I love seeing supermarkets overseas. I guess it’s a snapshot of how similar & yet intriguingly different we are. Variations of everyday life, condensed. ❤
I hope you both are around making videos for many years to come. I always enjoy your humor, history lessons, and drone footage. It’s a bummer about the laws changing with regards to drones. A bit overkill in my opinion, but that’s politicians! Mary
It’s all about controlling people and our freedom, with all the new “restrictions” and rules. Sad but true. We have always enjoyed your vlogs. Thank you.
Very enjoyable series of travelling through France and watching both of you with the basic everyday things in the van. Remarkable scenic park up that you found and I doubt that places like that will increase in numbers across the country.
I really appreciate your videos, taste testing seems to be Ken's favourite thing. The trick I found to stop me driving off and leaving my expensive off road grip mats is to attach chains to them and clip the other end to the vehicle (out of the way so you don't catch the chain) or as you do have your passenger watch and collect them
Just found this channel and stuff bscribbed. Always amazed how many ordinary folk can make such great programs from filming to editing to presenting. You’d are very professional and yes very relaxing.
I’ve been watching you two for a while, love you, BUT, you do eat a lot of junk food. I’m now 83, I would like you two to get into your 80s, I can say from great experience and also I’m a nurse. so got a bit of insight, you need to eat less junk , less carbs more veg. Honestly, it’s not hard to do. Go for it.

In Sweden there is a huge cheap shopping center mostly with clothing for women (Ullared/Gekås). The women can roam around for hours doing bargain shopping. Therefore the shopping center also has a "parking spot" area for men where they can play computer games, have a beer or watch football on TV whilst waiting for their better half finish shopping. A sort of man cave.
A very tranquil vlog, really enjoyed it 😊 I hope you can and will be able to use your drone in the future, would be a pity not to, but if it will be as mentioned it's no fun. I love the drone footage, because you get to see the beauty of places from another perspective. Have you arrived safely in Denmark? Can't wait to see the Norway/Denmark series. Best wishes 🙏
Couldn't agree more Ken, finding that perfect park up just to sit, relax and watch the world go by, brilliant. I'm not sure about that shower idea Ken, your frighten the wildlife 🤣🤣
Y’all got me giggling with this one….from chicken donuts to outdoor showers, and more….THANK YOU for the laughs and the pleasure of sharing another bit of your journeys. Best wishes and safe, healthy travels!
I’ve visited 2 historical battlefields, Pearl Harbor and culloden, I never want to go to another, it was chilling with an overwhelming sense of sadness, almost suffocating.
Hey team, dunno if this has already been mentioned but a nice easy way to make sure you don’t drive off the chocks or leave them behind is to put a small note or Post-it on the speedo so when you start the engine you will see it. Works for us! Lovely Vlog by the way
Even top chefs called it "CHOR ITZO " as it sounds..but the pronunciation as its sounds is "CHOR RITHO" ...Nice video as always...put TOLEDO on your to-go list...Carol loves a bit of history,,she won't be disappointed
I loved hearing the history of the battlefield. Longbows vs crossbows!? That’s going waaaay back! On the west coast of the USA, anything in the 1800’s seems like ancient history. I also love the cooking parts of your videos - you always have great systems for getting it all put together.
Hello Ken / Carol . I really hope it does not come that you will give up your drone work that would be a shame, I still would wonder how many people would get the tracker on , I am sure many here in Canada would just not do it , I would also worry that people would start shooting them down. Thanks great video . Take care .
Hari OM Blissful, that first stopover. The peace and tranquility shone through the screen. And I had flashbacks to history lessons at Claydon Secondary Modern and learning about the technological advancement generated by war that was the longbow... a joy as ever to ride with you both! YAM xx
Very nice video! Despite some nonsense that goes on in Paris and a few of the other larger cities, France always looks so civilised. Drone footage is wonderful. I really wanted to get one, but everywhere is clamping down these days and getting the required licenses and permissions to fly one is just too much hassle. Enjoyed joining you on your travels.
🌠Stephanie 🌹 Rose here from, FLORIDA🌴 Thanks 4 letting me tag along 👣 I find you very relaxing to watch and entertaining! Another UA-camr that I watch just divulge some information that if you run a commercial UA-cam will promote your channel more then if you don't. FYI B Safe, Stay Well 🙏
We should make the effort to visit Crecy as it is only 30 minutes away from our French house. Azincourt is only 5 or 6 minutes away. The visitor centre there is great, I couldn't imagine us making such an effort in the UK to celebrate a battle where we were so comprehensively beaten. When we first started visiting France 25 year ago the Croque Monsieur or Madame available in the bars were our go to lunch choice, but recently the Madame has pretty much disappeared and the Monsieur has always been a disappointment. Glad that you found a decent supermarket version.
