Great stealth mount of the antenna. I have the "ancestor" of this antenna, the AEA IsoLoop and it works pretty well too. I've used it on a balcony and in the attic space and had good luck with. Tricky to tune, but a good antenna.
How does it preform sir? I live in a apartment building in nyc 65 plus feet and have great luck with him sticks working internationally with no problem. Want to get a loop and put it horizontally polarized for transmit with option to use it as a recieve loop when transmitting on the 5/8th wave vertical
I like this antenna a lot!! As you can se on the clip my space to have antennas are very limited. This antenna works suprisinly well!!! There is only a coax conected to the antenna. The power to the step motor is feeded from the controlbox
Michael McAninch Dear Michel No the coax and the special tuner is not grounded. It is not necessary to do that. But one thing that's an absolute must is to power the tuner with the supplied mains adapter or internal batteries. It can not be operated with power from the same source as your radio. The power supply has to be ground isolated.
Michael McAninch No its not a bracket for a Ceiling fan. I think it is some sort of construction equipment. The side where antenna hangs should be in concrete and the other end should bear up som pole or rod
+George Ace +sshort1205 Hi you are not allowed to put something between the control box and the antenna. this because the control box supplies power to the coax to the stepmotor that handle the tuning of the antenna. so if you for some reason plan to put a dummy load (DC shorted) you will immediately damage the control box. Between control box and loop antenna you mus only have a pure 50 ohm coax. but befor the control box yo can hook up practically what you want. But i se no reason to use an external (or in radio internal) tuner. Its not that way you get something out from the loop.
+sshort1205 Hi there! I work all bands from 20m up to 10m. There is no reason to use any external or internal tuner for this loop. Its only the control box (its not really a tuner. It only steers the spepmotor in the antenna) that shall be used.
Hard to beat a good Mag-Loop antenna! I was wondering why you mounted it horizontal which makes it work as a omni-directional antenna? Sitting vertical makes it directional off the ends with less noise.
ezl it was pure practicalities that steered how I mounted it. The rest of the family should also be able to use the balcony without having an antenna in their face 😊
Hi Manfred. I did not try it on 11m so I don’t have a clue. Nowadays I run remote instead so the radio is mounted in another place far away from. Where I live. I still have the loop but stoved away and not in use.
Aleziss No not regular. Today I have a remote setup for HF. Running with a remote rig interface between my summer house and apartment here in Gothenburg city. But I still have it and use it for portable operations every now and then.
@@Sm6ype ok thank you for the reply, I am seeking a compact antenna for my small lot and I thought the loop was a good idea but I think they are not really dx antennas... still looking a available solutions... 73 !
perhaps better to place it outside the balcony, so that the magnetic fields are not attenuated by the roof, and with the plane of the antenna not horizontal but with an inclination of about 30 degrees to "focus" something above the houses that are in front
Pedro Alegre Yes absolutely. Outside balcony would probably Ben better. Of course rooftop the best. But that was not an option for me then. It was strictly forbidden to put something on the outside of balconies. Rooftop was of course out of the question . So this was my only option. And it worked surprisingly well

Fantástico !! ✨🍃👌🎩
I am seriously considering mounting this same antenna the same way. Can you tell me if you grounded the coax feedline shield to an earth ground?

Thank you. It appears you mounted the Loop to a ceiling fan 'downrod'. Would that be accurate?

Hi, great stealth mode! What bands can you get? Also some radios have auto tuners. Do they work with this antenna? Thanks

Hello, how good works on 11m cb band ? 55+73 from austria.

How is it on SSB?
do you still use that antenna ?
