- Björn from Sweden asked me to do another Fällkniven F1Pro customization. So, I did.
Osmo
Ordered the knife from local distributor and started the work... Some drama ...well., a bit late for Björn's timetable wish because of an accident with my hand. Happy anniversary "J.B."! Sorry for that delay. Back in life again.

Osmo, just as your knife-making gets ever more artful, so does your video production -- a beautiful video to match a beautiful knife. And having visited your workshop just makes these videos even better!
Thanks Jeff! Now you know all the sectrets of my workshop! Osmo
a stunning piece of wood and great workmanship osmo,an expensive knife just got more so.well done.
john whitehead Thanks John! I really hope it is that after it spent some time in my workshop! Osmo
I get a real sense of satisfaction when a project is finished and I'm really happy with it. I think that is why videos like this are fun to watch you get the same sense of satisfaction with the craftsmanship and superb finish even if it's not your work. Amazing looking knife Sir.
Jordan McCormack Many thanks Jordan! This knife ment me a lot👍🏻! Osmo
I’m a new-school knife type of guy I love mirror polished bevels on my blades, but never the less it’s a beautiful pease!!!! Great work brother
Dalton Greene Thank you!
Just watched thus in Christmas day and chilled me out after an eventval year.......

Alberto Perez-Pfeifer Thank you Alberto!
That grain is stunning Osmo !!! You made that knife into a million dollar knife with that handle. Great job my friend.
Bryan Resch Would you buy one? For a million?! Haha! Thanks buddy Bryan! Wish you great week in Philadelphia! Osmo
Beautiful knife!! Music is also GOOD!
Great job!!! That wood was gorgeous!!! Thank you!!!
Shane Sims Thank you for the nice comment!
Awesome work you have put into this knife, the finished result is amazing
Troy Walker Thanks Troy! Your comment much appreciated!
It’s Class, wood with +/- 35 rings, 35 to 40 years old, just beautiful. Thanks for sharing and I love the music.
Wim M Thank you!
Simply beautiful
Very, very beautiful! Maybe someone had mentioned it already, but in case this information is useful: The wood is Kokobolo.
zmurchti Thanks and thanks! Atb, Osmo
Beautiful work sir.
Beautiful work
Thanks Dean!

