Busywild Trail Carnage // Elbe Hills OHV Washington // Toyota FJ Cruiser

- In this video I attempted the Busywild Trail in Elbe Hills Washington. This trail was not meant for vehicles that you don't want to damage. The FJ Cruiser took heavy body damage, nothing mechanical failed though. I hope you enjoy watching the destruction!

That was so stressful to watch- can't imagine what it was like to actually live it. You're calm demeanor is commendable!
Believe me, I was freaking out. 😆
"Sorry to be depressing" he says, while chuckling in front of thousands of dollars of body damage. Dude your attitude is incredible. I would have been livid for weeks but you seem to instantly brush it off. EPIC video! I really appreciate all the extra setup you did to get the out-of-vehicle shots.
I have a bad habit of laughing at tragedy. 😄 Thanks for watching!
Wasn't that amazing...saves everyone thousands of dollars. GREAT VIDEO!!! A+++++++++++
Man, that was an incredible video. I ran just about every emotion watching that. Watching your snorkel gig into the bank, the familiar sound of a mirror breaking under pressure, the passenger glass shattering took the cake. So is it time for 37's? Lol maybe too soon to make such a joke. Just so you know and for what it's worth, you're a legend for making your way all by yourself through that. Can't wait for the next one.
Editing the video was an emotional experience 😆
That was epic! I wasn't even planning on watching the whole thing starting at like 10:20pm, but I couldn't look away!
I had the same experience, LOL.
Me too.
Same here! The damage looked expensive but at least you made an epic video for us to enjoy!
This is by far THE BEST wheelin vid on the net!! Tuff trail! But you wheeled it bro!
"Trail" seems like an overstatement. I love all the commentary, actually.
Thank you for driving off-road and showing us how a FJ performs.
IFS,no good. has to have lockers. cant raise it, need solid diffs. they roll, real easy,no travel..
@@phantomwalker8251 oh like razors thoses definitely are solid axle IFS is nothing you just have to know how to wheel
@@reillybishop266 Lmao. I know them, all and will show up a solid axle in most situations 💯 💪 😉, I still like them, but leave them on the atv, quad, razor etc. where they belong🤣
@@phantomwalker8251 Buzz off! I have an LC100 I guess you think that is "no good" FJ's slay they are awesome and the driver is the most important thing anyway, this man has both going on
I've been on many recoverys on this trail. I've seen 15 rigs broke on this trail at one time. People have been stranded on this trail for days.
Hi love lol
thats cos there not trained in 4x4..
@@phantomwalker8251 sweet someone who can wheel then.. Come show us what you got. Without using 40s or bigger. Lets have fun on 37s.
You must work for Eatonville towing you look familiar
@@llamayamama4328 no he doesnt work for eatonville towing
I'm a Washingtonian born and raised. I have been going to Elbe Hills wheeling and riding dirt bikes and driving a side by side more recently. I have seen the Busywild trail develop over 18yrs. I remember when I first started going to Elbe you 35" tires could make it through busy wild without having to winch but a couple times. Now you really need 38" tires or bigger and beadlocks so you can air down without worrying about losing a bead. Still one of the most difficult technical trails in Washington.
It's interesting how trails evolve. As more people hit a trail with larger and larger tires, digging things out, bigger tires become required. 40's are the new 35's... Thanks for watching!
Mann the effort you put into making these videos is crazy. Having to place a camera drive through and then stop get your camera again for the whole trail. Appreciate the effort you put into your content for us brother
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
This is the best video on UA-cam. This perfectly encompasses myself as well lol. Getting into a muddy trail by yourself where the only option is forward... laughing on the outside but dying on the inside. I'm in WA as well, but I have heard the lore and the horrors of Busywild and have always stayed way far away. I'm pretty sure this is exactly how it would have gone if I tried it, so thank you for experiencing the pain for me. It is awesome that you made it through wtihout breaking the drivetrain (go IFS!). GL on the repairs!
