My Personal ranking for the Ninja is: 1. Jay, he's been my favourite since day one, I'm fan of the colour blue & I relate to his creativity, anxiety & sense of humour, also Lightning is a cool element. 2. Zane, is a close second, I just thought that fact that he's a Nindroid was pretty cool (pun intended) and I enjoy his character. 3. Nya, she's a strong & intelligent character with a unique character arc. and I enjoy her relationship with Jay. 4. Cole, like you said, he's the heart of the team, a strong & dependable leader when Lloyd's not around and a loyal friend to have. And I can relate to his fondness for cake, music/ dancing & art, in addition to relating to his backstory a bit. 5. Sora, I like her tech powers and I guess I can relate to her seemingly fondness for cats. 6. Probably Arin, I appreciate his optimism. 7. Lloyd, it's interesting to see the character development he's gone through during the series... from an Annoying bratty kid, to now a new Ninja Master/Sensei. 8. Kai, I never really related to his hot-headed personality much, and his cockiness could get a bit obnoxious at times, but he's still a great character. I admire his loyalty & compassion for his friends & family, especially his younger sister, Nya. 9. Wyldfyre, she's a cool character, but similarly to Kai, I find it difficult to relate to her. Although, her backstory or what we know so far is very unique, that of her being raised by a dragon & a robot.

My ranking: (I didn't include the new ninja cuz I want to know more about them before ranking them) 1. Jay I love so many things about him, he has good humor, a personality that I love. I also have a thing for 'adorable' characters, they're always on my top three. 2. Nya I love how she proves women are amazing, her personality reminds me of myself, she's beautiful and I love light blue as well! 3. Cole I love how he's always keeping himself together yet still being very relatable and the love he has for his friends is beautiful in my opinion. 4. Lloyd I love Lloyd, he's a good person and I think his (current) voice is wonderful, but there are still some better characters. 5. Zane Zane is smart and looks awesome, but I don't relate to him a lot and he often takes jokes seriously which I don't like. (But I still love him ofc) 6. Kai Like the others, I love Kai, I love how he's hot headed and has ego, yet is still thoughtful and kind. But I never really found him as amazing as other characters. Jay is my favorite character he is the funny smart sarcastic character and Wyldfire personally is my least favorite character I think OTs mostly do with her loud rasp and hot headed personality and always being full of herself and easily starts fights but then again she is a new character newer then Sora and Arin so we haven't had much time to find out stuff about her so until maybe like season 3 (season 19) or 4 (season 20) I might change my mind
My opinion from best to worst Jay and cole tied first, they've always been my favorite characters and I love both of them equally Zane second because he's the most moral and selfless ninja in the show Lloyd third because he's gotten the most development in the show and is a pretty good character Kai fourth, Kai has never been my favorite character in the show but dragons rising has made me like Kai a lot more as a character Nya fifth, Nya is a good character but has all of the traits I disliked in Kai Sora sixth because sora was the most interesting character in dragons rising Wyldfire seventh, I like Wyldfires unique personality and her relationship with Kai Arin eighth, I don't hate arin but imo arin was the least interesting character introduced in dragons rising and he feels to similar to Nelson
Wish you included Pixal lol 🤣 I mean she’s not a ninja but she’s essential part of the team no less and she could very well be considered since Pixal makes the ninja their vehicles and she’s been involved since S7 on the team so she very well should be considered a Honorary Ninja and even the ninja said she’s part of our family so I consider Pixal a Ninja but that’s just me because she’s been actively involved If Skylor Nelson Dareth we’re in every season actively contributing to the team I’d say they are ninja and that qualifies
My ranking is as follows: 9. Wyldfire- I kind of genuinely dislike her as a character. I anxiously await her development, that's for sure. That said, her dynamic with Kai is nice. 8. Arin- I like him and all, but he needs more development. He just feels like a combination of Lloyd and Nelson, tbh. (not that that's an issue) 7. Cole- his character is improving, but I kinda just don't really care about him that much. But I did love Land of Lost Things, despite the animators obviously shipping Conya! 6. Zane- I LOVE HIM BUT I LIKE OTHERS MORE, OK- 5. Kai- He used to be my last-place ninja until DR part 2 came out. The "after I lost my sister to the sea... long story" won me over, SOMEONE HAD TO SAY IT AND THE ONLY BETTER CHOICE WAS JAY. 4. Lloyd- his master arc bumped him down a bit, the original one was good but the magic is gone for me. Also, I just think he's trying too hard to replace Wu right now, without considering, oh, I dunno, LOOKING FOR WU 3. Sora- she's cool. 'nuff said. 2. Jay- I MISS HIM SM 😭 also he's just so supportive of Nya, plus I relate to his anxiety and geekiness 1. Nya- OH, THE WAYS I COULD GUSH ABOUT NYA. She's the ninja that made me mildly interested in Ninjago in the first place, and Seabound was the season that actually got me into the show itself. Plus, I'm just such a Jaya simp, I will go down with this ship- it's my OTP lol (please no one attack me, it's all my opinion!!)
Number 9 would be Wyldfyre for me. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE her character, but like you said, someone has to go in the bottom.❤️🔥 Number 8 is Arin! Love him to bits, and really like how the writers were able to make his character optimistic but not to the point of annoyingly optimistic! 🧡 Number 7 has to go to Jay for me. (Man, I know I’m gonna get attacked for this…😓) Now, just to clarify, I LOVE Jay, I do not hate him in the slightest! (He was actually my favorite ninja in the beginning when the series started) But lately his character has been falling flat for me, and he just isn’t as interesting of a character as others in the team now. 💙 Number 6 is gonna go to Cole. I absolutely love him, and am looking forward to seeing what his plot is gonna be in Season 2 of DR. 🖤 Number 5 will go to Zane. Before DR, Zane was actually number one for me, but after rewatching the series along with DR, I just found that I favored other characters over him now. 🤍 Number 4 is gonna go to Nya. She has always been a close favorite of mine over the years, and that has not changed ever! 🩵 Number 3 will be Lloyd. BOY, is this a switch! He used to be my least favorite ninja before DR! 😅 💚 Number 2 and 1 was difficult since I found both these characters to be absolutely amazing because of DR, but decided that 2nd was gonna go to Sora. Her character is just-SOOOO good! The writers did her development in DR so well, and was extremely impressed with the ending of Season 1 having her no longer need approval from her parents. 👍🩷 Number 1 is obviously Kai! Unlike the other ninja being somewhat unlikeable or annoying in some seasons (Nya in Season 3, Jay in the Island, Lloyd in Crystalized, Zane in Season 6, Cole also in Season 3) Kai has never been put in the role of unlikeable for the sake of the plot of a season. He’s always stayed consistent and I for one, very much appreciate that from the writers. Plus, HE’S A GOOD CHARACTER! His growth over the series in remarkable! From being a stubborn hothead to becoming a laidback hothead was wild development! lol! I like how he’s now being a Master for Wyldfyre, and can’t wait to see what DR does with his character next! ❤
As for kai, ninjago definitely nerfed him A LOT after season 7. He was the perfect type of person who was hot headed, aggressive, bold, etc. however, after season 7, kai was literally not even a focus ninja for the rest of the seasons(even in season 11 kai did not get much of a ‘focus ninja’ role)cuz ninjago ‘didn’t know what to do with him’. Also I might be wrong for this but in season 1 episode 17 of dragons rising, kai admittedly said to wyldfire, ‘I was never as good as the others, but ninja never quit.’ But overall I still do respect what ninjago is doing

