You are so right about structure! I think a lot of homeowners look at individual components of a home garden without seeing the big picture. Ideally, there should be LEVELS of design...the overall, the section, and the accent. Getting there for me is not so simple at my age, however it was important enough to drag me outdoors in the 90 degree temps and brutal humidity to make a difference in the place I center myself...the yard. After watching this episode, I was inspired to plan for a pergola and to add some sunflowers against the long dreary privacy fence to give an architectural accent. Good work, Allan.

The above was written by my fiancee, John. Gardening has been handed down to each of us from our parents and grandparents. So when we watch you every day, it's like spending a little time with the memory of them as well as getting ideas from you. BTW we might possibly be related? My grandmother was Florence Smith so I come from a long line of a couple Smiths who were farmers in VA. One couple had 12 kids so you could say they grew their own help! Counting the days til our Sep 24th tour!

Reading comments, I can attest: the iron arbors, the cast iron fountain are still totally strong, functional and beautiful. But the advantage is they add so much character and appear as if they have been there for a generation. Go see them in person at Moss Mountain Farm!
The standing seam roofs are wonderful. This type of roof has been used over a century. Standing seam roofs withstand the test of time. Preservationist renovators often take off the old asphalt and return to this more durable, greater architectural character roof. Thanks for enlightening everyone P. Allen!

Powder coating is what should of been done. This can prevent Rust for Decades or longer depending on skill level of the application

I have heard many negative comments by homeowners over the years about tin roofs that had installed. They were installed with screws and not lapped over to seal. Is this the new standard?

I absolutely love your videos and content but respectfully, why do some of your videos like this one look so grainy and dated? The camera quality of your videos can be so much better.

What about people who live in an urban ghetto? Can you do an episode for making their lives better? So many of them resort to drugs or other sinful activities to alleviate their boredom.

Everything he does is formal design. Not for me to stuffy!