The Battle of Hastings site has a museum, Abbey and the battlefield at what was a successful invasion of England that changed the course of our history. 😁👍
Re the hair compliment situation. For future reference, you look lovely dear is the correct answer. And said with a bit of conviction. You can thank me later. Just found your channel, thanks for the effort.
My favorite thing about watching your videos is seeing both of you. Love your humor, Ken, and amazed at how you make the food look so delicious. Tiramisu is my favorite dessert - YUMMY! Enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery, professional video (of course)! Thanks so much for sharing your adventures. ❤
I absolutly love your channel. Its so relaxed, so much fun. I especially like the fact that you show us that travelling in a small van is no problem. It doesn't have to be a 7mtr long big camper with everything you have at home. In a year from now i will have saved enough to buy a Ford Nugget pop up camper. I will be travelling for 9 months a year in my van and 3 months with my family in the Netherlands. I look forward to going back to living in a van like i did many years ago. Perhaps we will meet on the road.
We love the Ford Nugget so its a great van to go for. There is a channel called Cali Camper Family and they are worth a watch about the Nugget. Perfect size for mobility with comfort 😁👍
Yes you are indeed the most sedate van lifers I have watched on UA-cam no rushing from one place to another at break neck speed : I did a 10 days road trip with my family and never managed to breath in between hotels all though the experience was enjoyable it was a little too fast for my 70 year old body it would have been nice to stop and take in the beauty of Spain and France : I’ll stick to my touring caravan where the pace is slower next stop North Yorkshire in all its beauty 😊
You can even make a croque monsieur back in the UK all you need is some bread cheese and ham plus a frying pan, with an egg its called a croque madame.
Thanks for another lovely vlog, I'm really enjoying this French series. I have a card with CHOCKS written on it - I put it on the dash over the speedo when the chocks are in use. Very hard to forget. Keep the card with the chocks when you pack them away.
As usual, very informative, very entertaining, just the right amount of “chillaxation” and with a dusting of comedy. We always enjoy your videos, thank you so much❤️
its nice being with both of you, it makes the day interesting 😊 always beautiful views. and yummy 😋 food it takes me away from all the stress and worry, that we have to look forward to we are going back in time. stay safe and take care 🙂 ❤
Enjoyed that, it’s good to balance exploration with relaxation even on shorter trips. It’s all part of the enjoyment of having a van I think. Drone law changes to block a bit of harmless leisure enjoyment? Sounds about right 🙄
One question I have is how do the places where you drive on the opposite side of the road handle the transitions between the two areas. I like the music your using. As someone who spends a lot of time editing sound levels I can appreciate the time taking with your editing process. Did you take a course or pick it up over time?
Sound is the hardest part of making the videos and I am a long way from where I want it to sound like so any tips would be gratefully received 👍 Not certain what you mean about managing the transition. I don’t know of any roads that meet. Take Ireland as an example, they are in the EU but retain driving on the left as they have many roads going between Ireland and Northern Ireland in the UK. 👍
The entire continent drives on the right. The only places that drive on the left in Europe are UK and Ireland and they are both islands, so no transitions of roads.
I'm sure it was a typical English unintentional slip of the tongue, but Welsh longbowmen also contributed to the pivotal role of these solders at Crécy. Thanks for yet another lovely (and thoughtful) video from you both.
Regarding the drone laws.... bring 'em on, say I!!! I was quietly enjoying my own very private spa pool on my private back deck one Saturday afternoon when suddenly a drone appeared above our fence from the hotel carpark behind our property. It hovered there for a good 5 mins, pointed at me, an old lady sitting naked in my 'private' spa pool on my private deck in my private property. I had no way of finding who it was, or doing anything about it. In fact my gorgeous self could be featured on the internet now... who knows! They supposedly didn't do anything wrong because they didn't actually fly over my private land but stayed at the fence line on the other property. I strongly, very very strongly, believe that I should have been able to tag who owned that drone and report them! Their drone should have been confiscated! It's wrong! It's just such a pity that nice folk like you will be impacted by nasty unmentionables like those idiots causing the laws to need to be changed! I've been enjoying catching up on what you two are up to! 😁😁😁 Edit... I kept watching and heard that we could organise a drone show of Ken showering outside the van. This really IS getting interesting, eh Carol! 🤣😂🤣😂
If it happens again try and see which way its pointing. The camera can only see in one direction. I used mine at home recently to check repairs to my roof. I made sure the camera was always pointing at our house.
@@LifeistooshortCK Thanks and agree... but this one was definitely pointing at me. It's just so sad that the few dumbos will end up spoiling it for everyone. I LOVE watching your drone footage! 😁
Loved it guys. Not too sure about your ratings should you decide to shower au naturel! Also, news on drones is a bit concerning. Bernie has said he like to get me a better one for Christmas. Maybe we'll think twice. It just seems vital if you want your channel to grow these days 🤔🐕🚙
Time will tell what will happen to drones. My gut feeling tells me if you buy one you are coming in at the end of the freedom period. If you do go for one make sure it's the DJI Mini 2 or 3.