Best video on UA-cam!? Wow, thank you! 😄 Sounds like we should do a trail together sometime. Thanks for watching!!
@@offroadhub.official NEVER,,go 4x4ing alone..or buy an IFS 4x4..best 4x4rs,gu nissan,,80 series toyota. or a rubicon 4 door. fj,s roll,easy. there a prado with different body..
@@offroadhub.official fj,too short,,auto,no good.
@@phantomwalker8251 Really? I would say this video and many others demolish your view. I have an LC100 with IFS and it slays!
Man, I relate so much to doing stupid trails by yourself 😂 Also the subtle humor throughout was awesome.
It'll be interesting to go back and do it again with a more built vehicle!
Man and the machine. Kudos to your courage!! I definitely don’t think the trail beat you, in my books you beat the trail 100% considering how technical it is and you conquered it all alone 🏆
I’m watching it right now and I love the part where you said “this is stupid”
Yes... It was. 😆 Thanks for watching!
Epic mate!! Did a great job filming as well, nice you took the time to do it considering the situation. 👍
Firstly Ken, my condolences with the damage to your FJ.
I do also want to thank you for THE best ever 4x4 offroading video I've EVER seen.
As a keen offroader, I watch many, many such videos from the comfort of my armchair. None have been as great as yours... in addition to the challenge of the trail, I love the entertainment value, your sense of humor, awesome narration, and excellent camera angles - and many of them at that too.
I know it's a challenge to reflect actual movement and inclines/declines in off-road videos but in this case I found myself holding my breath at a few sections because you managed to mirror your experience so well, that I thought I was INside the FJ. 🤣
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Wishing you safe (and less damaging) trips.
(New South African follower living Dubai).
Thank you for your kind word and for watching! This was the most damaging trail I've ever done for sure. All cosmetic, no mechanical which is great. I'm glad you like my dry sense of humor... Stay tuned for big things to come!
This really put things in perspective 🙌. You have nerves of steel to get through this by yourself.
There is no finer 4wd video, ever!! You have style unimagined by the masses. I watched it twice. Very real and unencumbered.....and all with as smile.
Wow, thank you!
In my opinion, this is the best FJ video I have ever seen. @Offroad Hub you have balls to run your FJ through those tough patches. Subscribed!
This is insane! Insanely impressed how capable both you and the FJ were during this. Poor truck....
“This is stupid”. This is the best off road video ever. No exaggeration.
Thank you 😄 It's was a tough ride...
Loved the commentary, I think your laid back demeanor makes it even more enjoyable.
Looking back I’m sure that was quite a bit of fun, and you definitely found the limits of your FJ. But if you look on the bright side I’m sure your body man is going to be happy to see you. Glad to see you made it out safely. All that said, I still have to recommend looking into an EPRB.
It was fun, in a scary way. 😄 I'm definitely looking at EPRB's. Thank you!
Great journey once again. Always enjoyed every adventure! Hope to see you one day on the trial.
Awesome Trail and to go solo!..... you are an inspiration on what to do and sometimes what not to do. Thank you for your videos!. Happy wheeling.
You’re a legend mate. Well done for doing it solo!
The “family friendly music” part... LOL. That trail was absolutely crazy, some great wheeling on your part! 👍
Awesome, I love the extend of your trail damage,…real commitment…. Fun watching, expected you to be walking out at some points. Excellent job!!!
Man, I felt this! I love hard trails, but mud, ruts, and logs like this are just brutal. Awesome video!
Thanks for taking the time to make your videos. They are great. Sorry this trail was such a beast. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you! It's all part of the adventure.
This is how I felt when I took my x5 to LaDee flats, thought I was having a heart attack mid trail hahaha. Well done on getting through it!
WOW!! That is a Brutal Trail and being out there by yourself is Ballzzzy!!! I think on some of those obstacles I would have made my own trail right around them. Thank you for the video!!
Getting out of the established ruts would be a challenge!
