up to the moment when I became aware of it I haven't had any troubles or problems with it. everything was normal for me, and I embraced my gift afterwards. now I can't imagine the world/life without music :)
I have many forms of synesthesia, and all but the slicing of the words (tasting words) are described in this video. I find that this was a very creative and accurate way of showing the abilities of those with synesthesia, such as myself.
That's crazy! This video has the same title as my new album, Synesthesia. This awesome video Terri made visually expresses all the concepts of this condition. You can download the title track for free at my website.
@CandyBekah, Synesthesia is when the senses get mixed up, you maybe f.x. taste sound or hear taste, and this film is portraying the oddness of this "disorder"
Fantastic! Finally a video that really captures Synesthesia. Well, how I experience it anyway. I saw the 3 S's before the 5's. My S's are dark blue so when they appeared as yellow my stomach instantly knotted. One of the downsides of Synesthesia.
This video makes more sense if you look up the definition and/or looked at biographies about people with Synesthesia. Also if you watch the video more than once you start to get it than the first time you watched it.
The color of the letter A is Red and I am so happy you brought it up. Since childhood I had thought the number 1 is also Red and so on. My color chart would be 1 red 2 orange 3 yellow 4 brown? 5 light green 6 and I get lost now because of being an electrician.
AMAZING! As a Film Student in LA who is very interested in Synesthesia I just want to say GREAT JOB!!! Props to your DP! Win any festivals with this one?
@JBieberFanLuv The two boys each have a different kind of synaesthesia... the one on the floor is smelling records and saying what color they smell like (so he perceives smells as colors), and the one with the headphones is 'listening' to the different foods (he perceives taste as sound). The stuff with the giant speakers shows how sound can be perceived as different colors, shapes or textures. It's a pretty fascinating condition, especially to live with. :)
Very interesting, though I'm absorbed in the song. Was it created specifically for the video, or was the video edited to match the song? Either way I wish I had the song :/
this video is amazing i am soooo sorry i wanted to click on the play button by mistake it clicked on the 1 star !! wtf :( i wanted to giv it 5 starsss yoo !! Amazing work !!
subtitles are always inaccurate, because often there is simply no room to put all the text. how inaccurate is it? subtitles are supposed to be summaries of what is being said.
a great short film, one that requires some effort or the average person to appreciate. a note on the translation though, which does bug me a little since i think i know the language being spoken (Cantonese, but with a weird skewed accent)... that the subtitles are inaccurate.
This is really neat! I'm wondering if I have slight synesthesia as I've been noticing that I smell (and taste, to a degree) things that I see, so I'm doing some research on it...looks like I'll never know for sure if I have it but it's still kinda neat to be able to smell colors and things I see on the computer, things that wouldn't have a real smell. This video smells like mild curry powder. Hehe. :)
My teacher handed us a packet on it to write a review on in English class. I flipped out. I was like "This doesn't happen to everyone?! WHAT COLOR IS THE LETTER A?!" And everyone was like "-______- It doesn't have a color" And I was like "I'm special =D" Synesthesia for life.
You probably will never get it, if you do not have synesthesia! Did you see all three S's at the beginning? Most likey all you saw was a screen of 5's...I see fives as the colour blue and my S's are a pale orange. I detected the S's before they appeared highlighted in yellow. Some people taste words, and hear colour.
One- Yellow Two- Red Three- Light Green Four- Purple Five- A Golden Yellow sort of color Six- Light Blue Seven- Dark Blood Red Eight- Dark Green Nine- A Lemon Yellow Ten- A Light Grey

If anyone was curious what the boy was saying when smelling the discs.
he was saying the colour red, blue, yellow and finally pink in Cantonese.

Oh My God!! This is the best video I have ever seen!!! EVER!!!
That's crazy! This video has the same title as my new album, Synesthesia. This awesome video Terri made visually expresses all the concepts of this condition. You can download the title track for free at my website.
super cool! perfect artistic interpretation of the Synesthesia condition

Man, is it just me or does anyone else think that synesthesia is one the coolest neurological conditions ever?

Nice piece of work, being a sinnie myself I loved it!
Haha, I love Terry Timely's work.

I actually got a chance to see this installation.
Very awesome :)

Great work!!!!
Idk wtf I just saw but it was pretty unique to say the least.
A staid approach on a dynamic subject with unlimited potential. It carries with it the seeds of inspiration, Thanks for the window and your view
When I hear it I see black and grey popping shapes, and some thin snaps. Its really hard to describe.
if your synesthetic, what would fire taste/hear/smell/sound/look like?
totally rad.

does that mean you see them in colours? or what?
THIS IS GREAT!

@TheWarnerSister the whole family has it, the mother tastes words, and the father sees sounds
there is so many people with synesthesia ,this is just awesome!!
was it red?
there's something wrong with my speakers, I don't see shit coming out of them while I stab all food in my house with the jack plug
honestly i like it. it feels normal for me and its unique
@YBBALOL What is it like?
I am watching this again :3
what`s the name of the song that starts at 2:00 ?
the color of the song didn't match the color of the video
for people who don't know what synesthesia is, the video would be super confusing..
this was one of the most peculiar videos I've seen ..

A good replacement If conversation in families stopped
The woman who's slicing the words means that she can taste words when she reads them.

Synesthesia for life.
You definitely have a small case of Synesthesia. I made a short film on Synesthesia as well (It's on my profile)..
But this film is much better.
You probably will never get it, if you do not have synesthesia! Did you see all three S's at the beginning? i liked it very much.gj.

This is really awesome and all, don't get me wrong, but seeing all of that food get wasted is kinda hurts me as a chef...T↔T
Eew.. 8 as purple is soo ugly.. my 8 is definitly black. Do you do days, months and years as well?? :) what about people´s personalities?
hey, I see 8 as purple!
I see 8 as brown.
@HaoSci Google SYNESTHESIA and find out for yourself?
Red is most likely A.
at 2:15 he's listening to katy perry
@DaPeffa So you would look in the mirror and think, what's that blue smell...err, it's me.
um synesthesia would fuck your day up if you tried hallucinogens like lsd or shrooms.
SOOOOOOOOONNNGGGGG!!?????
trololololo
