Thank you to Chuck and Kajira for putting on this epic event every year.
Omg I could watch this forever!
I must've watched this about 500 times since it's been posted...totally blown away and inspired. I've been dancing for over a year, and this just pushes me to dance for an eternity. THANK YOU.
I love how all dancers have such diverse bodytypes and they all look so beautiful
Ahh, I really miss dancing!
Tell me about it! I have damaged my knees due to belly dance! There is not any cartilage left----OUCH!
molarmama32 possibly due to dancing, but damage to knees more likely done through the weight training you admit to doing.
Anne's favourites OOPS!!!
Jonathan, THANK YOU so much for your post! So happy you like it and that this new work is still inspiring you, posts like yours inspire me to keep working too, so let's keep inspiring each other!
This never fails to blow my mind. I can't remember how many times I've watched this and nearly been moved to tears. The choreography is so inspiring, and the musicality blows me away. THANK YOU for creating this RB!!
Rachel is like silk. Smooth and refined movements that I find most impressive.
There's a black girl in there! and shes Awesome!
One of the best performances Ive seen, I loved every moment of it. Everything flowed so well, the costumes were amazing, you are all so talented. Beautiful job ladies, keep up the awesome work, I always look forward to seeing new performances! Stunning job as usual Rachel, loved it!
Rachel's tribe is fabulous. The variety and precision make this theatrical blend a new pleasure.
i dont dance tribal but holy crap that was awesome
Rachel, you, Zoe and Mardi are the reason I dance today. Any talent I have, I owe to you three. This video encompasses the epitome of everything about your style that drew me to learn tribal fusion, and you've given me the motivation to keep trying. In other words, THIS IS F***ING AWESOME. Musicality=mind BLOWN
Hi there! All the music is in the description for your enjoyment!
Adore This Beautiful Set! Especially Solo:) ❤ ❤ ❤
Laura, that's how dancers encourage eachother. We zagh, yip, and call out to show our gratitude and admiration. We dont do it for the benefit (or bereftment) of the audience. It's part of the culture of the bellydance community. As long as there's a dancer on stage and one in the audience, there's going to be noise. It's how we roll. It's our way of saying "fuck yes!". If you got on stage, you'd get how exhilarating it is to have fellow dancers that you've never met encouraging and loving on you
Wow. After a baby and some health setbacks, I've almost given up on dance. Watching this makes me want to go back and go all out! The precision, the skill, wow....I loved this. This is truly poetry in motion....
I want one of those pants >:L
The trio performance just rocked my world...so amazing!
Each time I watch this I am stunned at the incredible artistry and exquisite dancing.
Glorious costuming and phenomenal choreography.
Rachel, you are such an inspiration to me.
I dream of being a part of a group of dancers like this one day, to be as accomplished and studied in the art form that would allow me the ability to dance like this.
For now, I dance on my own, in my little living room and dream.
Love you Rachel! Your dancing is beyond description.
I cannot think of anything not to love here.. The music, the costumes, the choreography, the love, the sisterhood ... It's a treat. It's been a while since I've experienced this 'total experience', I was in tears and smiling at the same time.. Ashley's group piece and Rachel's solo were amazing. so powerful, it's everything that's good about belly dance wrapped up together :)
Beautiful, earthy, having ethereal moments. Excellent WORK!
fantastic to see this whole performance through. well done all.
You were awesome Morgan!!! I miss dancing with you out here!!!
A performance close to my heart
Love that RB (and now Kami Liddle) are doing student troupe performances like this one. Brava, ladies!
Rachel, this set is so incredibly polished and professionally performed. Thank you for keeping such an amazing standard. You can tell how much pride each and every dancer puts into her performance. Delicious! Keep it up! :)
Is there a photo of the icon at the beginning of this video? I would love nothing more than to have that tattoo'd somewhere.
Absolutely beautiful! Everything I love about this style is right here- gorgeous women with even more stunning costumes, and the elegant strength and grace to dance so wholesomely. I loved the opening and trio pieces; the trio in particular looked like goddesses or the three fates!
I could watch this over and over and over and over and over again. Sigh...
Who in God's name would give thus a thumbs down? This is mesmerizing and brilliant beyond words.
maybe it's because of the audience noises...
libragemleo was still great. I just can't get over the costumes and choreography. They probably couldn't help the hooting and hollering, seeing it live must have been electrifying....
libragemleo
"The audience noises" are what we do in this scene. It's meant as approval and encouragement -- the highest compliment.
myrawtransformation It's the same in North west Morris Dancing. We even include in the dance itself when appropriate.
