These legends are on point. I have the Bruticus and Devastator magic square. But legends are a lot easier to display in a dynamic look without needing a ton of room.
@@stephenfunderburk5459 Theirs is my fave G1 Menasor (although it's clearly earlier MS tech, and normal plastic). They have _excellent_ waterslide decals and 3D backgrounds too
@@DrTeeth66 oh hell yeah. I water decaled my entire Devastator. It's sick. I love using those decals. Also making dioramas for legend scale Is so fun. And easy because it doesn't have to be huge to be in scale
The fact that Magic Square included the goofy cartoon eyes from that one frame that became a meme, shows that these third party companies are more in-tune with the fanbase than Hasbro is. Also, I am glad to see an animal based transformation that does not do the "limbs become limbs" thing.
It's a reference to when Devastator clobbered Sludge in the original Transformers animated movie. Search youtube for "Devastator Sludge". The animators got all LooneyTunes with it.
Man, I really have mixed feelings about Magic Square. On the one hand, they have some really well designed and engineered figures with very sturdy materials. However, I feel Newage has much better aesthetics and proportions. The MS dinobots especially feel really plain, flat, and almost cheap-looking. They almost look like unpainted color prototypes.
They're _very_ much going for a direct G1 cartoon aesthetic - and nailing it imho It's the memorable & fun transformations that put them over as my fave figures of late. They're _so_ much fun to handle
@@DrTeeth66 see, to me Magic Square feels more like an idealised version, where the proportions are a little more refined. I feel like Newage really nails the kind of wonky proportions of the animation models. It's like, the Platonic Ideal of the G1 cartoon versus the Reality.
This is one of the squishiest looking Dino modes I’ve ever seen. It just has that softness to it that it could be a chew toy or something
Most Magic Square looks like that to me, but this one looks especially squishy. 😂
Magic. What clean engineering.
MS is very tidy with their transformation designs.
Love the goofy toon eyes cameo
I laughed when I saw that. So unexpected 😁
Ah, perfect! Grimlock is arrogant, Slag is hostile and Sludge is stupid!
Oh yeah. This thing is great. Sludge is my favorite Dinobot. If I did legends, these would be my Dinobots for sure.

Ingenious!
Good stop-motion, too
Closest MS figure to NA in terms of transformation that I can think of and looks a little simpler which is also a first.
Perfect!
Ingenious design.
They included the springing squashed eyes!
Yup!
0:15.........did his eyes pop out Cuz he did a full split?!

Very cool video meme zee
This thing looks incredibly intricate. Not a bad thing.
Wonder how it compares with DX9' "War In Pocket" series.
They're a bit bigger.
We need new Masterpiece scale dinos...maybe xtransbots will do them
Or MMC!
Some one needs to over size these dinobots
I'm just not into small bots
I'm selling my masterpieces and going _all_ _in_ small-scale dude
Once you go legends, you never go... bledgens

I couldn't agree more. I'm all in on the NA stuff now. I had a chat on here with the video creator about this exact same thing.
I think they’re just going for a Roger rabbit effect, making them look identically close to the cartoon

@@Y34HT045T _Idealized_ is spot on. They feel like the products the original G1 toys became in my little '84 imagination
