If mother becomes sensitized with antibodies, and she cannot take rhoGAM. Is every pregnancy from now on at risk for complications: anemia, CHF, jaundice, etc? Or just the second pregnancy is affected and subsequent pregnancies with RH+ baby are fine?
I’m not in nursing school but I am pregnant and I’m RH negative and wanted to look deeper into what that meant, what it does, and just be informed 😇 loved this video and now I understand why I got the Rhogam shot. Just 7 more weeks before I see my baby 👶🏻 🌸
I can't tell you how much I appreciate these videos. If only they teach these contents in nursing school the way you do; so many students would succeed. Thank you so very much!
This concept was always so confusing to me throughout nursing school. Now I'm studying for the NCLEX and I had to learn it. This explanation was amazing, it makes so much sense now. Your other video about blood typing was so helpful as well. Thank you so much, Sarah!!
I can’t thank you enough! I really appreciate how well you explained. I’m 34 weeks pregnant and I’m going through this now with antibodies and risk of fetal anemia due to Rh.
I am so happy that this information is available now. It was not when my friends child was born 25 years ago and things went sideways because of the blood incompatibility. Fortunately there was time for a blood transfusion that saved the baby. Thanks so much.
Thank you for your videos. I took my proctored ATI exam on OB and got a level 2 by watching your videos. Your teaching is great and easy to grasp. On to Peds I will definitely keep supporting and watching your videos on your channel and website. Thank you very much
You are a life saver! I appreciate your videos so much. You definitely decreased my stress level as I prepare for my NCLEX!!! I feel a lot more confident because of your videos. You are a blessing to Nursing students. Thank You.
Amazing thank you! I had an idea of what was occurring, but after watching you, I can confidently explain this process with confidence! Great reinforcement, so thank you!
These videos are fantastic! Excellent lucid explanations for all areas of Nursing! I only wish I had discovered this video series while I was in Nursing school versus just as an NCLEX prep. Keep up the good work!
When im confused while studying for exams, i always look up for your videos. IT REALLY HELPED ME ALOT. Youre a natural teacher. Hope youll do by system anatomy and physiology. I know its basic but itll surely be a good start and refresher for people, like me, who have hard time with medsurg. 😅 Please continue uploading until our grandchildren sees this. 😍
I just discovered your channel. Thank you so much for making these videos. I needed a refresher on the Rh factor during pregnancy for Microbiology. Your channel will be so helpful once I begin the nursing program!
Will be taking my NCLEX this Sept. And even after being enrolled in a review center... I only got it now, with you explaining it. Thank you. You're an angel!
UPDATE: I'M PLEASED TO INFORM YOU THAT I PASSED NCLEX, 75 QUESTIONS! THANKS AGAIN FOR HAVING A PAGE LIKE THIS! YOU ARE SAVING LIVES! MUCH LOVE FROM FLORIDA! 💕
As usual... you amaze me with so much easy to understand video! You are simply amazing! May the good Lord bless your heart and give you more strength so you can share more of your knowledge and skills among us! More power!
I am RH- pregnant with my first child, his father of course. is RH+. tomorrow I'll be getting a shot to hopefully prevent me from becoming sensitized to RH+ blood, here's hoping. I was so scared about what this could mean for my baby and any future babies I am to have, but knowing exactly what's going on in my body and baby's body makes me feel confident to at least (somewhat) know what I need to talk to my doctor about. Thank you for these informative videos.
Thank you so much, God has really blessed you with a level of understanding for you to be able to explain with such clarity and in turn be a blessing to us.
Hi sarah, I've watching your videos and it so easy to understand and very helpful with my studies, and I'm taking my licensure exam on Aug 2019😊 God Bless you and more videos to help😘 Shebah, UAE🇦🇪
This is very crucial information for me. I have the extremely rare AB negative blood type. I am 33 and been thinking about motherhood more and more, I had no idea about this. So now I'll be making sure I get with a man of a negative blood type lol also I teared up when you were talking about what would happen to the baby with positive blood type ......
I have stopped watching other lecturers videos because I have increased ICP from not being able to understand it. LOL But when I discovered you, I can't stop watching for more. Thank you Nurse Sarah, you are awesome! :-)
Yes this we have in Zoology of academic class IX in India. Actually that was a five mark question. Girl, you explained fantastically. 💐🔥🥳🥳🎉🎉💐🔥🔥 As this is mandatory of our next generation am sharing this for my near and dear be aware and precautions protecting their little hears
The problem with the Rhogam shots is that they carry severe and deadly adverse events - Intravascular hemolysis (IVH) leading to death has been reported in patients treated for immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) with Rho(D) immune globulin. IVH can lead to clinically compromising anemia and multi-system organ failure, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), acute renal insufficiency, renal failure, and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Alert patients and closely monitor for the signs and symptoms of IVH in a health care setting for at least 8 hours after administration for ITP. Perform a dipstick urinalysis at baseline, 2 hours, 4 hours after administration, and prior to the end of the monitoring period. If signs and/or symptoms of IVH are present or suspected, post-treatment laboratory tests should be performed. Hemolytic reaction includes hypotension, nausea, chills, headache, and a decrease in haptoglobin and hemoglobin. Disseminated intravascular coagulation, Intravascular hemolysis, hemolysis resulting in death, clinically compromising anemia, extravascular hemolysis, hemolytic reaction, etc.
thats a grear video, in my case im the baby rh negative and my dad has the same blood type, my mom is rh positive tho, so it was a huge problem on my delivery.. i think it could be great if you do a video with those examples, many people dont know about this subjests yet. i know actully lots of pple that dosent even know their blod types

This is really good. Been binged watching as a refresher. If I can suggest, can we please have a link (like an i marker or thru lower thirds) of the blood types at around 1:00 it would be helpful for old ducks myself.
Hey good day! I am rh- I had a miscarriage last year and this year I had a beautiful baby girl, sadly she died after a day... But I didnt get a rhogam shot. Is there still hope of me having a healthy baby

Excellent presentation Sarah.
I love your videos you have taught me so much lol
I have Rh- blood and have had 4 babies who were all born Rh+.
I only got the Rhogam shot after delivery. I always asked about the one at 28 weeks but they said I didn't need it. They did do an Indirect Coombs test to see if I needed it, but said I was fine.
My babies were/are all fine. I'm wondering if this varies by country. (PS: I had all my babies in Japan).
If you are sensitized you will need the Rhogam twice
Now I'm wondering more what's up with my doc giving me a shot at 28wks & wanting to give me 1 at 32 weeks.
Serious question - can someone explain to me the logic behind putting antibodies into your bloodstream while pregnant, as a means to prevent antibodies from getting into your bloodstream the next time you’re pregnant?

So, is Rhogam strictly just to stop the immune system for the Rh- to stop Rh+ synthesis or will it stop the whole bodies immune system?
Hi Sanrah, what if we somehow miss to give Rogam. Then how can we protect the baby?
Hey good day! I am rh- I had a miscarriage last year and this year I had a beautiful baby girl, sadly she died after a day... But I didnt get a rhogam shot. Is there still hope of me having a healthy baby
Hi Sarah, after having the baby, do the baby also receive Rh immune globulin injection?
Very understanding
So it starts with second pregnancy and the others coming after the second pregnancy
👌👌👍 thank you!
Thanks.you are the best.