I'm speechless...It is so beautiful, original and joyful....I am touched deep inside. Thank you, Rachel!
Excellet show you can have a show in Las Vegas, beutiful performance!!! Gettings from Guatemala.
amazing talent by all these ladies.........much love & respect out to you all
hey guys, does anybody know the name of the track that starts at 6:42m with the solo performance? I looked up the name "Mecanic Pupet" but I couldn't find anything.
I'm pretty sure 988 of those viewings are mine :)
you guys were amazing, i love RACHEL BRICE
pure loveliness....I get this feeling of Metropolis - esque vintage vibe, elegance, and anjoy the interesting choreography that retains that fine art of bellydance. definitely feeling it all ~
I LOVE the medallion belts you all have on in the last song! Is there any where to purchase them?
FABULOUS performance!!!
wow, that trio was the business! nice job Rachel... everybody was gorgeous
Damn, Rachel's solo was so badass! I'm thoroughly impressed with her troupe as well. I wish I could dance with them! :D That would be so much fun.
Wonderful! A very talented group of ladies. Wonderful entertainers as well.
quiet frankly, all the "yips and yipes" from various audience contributors are extremely immature and unnecessary in the quiet parts of the dance - they detract and break the meditative beauty of the still moments and the delicacy of the music. These ululations should be reserved for drum solos and wild parts of dance, ONLY...
I thought I was the the only one with that opinion
Goldangel45 We are never alone in our opinions, but finding others who are also not mediocrities may be the most daunting task of our lifetimes.
I will start by saying I don't know jack about this kind of dance or this kind of audience. That said, I kind of thought it added to it. Seemed like a cultural thing. and I think in a strange way it makes it seem more authentic. It reminds me of going to my church (A black church) where people commonly speak out while listening to the preacher "PREACH!" they say and "MMmmhmmmm" agreeing with what he has to say. Which I never minded though some people went overboard. I think its similar.
Black people also try to sing along with the choir even when its not invited and yell Yes jesus! during the best parts of the song. I never minded. I am half black by the way.
Mhkail Reilly That is very true, when one is at events such as this, and watching a group as Dynamic and moving as Datura and Rachel Brice, you cant HELP but "talk" as you watch them perform.
***** Sorry, I forgot to mention that I was trained by Arab dancers two decades ago and have danced at least 350 performances, 150 of which have been for totally Arab audiences. I don't need to be educated on performance or culture. I am steeped in it. Read carefully my original post, looking at all the words. Arabs know when to make noise in a performance and Americans always seem to overdo it to the extreme.
so awesome!!!! wish you was in southern Indiana!!!!! Would so love to learn!!!
Screaming and yips do not a zaghareet make.
Thank you!
I keep thinking of Russian Nesting dolls when I watch the second performance! It is one of the most unique things i have ever seen in my life! you inspire me much Rachel! Love you!!!
18 people currently are unhappy with their lives .
What a beautiful job!
Very lovely. almost trance inducing!!
Stunning!
I *just* started Tribal, level one, and holy wow - this was amazing! Glide and Mechanic Puppet blew my mind! I hope to someday be that graceful!!

Oh Rachel.... words fail me. Your dance fills my heart - it's elevating! Please please consider one day in one happy not too distant future to allow me to bring your Beautiful Self to Bali, if the Island of the Gods is in any way enticing... I am a friend of Colleena and Sedona :)
Thank you - Love - Jai Ma!
Hi Naomi, there is! It's the profile pic on Datura's main page: facebook (dot) com (slash) studiodatura, which is where you should post a photo when you do it!
This is one of the most amazing group of belly dances I've ever seen. Thanks so much for sharing!
I love thirt music but I can't find it in youtube. Where can I downoland it? Please, send me a link in my channel :)
Oh that was so well done...very beautiful work.
I like to hire them for my BDay to they charge per hour?
You can google red lengha and you'll be able to find something similar to what they're wearing. They usually come with a choli or kameez. The bra is something you could make yourself or purchase from an online retailer. The belt is also something that you'd have to purchase separately. Hope that helps.
It really bugs me that I can't find skirts like the ones @ 10:15...I'm assuming you have to pay BIG bucks for one because the ones I get never have enough flowing material at the bottom :/. I'd be happy if I could just find one!!!! BEAUTIFUL PERFORMANCE THO!!
Ok I got them goose pimples...wow what a combo and choice of music...enthralled..Hey Rachel.. I have signed for your online Tutorials ..am lovin it..