WOW. The carnage is real. Crazy how relaxed and calm you stayed (at least from the viewers perspective). I would have been flipping out the entire time. Thanks for sharing the footage and again, that carnage was NASTY!
Thank you for watching! Yes it was insane, and honestly I edited out the worst of my frustrations... I didn't want to seem too negative. At least I can look back at it now and laugh, a little.
The trail was so wet, but the humor was so dry. What a feat!
😆 Thanks for watching!
Awesome man!! Showed your FJ some tough love.
Great video, glad you got to see the Busy. It can be challenging even for a built rig.
Wow. Incredible you made it through all that. Keep making these awesome videos!
Thank you! I'm always working on more. New videos every Monday and Thursday.
This man wins the award for Steadiest Demeanor, good show my friend
Thanks! It was pretty stressful! 😂
You really got me immersed, soaking wet and muddied. I was yellin' TURN AROUND but you wouldn't. Good work and thanks for the ride!
Your courage and humility are inspiring. Thank you for sharing your experience as most would have hid it from the world. I would roll any trail with you. Stay smiling man because you helped many and created an incredible memory. You were a Beast
Thanks Darin!
At 33:30… thanks for letting it play so I can see the trail since I definitely will never do it. Respect to you for solo finishing it. And even thru frustration still record it. Can’t wait to watch more of your vids in WA!
Thanks for watching!
Ken, your Attitude is amazing. Most folks would have been cussing & going nuts. Rock on SIR !!!
Amazing FJ Video on a very difficult trail. Man i felt every crunch and slam for your FJ. Loved the musical zen part too. haha!
I was like taken -in like right there hopeing “ we” made it and got off this train. You did it!
Bro! You have got Cahones made of solid brass! This trail is crazy difficult! I would have given up and cried! Thanks for posting this, nice to see how it's really done. Makes the trails ive been on look easy as hell! You're a legend my man!!👊😎🤘
Thank you! It was pretty insane. Thanks for watching!
Dang dude that was gnarly! Seems like the tires did good though!
Yeah the Milestars are really great! Thanks for watching!
In high school we all had claped out toyotas ran the bussy every weekend bussy backwards night runs were common
Brings new meaning to comedy/tragedy. I was laughing one moment and crying the next. I felt your frustration.
Great video, you guys have some great trails in the west. Top it off, you did this solo, hats off to you. keep the adventure alive.
I can't believe you did this. I've watched videos with rigs on 40's having problems there. This was epic. Your filming and wheeling were both impressive. Subscribed. 👍
that was a gnarly trail. The last time you used the tailgate, that was a nasty hole also. Thanks for the video
Yota Power.
What an epic adventure you had there in one of the toughest wet trails I have even seen... Thanks a lot for your effort making this clip and sharing. Just subscribed!
Go FJ!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
I love the "damper on things" head nod... Nailed it
Haha, that trail map looks like a map of Australia's outline. Cool video !
I’ve watched this a few times and even now, watching it again, I can’t believe you managed to do this alone. Great wheeling!
I re watch it every few months and I'm always surprised all over again... 😄 Thanks for watching, repeatedly!
Re-watching this because I know you're going to be doing it again very soon. Can't wait to see the comparison!
Riveting. Just bought an FJ, watching lots and this was next level. Nice driving. Crazy
Congratulations on the new FJ! I wouldn't recommend this trail for you. 👍😂
Wow! Nice to see how a pro tackles a trail like that. Thanks for taking the video while digging yourself out of mud. I would not know my FJ could do that.
Dude that was epic and insane! As a fellow fj owner I enjoyed watching what your fj can do and thanks for the warning. I'll never do this trail 😆 keep the awesome vids coming. U earned a sub!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed this one!
DAMN! Rather brave to tackle that solo. Bravo my man
Just found your Chanel and I have to subscribe for this alone lol. You’re a legend for sending this whole trail. Love the Fj too, not many people build them where I’m from.
