I like simple flies and often wonder how much of the fancy embellishment is really necessary on the more complex patterns. Think that as long as the key triggers are present in the fly and it fishes properly it will catch fish. Like this one, thanks for posting Mak!
In the US trout fishing, I caught three rainbows in a row 14-16” on a elk hair caddis which the elk hair and the legs were gone after said third! Went ahead with what was left and caught two more with the hook and green thorax only, which was a pretty simple fly in the end! Just goes to show!
I don’t know why but these ‘skinny’ and basic style of flies have always been attractive to my eye and I guess similarly to the fish. I suppose it’s largely because it looks like an early stage bug pattern so is attractive to the fish as an all round bit of dinner! lol All good then so I’ll say thank you for another one dude. They’re always appreciated. 😊😊😊
Oh, it's a complicated question friend, when I was learning I started with Buzzers, then took it further, As for Materials, I suggest ( Marabou, Peacock , Pheasant Tail, Hen Cape) Feathers 👍👍👍👍
Most buzzers are extremely thin. Personally I even on the unvarnished dressing would still varnish the head slightly. So why do most anglers make the leap of reasoning that their best and most beautiful rendition of that same buzzer is the equivalent of a eight hundred pound super model? It is almost like. Ok you want a single thin slice of ham in a sandwich. Ok the whole pig is walking over there. Here is two slices of bread just put a slice on each side and enjoy.
Marvellous! Simple and elegant. I like the addition of small breathers to buzzers (we call them midges/midge larvae in Australia).. Thanks . :-)
Thank you Terry, I am glad you like them, you are right these are the Midge Larvae :))
Very nice. I will use this pattern. Thanks for sharing.
