While Backpacking, did Cona & Beinn Dearg in May 1998 in lovely sunshine. Most memorable was sitting on a small knoll below the steep face of Cona, having a snack thinking it would be amazing spot to see a fighter jet, then minutes later one flew past banking in front of the rock face ! Had first experience of type of snow blindness nr summit when rocks started to look a strange colour (UV affecting eyes ). Descended towards Braemore Junction, found large needle shaped rock, even had the "eye" in it - so I placed it in a cairn so that the "eye" lined up with the summit. Great day. Enjoy your Videos Andy.
Looked a cracking day again Andy. I've still to do them. Been saving them for a wild camp. Saturday NW was the place to be. Me and ma pal were on Beinn a' Bheithir. Alot of mist coming and going till it cleared abit. Could see the NW looked sunny.
Hi Kevin. I think they would make a great option for a wild camp, especially given two of the Munros are there and back again from the bealach, assuming that's where you pitch. Aye, the north was the best of the weather, and I like to go where the weather takes me, if possible, follow the sun 😀. Cheers, Andy.
Another great video, Andy. It brought back memories from decades ago when we rented a cottage at Inverlael. It was half term mid February and crystal clear cold with snow and spindrift on the breeze. I'd wanted to summit Beinn Dearg but realised I didn't have enough time or daylight. Ended up strolling around and down Druim na Saobhaidhe. Cheers!
Hi Mike. Glad the video brought up some nice memories, sounds like great weather, shame those lovely winter days are so short. I'll probably take the Druim na Saobhaidhe route to Seana Bhraigh next time i'm up there. ATB, Andy.
You certainly got the weather Andy 🌞 we were the same a few years ago, my mate Craig wanted to do Seana Bhraigh as well but myself and Tam could hear the pub calling 🍺🤣 4 Munros was enough for 1 day 🏔 atb Brian 👍
Hi Brian. 4 Munros and a pint sounds perfect 🍻, quite a detour to also add Seana Bhraigh in one day, though it doesn't look too far from the top of the last one. Cheers, Andy.
great views and stunning weather again Andy! looks like you had the entire range to yourself again. everything you are visiting is far away from me and I will need to watch them again when I plan to visit!,, cheers mate. Paul
Hi Paul. Yeah the best of the clear skies were up north on Saturday, so took the opportunity to bag this group. Really nice gentle climb up the valley to the bealach, and beside rivers all the way up too which is always nice. Cheers.
Thanks guys this is brilliant! I'm doing this exact route at the end of this month. Hoping for similar conditions and of course views.
Hi, thanks. Hopefully you get some great weather for it, it's a lovely hike.
Good video this one
Cheers. Lovely hike up the valley beside the river, with plenty of waterfalls to look at. Perfect weather for it too.
@@andy-astroi get out that way soon