Thank you! FJ's can do pretty well!
I feel for you Ken. I bet the desert is looking pretty good right about now.
Man that was totally excellent!!

Thank you, glad you liked it! 😊
Dude,… you have my upmost respect!! Happy to see you out there hitting awesome trails! I know this is an older video, but I hope you’re still out there riding!
Thanks! Elbe is pretty fun! 😄
Dude ! Wow! Such a rad video , I’m sorry for all the damage .
Thanks! The damage gives the fj character...
I am in awe of what you put this thing through. Hats off
And it was mechanically unharmed. Honestly if I knew what was coming on this trail I wouldn't have done it. Thanks for watching!
Wonderful ride and you have awesome driving skills beautiful FJ
Welcome to Washington!
I'll be back for sure!
awesome video...many videos show the best technical driving of a trail... you showed scars and all.
TO COMPLETE THAT TRAIL !! WOW BRO ... tons of work .. great job !!!
It's a marathon of trouble! 😆
Sheesh. I need a drink now after watching this and it's only 11:15am on a Saturday! 😂 Fantastic video and I agree with others in that your attitude is great about the damage. Ya play and often times ya pay! I miss my FJ more now that I have seen this video & I miss wheeling in general. Maybe one day I'll be able to get back out on the trails! You inspire me. Thanks so much for sharing this nail biting adventure!!
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
Went to Elbe a years ago and busy wild was closed. I drove 9 hours to hit it and it was closed lol. Pissed me off.
You are a absolute legend for doing this by yourself. I’ve heard horror stories of this trail.
Oh man that's horrible that Busywild was closed. The other trails at Elbe are also a ton of fun though. Thanks for watching!
(Queue "Dueling Banjos") Wow, way to teach your FJ the hard way! Awesome run.
What an awesome video!
Thanks for sharing it, Ken. Sorry that your ride got beat up a little.
Take care and keep the videos coming.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
That was insane. I'd be absolutely terrified the entire time. Amazing video.
I was a little terrified. 😄
You’re brave for tackling this not only in your fj but by yourself! I love about an hour and a half from Elbe.
I didn't realize what I was driving into... 😆 Thanks for watching!
It was better than an thriller movie , loved every minute
Awesome! Thank you! 🤙
As an area local (with a rig built for Elbe) it felt like watching a horror movie. I knew it was about to get bad and wanted to yell "No!!! Don't go in there!!". Nice job making it out, and keeping a (generally) positive outlook.
Oh, and the "Elbe Hills Off Road Trails Team" group on Facebook would really like you to join... especially the guys who put that rock there.
@@TomVernor 😆😆😆
That's hilarious! Thank you for watching!! I'll check out that Facebook group.
I was on the edge the whole video, You and your fj are true warriors, best true off road video I have ever seen, you seemed so fresh and I was freaking out the whole time, TRUE BADASS
Thanks for watching! It was a pretty crazy experience!
That trail was crazy. You did a hell of a job. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
I love your sense of adventure, the more videos I watch on your channel the more I want to watch. I applaud your willingness to attempt, I've seen guys with more capable rigs that wouldn't attempt the things you do with that FJ.
I like to try everything that seems half way reasonable... Thanks for watching!!
Wow - pretty incredible experience on your dime. I'm impressed 👍
Good times, lots of dimes! 😄
Sorry for the damage, but after the fact you can appreciate the "burned adrenaline" and have the pride (and proof in your case) of what you did. I feel for you as I was in a similar scenario in Daniel Boone, where I did not know if I will ever get out (I had body damage as well although not this extensive), we completely forgot to take pictures, so kudos to you for filming it. I have since then upgraded the car, but the insecure feeling is still vivid. I hope you find the time and finances to fix the car and be back on the trails and...filming. This never gets old, in doing it and watching it :-)
It was a slightly scary experience. But I've been on lots of trails since, new videos still coming. I replaced the passenger door and kept going! Thank you for watching!!
