Yep, my 2000 has 260k on the odometer and I drive it 120 miles a day to work and back. Mines not nearly as pretty as this one but it will be one day. Mine is the Classic in Patriot blue.
Very nice work. Told my wife I wanted to buy it, but she said we don't need another jeep.... The only thing I really don't like is that you kept the Dana 35 rear axle, and I assume you did that to retain the ABS brakes. (?) But I would much prefer ABS be deleted and put in a C8.25 or Dana 44. Otherwise I love what you've done.
I have a set if you are near central Ohio. They're like brand new. They came off of a Wrangler right after it was bought. I'll have to look to be sure but I'm thinking I have all five wheels.
For those who think $35,000 (or even a bit more) is too much for a fully restored, better than factory Cherokee XJ consider this: The MSRP on my 1998 Cherokee Classic including the options (A/C, ABS and the amazing NP242 Transfer Case with the "Full-Time" (All Wheel Drive) feature was about $26,000. In 1998. According to the Consumer Price Index calculator $26,000 in June of 1998 is the equivalent of $44,118 today. I think buying a better than new XJ, hand-rebuilt Cherokee today without all the modern car crap that will fail, for a full $10,000 less than what the new price was, is the bargain of the century.
Somebody going to Really Really enjoy this XJ✌️😎
This Jeep is BEAUTIFUL. I will have one of these, this thing will outlast any new vehicle out there.

I like this one so much! Hopefully I can afford one some day.
Anyone know what the price range commonly is for one of these Davis builds?

It isnt better than factory though... For example: The passenger door panel is cracked.
