youre a life saver. even years later.
Thanks, this video gave me the confidence that T-Spine actually works!! Box mode is awesome
This also helps when you cant fillet the B-rep converted out of a T-spline! Thank you so much
Glad to hear it helped. Cheers! :)
Thank you so much for this video! It didn't precisely address my particular problem, but it gave me enough to go on and I was able to fix my problem mesh in a few minutes!
Hi, Joel. Glad to hear that it helped! Would you mind sharing the specific problem that you encountered? I'm just curious...if it's something that would be helpful for other users I'll share it in another tutorial. Cheers, Kevin :)
While it claimed I had self-intersecting T-splines, the real issue was that I had coincident vertices that hadn’t been welded on one half of a seam. Your video inspired me to switch to box mode, and that helped show the slight gaps associated with the unweeded vertices.
Maybe a video on verifying that vertices are welded? I ended up moving vertices around a little and seeing if gaps opened up.
@@HappyZentraedi Thanks for the clarification. It's frustrating that the error messages are not better in Fusion 360. They are often misleading or two open-ended, which results in a number of different possible problems.
Welds are definitely a common issue/concern. I will try to incorporate this into a video sometime. Cheers, Kevin :)
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Auto repair fixed it! I was messing with for almost an hour lol. Thanks
Glad that worked for you! It's great when it actually works! Cheers, Kevin :)
@@ProductDesignOnline im happy it worked cause i was getting mad trying to fix it. It wasn't a t-spline error, it said something about vertices need to be welded :s i had used the feature "fill hole" and after a bunch of unrelated tweaks, the flat surface of the hole that was filled became tapered(cone) and it messed up the vertices.
@@johnf4388 That will do it! I always recommend to periodically "Finish Form" while Sculpting to check for errors before you get to far. Nonetheless, glad it was sorted out. Cheers, Kevin :)
@@ProductDesignOnline - Hey Kevin... I never get to see the "Finish Form" option anywhere. There must still be something wrong with the edited shape somewhere...
@@tonyrath4128 Can you share your file? To share your file - In Fusion 360 go to File > Share > Share Public Link (make sure "downloadable" is toggled on) > Paste your link here as a reply to this comment. Then, please write a separate comment letting me know you've replied with a link because UA-cam flags most links and I don't always get notified. Cheers, Kevin :)
what do you do when you still cant find the error after following all of your recommendations?
Hi, I am working on a model in create menu and now I am seeing that this error is coming again and again....
While following the step1, it says highlighted area may be intersecting... But in my model there is no red line or red surface is showing...
It will be really great if you tell how should I overcome to this error.
Hi .I can´t get to repair a simple model file ... any other sugestions?...rgds
i got alot of t and stars but dont know how to fix it
Well explaining how to solve a self-generated failure one shouldn't do in the first place. More interesting would be solving such errors made by fusion
how to undo a save and return to previous changes in sculpting with t spline surface using fusion 360
when doing error checking
There are times when you don't know where the error is because the color is not displayed.
How are you doing?
Im making your pumpkin from your beginners tutorial and coming up against these errors again and again but nothing is highlighted in red.
After all this time and fusion isn't doin too sharp with this frustrating error problem that forms models how you don't want them to look, as well as taking lots of time.
Hi mate.
I keep on getting the dreaded intersect error, and I cannot find the darn offending piece/s.
All my 'stars' seem to be yellow - nothing in red that I can find.
It's doing my head in...
Did you have any red error spots visible while in "Box" mode?
@@ProductDesignOnline - Selecting "Box" mode doesn't seem to do anything - i.e. the shape doesn't change to that chunky looking shape in your vid.
why is this so overly complicated? It is a really quick video but why doesn't it just make a window appear that makes you choose which face to crop/cut and pick the dominant face or sculpt your connecting to, then convert it? Who in the world thought throwing an error box up was better than a simple idea like the one just proposed. like JUST LITERALLY ADD THE TRIM TOOL TO SCULPT.
Hi, Roberto. I understand what you're getting at. I would suggest you submit that as an idea to Fusion 360's idea station. If you submit it I'll support/upvote it - If you submit that to Fusion 360's ideaStation then I'd support it - forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-ideastation/idb-p/125