@@offroadhub.official .....keep them coming! I am adding several of them to my list. Was thinking Moab, but now Oregon looks better....just far :-(
Love your videos bro.. this is by far the most insane solo adventure I've seen... I can see why you called it stupid. 😂.. glad you made it out...
Been through the Busywild many times. Was there this past weekend. 40s and throttle are the usual suspects. I've made it without pulling cable with spooled axles, on 35s...twice😁 I thoroughly enjoyed the vid.
Great video man, really appreciate it. Just purchased a stock 2010 that I hope to take on some EASY trails after some mods. Nice to see what they can do but as a city guy I can tell you I would have been crying like a baby back there! 🤣
Mine is a 2010 as well, have fun in yours! Thanks for watching!
I rolled my fj 3 days ago in Southern California hills. Love the video.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Is it a total loss?
Excellent video. Great quality, angles, narration and determination. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Longest video I've stayed for-. 👍👍
Lake Havasu-☀️ AZ
Thank you!
I know that was painful and expensive but that was AWESOME! Thanks for sharing the after trip damage report. It has been a long time since I laughed until I cried.
😂😂 Glad you liked it!!
Appreciate the play by play of your thoughts as everything was transpiring. I think we've all been in those situations where we were like "what am i doing?" "why am i here?". Glad you were able to get out. Having an FJ myself, its good knowing that at the least, it can get me out +/- a few flesh wounds.
Mechanically and electronically the FJ performed flawlessly. It's a solid vehicle!
I’m based in oregon and I saw your tillamook state forest vid prior to hitting the trail. It was solid recon for what I could expect and recognizing any type of limitations. Would be down to tag along if you are ever in the neighborhood again. Cheers!
@@skyline400gt probably in August!
Now THAT is putting a vehicle to the test! Well done!
Hi there!! We met on Cadillac Hill. Great video we called out the damage on the FJ. Happy Trails!
Hey glad I could meet you in such a great place! Busywild is no joke! 😄
Dude. Big props to you for going in blind.
Haven't seen you in forever. I haven't been out on the trail in awhile. Great videos as always.
Honestly the most hectic fj 4x4 video on UA-cam. What a trail!! Unbelievable.
I was really happy to be done with this one! 😄
Amazing driving. I can't even imagine me in FJ doing what you did. Excellent videography as well
Very commendable
I was pretty surprised myself. 😄 Thanks for watching!
OMG - I felt the pain! I’m NOT going anywhere near there... Plus I’m not brave enough to go it alone. Happy that the story ended with you out safe.
I have watched a ton of off road vids over the last 6 months, this is by far the best. Did you really do all that video taking by yourself? That would mean tons of stopping, walking, setting up camera. What a pain. But I am sure glad you did it! That trail did not defeat you - you got thru it with no help from anyone, with "small" tires and not much lift - very impressive.
Thank you! Yes, I was definitely all alone! It was a real pain, but, I was there in the thick of it so I figured I had better record it. 😄
Man, I feel for you. I’m local to WA, ran the busy a ton in my Jeep. (It’s progressed over the years to a fairly large buggy with a tub...). Major props for struggling through especially solo. Hope most damage comes out, never feels good smashing up your rig, but again, major props for hitting the busy
Thanks! No mechanical damage so I lucked out there! I was pretty shocked by Busywild. Thanks for watching!
@MysteriousOklahoma I've heard a lot from Jeep owners, they've been nothing but supportive. I'm over the damage, no biggie! Thanks for watching!!
@@offroadhub.official I'm sure a few of us would be interested in a walk around the FJ, once the mud is cleaned up.
Crazy, I think I'll stick to rocks! I'm looking forward to seeing the video from wheeling in Caballo this weekend.
Yeah this was a mess! 😆 Thanks for wheeling with me, it was awesome!
The FJ beeped at you😂 that was her screaming her safe word🤣
When her safe word is “flower” but she keeps saying “flour!”😂😂😂