Well, I could say something about the freaking amazing dancing, but right now I'm wondering if there's any stills with closeups of those skirts from the last dance. ;)
My brain just exploded.
I cant find any of the music on youtube anywhere else i could get a hold of it?
P.s making choreo for the second song inspired by you rachel(:
Hermosas coreografías ! Hermoso vestuario !
Oh! One last thing so that people can find the song : Glide is actually by "Felix's Machines". Took me awhile to find it, but I did. :-)
you are amazing!!! a true and constant inspiration!
speaking of the middle trio piece (with headdresses) by the way, in my comment below, though the whole presentation is a class act!
I adore Rachel, she and Zoe are my role models. I absolutely love this performance. Does anyone know the name of the song they bow and exit stage with??
Wow this is amazing
I will never ever get sick of watching this! EVER!
Wonderful Performances!
Love Love Love you ladies !!! I hopethat you have a workshop inCharlotte NC soon. If so count me in !!!!!!!
Particularly loved the second section, not that I didn't think it was all amazing but it was an amazing piece of choreo.
Where can you finde the opening "song"? Its stuck in my head 24/7, and i cant finde it D: S-O-S!!
Mecanic Puppet by Arure (not Aurure) ;-)
Very beautiful, thanks Datura dancers and Rachel Brice
Wow! this was fabulous, in every way! :)
they should have used a more dramatic light with the three ladies,
but great anyway!
So pure and original!!!From it's routes to today, and conversely...just like " Ἐν Ἀρχῇ Αἰτεῖσθαι " (Petitio principii) !!!!!Bravo girls and Rachel you are so creative...keep dancing and creating!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Oh my god I love you even more Rachel for having Prince Charming as your exit music. xo
What's Rachel's exibition music?
Dearest Rachel:
GOD Bless your hips as my teacher, costume designer, dear Ms. Penny Lobello would say. She did the costumes for Serena Wilson and other greats. I love what you have done for the dance. I have been dancing since '79. If I am NOT perfect I will not disgrace my audience, despite what Copeland has said! Bless, Datura and keep up the work! You are wonderful!
ok it is settled. I am so going to take a workshop from you someday :-).
Done, thank you! Arure, not Aurure.
hola rachel...me gusta muchisimo lo que aces...me parec inposiblo poder llegar a acer eso...enorabuena...te sigo siempre..gracias de existir...,kissssssss
you are a genius, one of ones, an enlightened one, the visionary, the seer, the knower. thank you. gods light incarnated. love you
Thank you for solidifying your awesomeness. :) I hope to meet you someday. I've met Zoe, and that was already mind-blowing, so I'm not even going to try pretending like I won't geek out when I get to attend one of your workshops, lol. If Zoe remembers me, it'll probably be as "the kid who stood and stared at me for ten seconds without breathing when he recognized me". You will have a similar story to tell, I'm sure, lol.
hi rachel brice hugs to you i love it
When I first watched Datura performance from TF12 I was blown away and was wondering what would you ladies have in mind for TF13 and oh wow ... seriously nailed it! This is even more awesome than the TF12 (don't get me wrong, please I do love the TF12 piece but this one is LOVE! (with all the capital letters hehe)
I love you all! One day I will dance at Tribal fest. It is a dream of mine.
Such incredible talent and beauty. I am awed.
Awww,pure tribal
My gawd, I'm so inspired by you and your dance, Ms. Brice! I started taking up belly dance when I saw some of your work in a mix on YT. I love the way you move, very snake-like and precise, and will definitely keep on dancing! I look forward to (hopefully) getting a chance to meet you. Thank you for being the dancer you are!
Thanks for the inspiration AGAIN!
Thank you Rachel and Datura!
Wow, that was amazing! Can I please ask the name of the first song that the larger group danced to? Again, awesome job. Thanks. :)
What's name of frist tabla song? thnks
So beautiful in many ways! The way you all look like one while dancing, but u can still see what makes all of you unique. Incredible what you do, my favorite form of art. I hope I could get the chance to be part of the audience in one of your performances. You are just fantastic!
my God. I always love you, Rachel... When I saw you in Viareggio, this year, I was so happy... LOVE LOVE LOVE, GODDESS
But what about the trio???? O_O three aliens queens!!!!!!!!!!!
The only comment that can be done is by practicing
Thank you for keeping orientalism in the dance! The beginning reminds me a bit of Hahbi Ru. *Sniff*
Beautifully done, I got butterflies in my tummy watching this!
