As an owner of a Pro Football, I highly recommend replacing the light in the upper middle of the playfield with either a flashing bulb or a colour changing LED. Either has a very affective visual impact on this game at that upper/centre position. If you want to see what it looks like borrow a flashing bulb from behind the back glass, where there should be 3 of them, behind the words 'pro', 'foot' and 'ball' that turn on only with the 'gameover' light.
The worst thing is repairing a game that some hack had his hands in in the past. Thankfully, it ended up in competent hands. Looking forward to seeing you again at York. Make sure you bring enough hay for Spanky!
Hmm... Wondering if the game was high-tapped. Needlessly high-tapping a game accelerates wear on steppers, score units, etc., and can cause increased arcing and overheats coils. Shop a game properly, and there's no need to high-tap it if the line voltage is adequate.
Very educational and plenty of tips, thanks Kim and Graham.👍
Thanks mate
Very good video. Thank you.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it 😀.
Great insight as always. Never thought you would get arcing between tracks on a board thanks for showing this. 👍😁👍. Bob.
It's not really common but like anything can happen funny when you see the smoke 🤣

We have plenty of 455 flasher bulbs 💡 but it's not our game. Thanks for the suggestion, though I will tell the owner.

Have y’all done a video on how to properly adjust and gap slingshots and stand up targets to keep them sensitive and not hammering?
No we haven't but shall do that in a mini repair video in the future. Thanks for your suggestion 😊

No it wasn't simply old age wear and tear in this instance.
Had the same burn on one of my relays. Accidentally left a diode on some of my coils and totally fried it. Ended up replacing it after. Great video!
Ah the old diode on an EM yes unfortunately some suppliers have then