@@LifeistooshortCK thanks Ken. That's the ones we were considering. It's a real shame. Bernie was thinking originally that if he bought an inexpensive one, I could learn with that and not get too worried. However, it's proved impossible to fly in the slightest breath of air 🤔🐕🚙
Long comment alert lol as typing as I watch lying in Harry on Cork - Janes doing the chainsaw impression 😂 Love as ever your pace - effortless ( I know it isn’t at time ) Chicken donuts sounds bloody weird. Food in the supermarket looked a spectacular choice Drone trackers to the social flyer - I hope not but like you I suspect it will come…… sad day when it does We’re getting to appreciate long wild parkups as they are a real treat Meat balls looked great Brave Ken on hair and showing interest lol we are still evolving Janes long hair … just had a disaster with usb shower going off in the van it felt like an out of control snake lol😂 water everywhere Ken please don’t strip And finally loved the battle history Sorry for the long comment - I am sure YT will love it Stay safe guys and happy travels - Stew n Jane
We like long comments and so if you stop now we will know you don’t like us anymore 😁👍 The vision of an out of control usb snake in the van is horrifying. We hope you are both out of hospital soon 😁👍 Have you found a rubbish bin in Ireland yet. If you do please share the what 3 words 😁👍
@@LifeistooshortCK 😂 yes bins have got easier to be honest we are trying a few aires out at Dungarvan and cobh and pretty good compared to uk but suspect not as good as France - anyway nice to do and film something different
well, i hope you do not give up on drone flights. you might shorten them... up, plan around, down, and move on. you are very good at it. spaghetti wise, more sugar... that surprised me, but you are in a different part in the world. you really do enjoy life, thanks for sharing.
Hi, I've just discovered your video, very interesting and we love your van, well done!. Could u tell me where you bought your pan to cook pizzas with and what is it called exactly ? We live in Belgium 🇧🇪 Thank you and best wishes.
@@LifeistooshortCK oh! Thank you very much. At the moment we are playing catch up to give us an idea of how you started your adventure. We, too, are van lifers and next year we intend going on a long trip and possibly spend a few months in Morocco. Enjoy yourselves and make the most of each and every day! Byeeeee🙋♀️
good point on the leaving the Chalks... I've left many of my high end coats and what you would call "jumpers" behind on my end when I take them off to dine in lol
Great video again guys. It would be a pity for the drone laws to go the way you were talking about. I would give up then also if I were in your shoes . Stay safe
Pizza looked excellent. The drone situation is a worry. I hadn’t heard that. You have the food prep down to a fine art. I am like you Ken. Drink very little (Graham). Carol and the wine 😂🤣. No shower please Ken. 😂 nice little history lesson 👍🙏🧙♂️
I noticed that you were parking right at the junction (@4.28), isn't that dangerous or its allowable in France?. Your vid never failed to amaze your viewers. Thanks.
It’s debatable because we thought that was a cycle path along the river. We felt totally safe there and no vehicles went past us the whole time we were there. Thanks for watching 🙂
Ken I'm impressed with Carol's botanical knowledge... However I don't think it was a Gunnera...I do like the way you did the pizza.. I guess just one side in the ridge monkey. right?
Hello 🖐 ... I love love love 😍 your wee red van, your fabulous videos, and your beautiful wife ... oh and you're not so bad yourself! 😄 Looking forward to seeing more 😀 ... Hugs Valerie ❤ 🍁👵🇨🇦
It was only enigmatic in the trailer. Drone laws tightening up. I am still thinking about getting a drone, but the rules are already quite tight in Germany.
Ken you do make me laugh, I like your wit. Thank you both for listing the music you play, very helpful. Over the last week or so ,I have found myself repeatedly binge watching your channel and enjoying it very much.
"I am being good and not having any.... And if you believe that you will believe anything" ... 😂😂😂

Chicken doughnuts! Come on. No sense of adventure? Or a good science experiment? Or ruin Carol's magic kitchen? Better safe than sorry.
No chance! 😂

I found it difficult shopping in small individual shops in France as my French is crap. The supermarkets are much better.

Excellent video thanks for posting. Did you manage your 30 Ken?
Awesome relaxing couple of days, thanks for sharing, love your journey. 💗💗🙋♀️🙋♀️
Love the latest film and the music is great too thanks C&K
Thanks for watching Damien 🙂
Very enjoyable. Thank you.
Long comment alert lol as typing as I watch lying in Harry on Cork - Janes doing the chainsaw impression 😂
Love as ever your pace - effortless ( I know it isn’t at time )
Chicken donuts sounds bloody weird.
