Hi everyone! I have heard his music first time early 1980s at a professor's installation at Uppsala University. I talked to the conductor and he told me that yes, he is unknown but he discovered him. He was a a Swede, church composer and wrote a few pieces. I talked to Radio Sweden and they played once a nice piece of Zander... Unfortunately, there are very few pieces that are known to a few people... To me, he is a kind of Mozard/Haydn composer and I love it!

Zander is an unknown composer for me. His music shows that the classic symphony was in the atmosphere of the time. Haydn and Mozart brought at the masterpiece level a formula that was becoming standard with a good level, since this syphony by Zander is not negligible at all. The themes are well drawn, the develoments are logical, the overarching form is firm. We find that just a spark of genuis is lacking to get a Haydn's symphony. Thx for downloading.

In slight movements J.D.Zender shows interest in the involvement of horns,
common in the school of Mannheim.

This is a pleasant enough Haydn clone. Thanks for the upload.

Fantástica composición...de un genio desconocido absolutamente (no puedo entender que no programen a estos "desconocidos" más a menudo en las salas de concierto...¿será por un asunto mercantil o que estos nombres "raros" no pegan?)
