Not being negative, but a few useful points. You don’t need to drain the oil, it’s lower than that casing when on the side stand. Never lever off a casing, tap around it with a rubber mallet. Far too much sealant, remember what excess squeezes out of the casing, also squeezes the same amount inside. It only takes one bit to drop inside and you could be in serious trouble.
It was a while ago that I did this repair so I don’t really remember. However If you watch the video, at around 23 mins in you can see I am having the same issue. I state in the video what you need to do with the clutch selector to get it to go on. Good luck!
Hi, the short one I use is a 3/8” and the big one (if I used it in this video) is a 1/2”. Key thing to look for is a good range of torque. Make sure it goes as low as you need as well as high enough. I think mine are fairly budget ones, maybe Silverline or something? Amazon sells loads, most will be plenty good enough for this kind of job but for low torque you will probably need a 3/8”. 😁
How easy do these crack? I'm looking to buy a salvage bike also and it's been dropped. Stator cover doesn't look too damaged but seller says severe oil Leak. There's no other damage apart from around stator area. Would a drop have enough force to crack it?
Possibly, this one wasn’t cracked or leaking but looks like it slid rather than took a direct hit. The change was purely cosmetic. Should be relatively straightforward to repair unless the block is damaged?
i just dropped(stationary) my '21 cbr650r, mine didnt crack but scraped a lot. it seems pretty soft material imo and prob can crack easily on direct hit.
Engine casing you can order from Honda dealer or keep an eye on eBay as they come up all the time. The same casing is used on several bikes so don’t just look for a 650R casing.
Hey Beano, thanks for this video. A dude hit my CB650R the other day and it dropped. I'm confident I can do this now. Only thing was, how confident are you in that RTV silicone? Some threads say not to use it and definitely use the Honda / Yamaha (high temp) ones?
I have done a decent number of miles since making the video and haven’t had any issues or leaks at all. I am happy that the sealant used is suitable but it is something I had lying around from another job I think (golf oil dump perhaps). If you need to buy some especially to do this then by all means get the recommended stuff but this worked fine. 👍
The CB650 and CBR650R use the same part for the main cover, it’s just the cap (gold) that is from the CB650 as this should be black on the CBR650R. I got it free with the main cover though so have it on there until I either spray it or replace it! 👍👍👍

Are you sure that oil drain is not needed? I am going to replace mine.
@@TornikeBenidze oil sits in sump and doesn’t reach that high when on side stand. I’ve changed mine, no oil loss.
How did you get the clutch selector in the correct place, I am trying for 2 days to get it on. Please help

Great job 👏👏👏👏
Thank you! 😃 - Still need to change the colour of the screw in cap - it should be black on this bike!
Perfect ❤
Could you tell me the size (1/4, 3/8,1/2) of the click torque wrench? Where can I fid it? Do you have a link to online store?

Hi, how much "Newton Meter" you use at torque wrench ? for casing screw...
Thank you
Hi there. Right side crank case cover bolts should be tightened to 12 NM. 👍
@@beanosgarage9606 Thank you
Great job my brother.Ride safe ✌️
Thanks buddy, you too!
Where did U bought that black silicone?
Hi mate. I think I got it with a car part I bought a while back. Probably from EuroCarParts. They do sell it separately. 👍
What’s the colour code for this bike?

Where can i order

I think you also need to put cylinder gasket aside from sealant
There is no gasket on this joint.

@@beanosgarage9606 How long did you wait for it to cure before you rode the bike?
Your new cover is from a 650f.
