Scott is a REALLY decent guy, and very generous in his treatment of his bandmates. How often do you hear a guitar player, let alone one of his stature, praise another player the way Scott praised Robbo in this interview?
Scott is a great Guitar player fer sure. I love the way he recounts his stories.. What an honest and eloquent guy in his own way., Brian Downey the same. Actually all great guys.
They found their guitar harmony sound by accident, when accidentally two lead tracks on tape were played back at the same time, accidentally playing harmony. The rest is history.
@FreedomZealot They really seem like a band of brothers - I wish they could sort out their differences and play again. They were very good with Vinnie Moore last say, needless to say!
I'm confident that Scott was taking something during this time. He seems really chillaxed in this, and other, interviews during this era. I have wondered if Scott ever started taking painkillers after his heroin days came to an end? I read an old interview with him and he was talking about taking painkillers when he was a teenager and apparently he really struggled with it.. the depression and everything... So I wouldn't be surprised if he was taking painkillers here. I know for a fact that once a person has a problem with opioids, it's difficult if not impossible to completely forget about it. The brain simply misses that feeling and wants it again
It's funny how every big band has a member who is bitter and whiny, a member who gets rewards but doesn't take overall responsibility. You find these people in Stones, ABBA, Kiss, Metallica, WASP etc etc. Doesn't matter wich genre. Success, money and credibility doesn't seem to matter. There's always room for bitterness. Come on, Lynnot was the leader, the catalyst, the visionary. He could write songs with just about anyone. Of course he got the credits on Lizzy albums. Phil was a great songwriter.
robbo has a bit of a chip on his shoulder me thinks..................he was a great player back then though.................but there's a chip on the shoulder...!
We will never know just how much of what Brian Robertson said was true or bullshit. He could just be sore that Phil Lynott received so much acclaim. I'm not saying that's the truth, but everyone has their own different version of the same story.
I could listen to Scott all day.

what a major turning point for the band, brilliant player
scott gorham is the key to the bands sound
They deserve way more credit
Class act. Listen to Bad Reputation
Scott’s all over that album. One of my favs
Amen, Bad Reputation in my mind is the Scott Gorham solo album of the 70s. Mr. Melody... each solo tells a story.
Fantastic guitar player Scott is, his solos are like songs within a song so melodic and beautiful phrasing!
Downey another one of those masters of the twin bass kit.
Thanks! Really like these interviews.
He’s A Great GuitarPlayer
♥️🌟💙🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸
gorham/robertson were the greatest pairing of all time. no speed metal necessary.
Gorham is just a good human being. Don’t get any sense of a mean bone in his body. Just generous and full of seeing the good in things

I wanna play guitar like Scott!
Robbo finally looking like a member of Motörhead.
He was only about 25 years late haha
Hilarious
3:54 you gotta luv Robbos accent!
love the way robbo says "record companies..."
still love your work!!
Robbo almost lost his accent and that's nae guid at aw... :-(
He's a Gers fan though, so he's welcomed to it as well, he's forgiven. :-p
NIGHTLIFE is fucking brilliant .
I agree. I think it's my favorite of the classic Lizzy albums. No shit
He called Eric Bell "Diva- like"
Lol 😂😂
It looks that way from this interview. What was it Brian says after Scott praised him at 7:40
Thanks a bunch , Scott
cheers once again

Phil was a great songwriter.
Great interviews but it's very disconcerting how the cameraman periodically goes the crutch shot. WTF is that all about ? ? ?
GET OUT of the pub Robbo ,come back to LIZZY !!!
what is wrong with brian and scott?
...Elaborate?
robbo has a bit of a chip on his shoulder me thinks..................he was a great player back then though.................but there's a chip on the shoulder...!
yes. love his playing but angry guy
Scott speaks as if he's a little drunk...but who cares? This is a great series of Thin Lizzy interviews!

where was robertson when phil was writing the songs? he was not even a member of lizzy so he should really stop bitching about it.
Interesting I never gathered that from Robbo. I think he really loved Phil. But it’s just Robbo. Or at least that’s my impression.