UA-cam is so neck-deep in blade-making videos (usually bad ones). It is so very nice to see such an excellent video treating the HANDLE. And such a beautiful and useful handle too! I am reminded of the work of Bo Bergman.
Lee Cordochorea Thanks for the kind comment Lee! Atb, Osmo
Very nice handle again.
Greetings Tino
einufo ofunie Many thanks Tino!
That grain is amazing! Beautiful!
SHADOWBEAR82763 It really is! Thanks!
That front bolster looks great. And very nice fit.
Thanks James!
Very nice work!
For what Fällkniven charge for their knives they should come with handles such as your quality.
Wolfgang Hedegaard That would sound great, thanks!
you shouldn't buy them and then they won't be able to charge you an arm and a leg
intra morph
I don’t buy them, nor will I ever.
Another beautiful masterpiece, I hope that hand is going to be ok brother. I cut my finger just below my knuckle three weeks ago and had to go get stitched up, it still hurts and isn't healing up to well. My wife says its because I haven't stopped building knives since it happened LOL yep she is probably right. Be careful friend, let your hand heal up.
Airik1111 Thanks buddy for your words! I bet it would be wise to listen to mrs sometimes even more often 😂 Wish you nice moments in knife making! Thanks, Osmo
That’s a true beauty and I bet ergos are much better now.
Tarquinius Superbus Okay buddy thanks! At least it's different now!
Excellent work
Fatih Ünal thanks Fatih!
Incredible work.
Brandon Thanks Brandon👋🏻
Thank you. You have given me some good ideas.
Kieran Goddard Thanks, happy to hear that Kieran! Osmo
Finally! The video my F1 and I have been waiting for. My skill is no where at this level so I will practise first.
micstica Thank you! There is another F1 custom video about the same kind of project on my channel too
Thanks to your work, the knife turned into a piece of jewelry👍🔪✨
Thank you very much!
@@thetopicala 😉
Gorgeous handle Osmo!
kaziklu79 Thanks Alex!
Espectacular!
Hector Portella Thank you Hector!
this just made me happy
NasserAlsh Happy for you, thanks!
A great improvement. I have never liked the rubber handle that comes with the Fallkniven knife though no doubt it is a functional tool. Your handle will be so much more comfortable and beautiful.
Sandy
Wiltshire Man Thanks Sandy! Every handle has it's benefit. I bet this rubber handle is very good with big winter gloves in winter and wet conditions👍🏻 Well, it could look... different😀
The rubber handle is good for water too. I personally think the shape is terrible though. In actual use the thin shape with near square corners lacks ergonomics.
BELLISSIMO LAVORO, COMPLIMENTI. 10+
Ciro Esposito Thanks Ciro!
Awesome ! The wood and shape is wonderful in harmony with blade :-) Thanks for sharing ps. any feedback about hunt in Croatia ??
stype 977 Thank you my friend J.! My buddy visited there and got two boars. They liked it being there!
A Tuesday morning very well spent. At 10:32 I wanted to lick that wood. Beautiful knife and presentation. Thank you for sharing. Cheers.
Steve Ottavaino Haha! Seriously, great! Thanks
damn bro thats a mighty nice knife lucky bastard
Captain Ugly Thanks!
Belo trabalho! A madeira que usou se parece com Jacarandá que temos aqui no Brasil. Forte abraço!
SAMUEL FERRAMENTAS thank you Samuel!
I know its an old video, but hopefully Osmo or anybody else reading this, and is able to tell me, what kind of wood this is. It's so gorgeous, i love the red and the grain of it. Thx
At 3:38 .... cocobola wood 😀👍🏻 It really is beautiful wood ! Thanks to John C I got closely familiar to this amazing wood.
@@thetopicala Oh, now that's a quick response. Thanks Osmo. Keep doing your thing, i love it
bloody lovely
nebraska39 Thanks!
Super. 👍❤
Elik Thanks!
Very nice .
Spencer Boaz Thank you!
Very nice looking would your boss or if it needs a little bit fine-tuning on the front edge of the blade but good work although
Rick Hall Thanks Rick!
Hello i seen you change the handle of one or two falkniven pro and i have a question: in order to change the handle... it's absolutely neccesary to cut the guard? or you do it just for the look or feel of the brass guard
Crhistian Gomez hi, thanks for asking. The original finger guard is very narrow. It was the reason to change it to brass or any other metal.
First thank you for answer me so fast. Second... so i guess you change it for functionality?... Is ther no problem to keep the original finger guard? My first impresion is that you remove it for the epoxy can stick well as this example? Thats true? And last... love your work recently saw 2 more of your customization... nice!
Crhistian Gomez You may leave the original front plate if you want to have a very very slim /thin handle. On the other hand it’s not a big deal to assembe there wider metal plate. The original handle is very slim and after my work shop it’s thicker which was the idea in the beginning to start my custom work 👍🏻 thanks, Osmo
Fantastic. Thank you!
Beautiful work. Do you mind me asking what model sanding machine that is you use? Also is that one piece of wood with the Tang through the middle or is it two pieces of wood glued together.
Jimmy Crackerlacking Thanks Jimmy for the interest! Yes, the wood block is one whole wood around the tang. I have drilled and turned the hole for the tang. Used epoxy glue to attach blade/tang with the handle block material. The sander is Scheppach BTS 800 👋🏻
Osmo
@@thetopicala brilliant stuff mate and thank you for sharing. 🙏
I wanted to see how you fitted the block of wood to the tang.
C. Daisy Thanks for the interest. In following link for example you’ll find out how I attach the blade and the wood block. ua-cam.com/video/dDxC2LuF5b8/v-deo.html
BRAVO, Master!!!
👍🏻
Thank you!
Thank for share friend. Beautiful work and It seems that I could do it too, but it's not easy :0
Hey friend, Could you help me choose the best oil options to protect the wood?
Amazing!
死 Jamme Fuentes I think there are as many good oil options as users. I have chosen Tru oil. Osmo
thetopicala thanks a lot!
Now to try it :D
Beautiful work, in my opinion exactly how it should come from fallkniven at the price they charge.
Keef Maskrey Aggree! 😁😁😁
Much better. THIS looks like an expensive knife. A rubber handle on an expensive knife? No way.
HONEY B GUYS you are right it’s expensive with rubber handle. I’m happy that I was asked to change it to wooden. Osmo
masterpiece...
filimon undang Many thanks!
Like it!
Sergio Braga Thank you!
Thank you
👍🏻
Amazing knive handle!
May i ask you a question: Do you earn any money with your youtube?
andimayermayer Thank you! No, I don’t earn. I did but prefer to be “freelance” 😀 All the benefit of my videos go to the music makers 👍🏻 Osmo
Ok, thanks for your answer :)
I didn't think it was possible to get Tru-Oil to dry on Cocobolo.
Sam Harper Hi Sam, I haven’t got better knowledge. Please let me know or link me to this knowledge! 👍🏻 Thanks, Osmo
I'm just going on personal experience. Cocobolo is a really oily wood. The only thing I've ever been able to get to dry on it is lacquer. I usually just sand it and buff it and don't even put a finish on it anymore.
Sam Harper I had a quick look at cocobola. Yes, I knew it’s oily. You can almost feel it while turning it. Okay, I think thin oil like Tru oil wouln‘t do any harm. Last think is to put lacquer on any wooden knife handle. The wood wouldn‘t breath anymore under the lacquer. Thanks, Osmo
You did a beautiful job on that handle, by the way.
Sam Harper Thanks!
then, sharpen to the @dutchbushcraftknives, it will be more amazing
Aldrin Rubrico Ok, thanks
Not
Wunderschöne Arbeit... aber so ein Messer ist nur für die Vitrine... Zu schade... 😔
Gucki Berlin Danke! Nicht nur fur die Vitrine! 👍🏻
The blade is not good enough for that handle!
Martin Inkinen thanks Martin!
Cocobolo.
You are right. It was corrected on the comments later. 👍🏻 Have a nice weekend!
You're good, but learn about filling the 'grain' of wood.
Julian Marsh Thanks, any links or hints? Please
in my opinion handle is too fat, and that spoils whole silhouette.
Lenek8005 It’s okay with me I mean your opinion. That is size 9-10 handle here in the north. Maybe we have got bigger hands, bigger things here 😀😁 ..no just kidding. Well, I can make and shape any handle someone is pleased. I cannot show whole the universe handle here as you can understand. Piece! Osmo
OK, it is not discussed about tastes and preferences. Greetings from Poland.
Sorry but NO... The original was so much better look!!
Thanks for your feedback 👍🏻
Your work is art. Absolutely beautiful.
now this is how a fallkniven should look like great work as usual osmo
