  • The flutter kick is the most important and basic diving technique that you will learn while using your fins. Flutter kicking is essential for every part of freediving - from safety to performance dives. To make the most out of your fins, you must have good technique and feel efficient and comfortable in the water.
Multiple Canadian National Record Holder and Molchanovs W4IT Matthieu Duvault has been teaching freediving full-time for seven years. He believes that a structured teaching approach will help students aim at mastering the most important points of each level. Because of this, he created Advanced Freediving Preparation, a paid program on the Base Training + platform, to help students prepare for the Wave 2 course.
In this first session snippet, you’ll see Matthieu focusing on mobility, diving technique, ankle mobility, and drills you can practice at home to train flutter kick technique for Dynamic and Constant Weight Bifins.
In the full 4-week program, you:
    - Focus on breathing techniques that include 3-section control, visualization, and full and empty lung exercises
    - Practice CO₂ tolerance with a better understanding of the urge to breathe and controlling it without discomfort
    - Work on shoulder, ankle, hip, pelvis, and spine mobility
    - Review control over equalization technique
    - Analyze videos and practicing exercises for DYNB, DNF, FIM, CWTB, and CNF
The Advanced Freediving Preparation program is:
    - Fully accessible from your smartphone, tablet, computer, or television
    - No equipment or buddies are required

Hi! Thank you for this very informative and helpful video. Can these exercises help to prevent leg cramps while diving? I'm a newbie in freediving and leg cramps has been my problems ever since I started diving. What advice can you give me to prevent this problem from happening?

I have the same problem with calve cramps and I was told by my free diving instructor that my finning technique is not as good as it could be. The poor form from somewhat bicycling was causing the cramps. I am very thankful for stumbling upon this video. Thank you for making it!!
