that it rather jumped out and got taken by the neighbors cat, than staying in the pond with him. The pond is somewhat like 3x 2 meters large and they were the only 2 fish in there
Hi, I have a pair spawning. Can I move the eggs into an egg tumbler and would you recommend raising the fry in a breeder box. How often will they spawn again ? Thanks
so awesome! i kept the eggs in the tank as the male gets so paternal but I had to remove the female almost instantly. I didnt remove the male until after the fry was free swimming
not a beginner fish, or community fish, best kept, alone, or they way you have them., I have both regular and albino strains, keep them away from dwarf gouramis, and tiny fish
it would depend on the temperature. I would imagine some months would be super hot and others could be much cooler. What kind of fish and what is the climate where the green house is located? I live in PA and the temperature swings are pretty severe.
Every time I keep Paradise Fish, they just end up bloated. It's really getting frustrating because I don't know what's going on. None of my other fish are bloated.
Love the Paradise and their history! THANK YOU Paradise Fish for being a cornerstone in our hobby 👍
hhaha you are too funny! thank you
Love that last shot you got in there with the fish being curious about the camera.

If they start mating, it could get rough

that is such a shame :( these guys are so awesome. thank you
Go to Maidenhead aquatics, I saw them there today
Can Paradise fish work with smaller community fish like neon green rasboras or neon tetras?
Mine would eat anything he could catch

Wow,that’s aggressive
I enjoyed your video. Would it be possible to keep 3 females in a 29G?
Absolutely
great job! considering doing something similar.
Awesome! With the Paradisefish or another species?
I just added 5 to my goldfish/minnow pond here in FL. We're going to see what happens 😎
Who don't need a lil Suzy Q in their life , THATS MY QUESTION!

Great advice! Thanks
Would they pair well with blue rams??
Not when they are mating, I found them to be very aggressive
GOOD👍🐠👏😄
thank you
It’s ok to have a group of them together?
I raise all the fry together with no issues but once they start spawning then they get more protective
@@QueAquatics well that sucks for me. I’ve got a 20 tall that’s empty and been thinking of a group of paradise fish in there
That is what I used! You should be good
Are you trying to breed them? Just keep an eye on them
@@QueAquatics I would love to. Basically, I found them on ebay. Someone's selling a group of 8 I think for not a bad price.
Can I keep these fish in a greenhouse?
it would depend on the temperature. I would imagine some months would be super hot and others could be much cooler. What kind of fish and what is the climate where the green house is located? I live in PA and the temperature swings are pretty severe.
