Pearlescent Zig-Zag Technique + Marble STUNNING Results! Pour Paint Abstract Painting

- What do we get if we zig-zag and line the paint on the canvas rather than just puddle the paints on the canvas? Well, today I am exploring just that and WOW what a difference it makes. plus adding some shadowing really makes this piece POP.

▶ Technique: Liquid Puddle Pour, Marble, Swipe and Tilt.
▶ Canvas size: 20x20 inches
▶ Pouring Medium formula: My paints are mixed with a Pouring Medium for all techniques unless otherwise stated in the video. The ratio I use is 1:3:1 Paint/Medium/Water. I use Floetrol/Owatrol for my medium. For those creations that I use water only (again I will say so in the video so please watch the full video for more details) Water only creations use the ratio of 1:1 paint to water.
▶ Color Palette:
Amsterdam: Lamp Black (Base Color)
Amsterdam Pearlescent Paints: Blue, Red, Violet, Green
▶ Hair dryer: When I use a hair dryer I use the Remington D3010 and always use the cool setting and the lowest blow speed.

This is one of your best pieces (to me anyway - including your calm & informative explanation). Thank you so much! I’m playing with Pearlescent’s again to kick the year off. I started a series last year in January too. Lots more to come. In terms of vision, I really like to just see how it transforms. Sometimes it works, other times I get lost in the Moment and see where it goes.

Hey Mark !! 🎉🎉🎉 I missed your creations during the holiday season. 😉 But I sincerely believe that you needed some time off. 🤔😊
And yes, I'm back too, 😄 to hear you and look at your art. It is currently 2 a.m. in Quebec.
I'm surprised to see how dark the colors appear already even on the wet version.😲 When you showed the dry version, I said Wow out loud.😃 I couldn't believe it. 😳 I love the lacing around and on the sides of the canvas. I also really like when you use a marble to create beautiful designs. This piece is stunning and truly beautiful. 💯💯
I remember that Molly did several tests and she noticed that when she made puddles the outline which was thinner and which was in more direct contact with the black gave a darker color around the puddle.
You have confirmed this hypothesis with this zigzag canvas. 👍 Thin fold line in contact with black and now the colors are more pigmented. 👍💯💯💯

Wow, what a great start into the new year, watching your video. This piece is gorgeous. I love the surprise moments with the pearlescent colours.
Fun part: when you were pouring the zigzags, I thought it would be a great idea to use the marble, not knowing that you were going to do so 😃
And when you tilted the canvas, a few times I caught myself tilting my phone because I feared that you would lose all the lacings - LOL.