Food in the supermarket looked a spectacular choice
Drone trackers to the social flyer - I hope not but like you I suspect it will come…… sad day when it does
We’re getting to appreciate long wild parkups as they are a real treat
Meat balls looked great
Brave Ken on hair and showing interest lol we are still evolving Janes long hair … just had a disaster with usb shower going off in the van it felt like an out of control snake lol😂 water everywhere
Ken please don’t strip
And finally loved the battle history
Sorry for the long comment - I am sure YT will love it
Stay safe guys and happy travels - Stew n Jane
We like long comments and so if you stop now we will know you don’t like us anymore 😁👍
The vision of an out of control usb snake in the van is horrifying. We hope you are both out of hospital soon 😁👍
Have you found a rubbish bin in Ireland yet. If you do please share the what 3 words 😁👍
@@LifeistooshortCK 😂 yes bins have got easier to be honest we are trying a few aires out at Dungarvan and cobh and pretty good compared to uk but suspect not as good as France - anyway nice to do and film something different
well, i hope you do not give up on drone flights. you might shorten them... up, plan around, down, and move on. you are very good at it. spaghetti wise, more sugar... that surprised me, but you are in a different part in the world. you really do enjoy life, thanks for sharing.
so at 15:47 I understand the title of the episode maybe it should have been "it's a trap"... "Oh my dear your hair is AMAZING" lol
We always use Leclerc when in France.
Wow Ken can't wait fir you to try that shower out!!😄😘
OMG, I did it again, forgot to have breakfast before watching! You got a bit cheeky there Ken 🙂.
Great video, thank you. David
Cheers 👍
Hi, I've just discovered your video, very interesting and we love your van, well done!. Could u tell me where you bought your pan to cook pizzas with and what is it called exactly ? We live in Belgium 🇧🇪 Thank you and best wishes.
Welcome to our channel and greetings to Belgium 🇧🇪 The pan is called a Ridge Monkey and we have the XL version. 👍
Byeeeee🙋♀️
@@johnkenway2188 thanks for watching and we hope you get to fulfill your dreams. Morocco sounds fantastic 😀
good point on the leaving the Chalks... I've left many of my high end coats and what you would call "jumpers" behind on my end when I take them off to dine in lol
Great video again guys. It would be a pity for the drone laws to go the way you were talking about. I would give up then also if I were in your shoes . Stay safe
Thanks for watching 🙂
@@LifeistooshortCK Thank you for posting them.
Looking forward to Norway ☺️
We really enjoyed this video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂👍
Nice to see everyday life in another land. Chicken Donuts!!! 😄
You had me there for a second Ken regarding the pizza 🍕 😁🤣👍
Beautiful countryside. 😂 “trick question”
Hi Ken and Carol.
Hi Larry 👋
Pizza looked excellent. The drone situation is a worry. I hadn’t heard that. You have the food prep down to a fine art. I am like you Ken. Drink very little (Graham). Carol and the wine 😂🤣. No shower please Ken. 😂 nice little history lesson 👍🙏🧙♂️
Cheers 😁👍
I noticed that you were parking right at the junction (@4.28), isn't that dangerous or its allowable in France?. Your vid never failed to amaze your viewers. Thanks.
It’s debatable because we thought that was a cycle path along the river. We felt totally safe there and no vehicles went past us the whole time we were there. Thanks for watching 🙂
Ken I'm impressed with Carol's botanical knowledge... However I don't think it was a Gunnera...I do like the way you did the pizza.. I guess just one side in the ridge monkey. right?
Yes, never flip a pizza in a RidgeMonkey. We speak from experience 😂
Nature, France, supermarkets, cooking, natural history, and I do like a bit of longbow history. Thank you!
Thanks for watching Jonathan 🙂
Hello 🖐 ... I love love love 😍 your wee red van, your fabulous videos, and your beautiful wife ... oh and you're not so bad yourself! 😄
Looking forward to seeing more 😀 ...
Hugs Valerie ❤

Thank you Valerie, you’re very kind ❤️
Why your enigmatic comment about "how long will I be allowed to do this..."
Rules becoming too prohibitive to fly them
It was only enigmatic in the trailer. Drone laws tightening up. I am still thinking about getting a drone, but the rules are already quite tight in Germany.
@@davidmarks5282 I think we have a couple of years left before I bail out
The best fun I ever had is staying in my tiny van
Ken you do make me laugh, I like your wit. Thank you both for listing the music you play, very helpful. Over the last week or so ,I have found myself repeatedly binge watching your channel and enjoying it very much.
You are welcome 👍
Loved the video 👌 so entertaining thank you 🤗🙌❤️
Here is the states the pastry "BEAR FEET" is called a "bear claw". Glazed like a donut, often with cinnamon in between two layers of fluffy dough.
Now that sounds yummy 😁👍