And yeah, I can see where you’re coming from with Kai not having that much focus in the newer seasons, but I wouldn’t say they nerfed him and I like his character in the newer seasons just as much as in the older ones. He was entertaining on screen and I enjoyed the roles he played in each season.

Worst to best: 9- Wildfire, I just don’t like how she’s kinda replacing Kai. 8- Arin, Arin and Sora are basically tied for the same place, but there’s just one thing that makes him slightly less than Sora, I don’t think he should have elemental powers, I kinda think he should be the one character that doesn’t have powers but is still a ninja. 7- Sora, I think her power is cool, and I like how she’s kinda like Nya, she can just be kinda depressing sometimes and it’s a bit annoying. 6- Nya, my one problem with Nya is that she is a little too hot headed, I feel that as the water ninja she should be a bit more ‘go with the flowy’. 5- Cole, I love how he’s the one character that connects everyone on the team, he is friends with everyone, although I think his relationship with Lloyd is probably the weakest out of all of his with the other ninja. 4- Zane, I love how he’s funny when he’s not even trying to be, and he’s so smart which I think is awesome. 3- Jay, I love his humor, that’s basically it actually 😅, I just really love his sense of humor. 2- Kai, not only is he part of one of my favorite ships, but I love the color red, his hairstyle is pretty cool, I love his attitude, and how he can be a total idiot sometimes, and his powers are awesome! I also love his scar for some reason. 1- Lloyd! I love Lloyd! He’s so awesome, his powers are amazing, I love how he’s the only one with colored eyes, his character development is awesome, I do like all of his design changes, and the trauma, I really love the trauma, that’s one of my favorite parts of him, along with his Oni and Dragon blood, and the fact that he’s the grandson of the FSM (First Spinjitzu Master), and I just love him! He’s amazing! 🤩🤩🤩🤩Oh! And he’s also in my favorite ship. 💚❤️
Yeah, but they are basically carbon copies of each other. I know they have their differences, but in the end they are both hot heads that act without thinking. And I do like how Kai is becoming a bit calmer and more of a Master, I just wish Wildfire maybe had a little bit of a more different personality than him when he was new.

My option from worst to best: 9. Kai,I just don't like him especially in DR pt 1 but in pt 2 he was simply..... GREAT, my opinion may change in season 2 if he remains like this) 8. Lloyd, i just LOVE the way Lloyd's character developed from a braty little kid to a teacher of 2 new ninja, he's a really great character and i can't wait to see him in season 2 DR and meet his dad (he appears in the sets) for loads of reasons, on of them 🟣🟣🟣 And at the end all the characters are great in there way, i just like some a bit more 🤏 I know my list is pretty different, but that's my opinion. If they cared enough to give Kai some development he could be a good character. Admittedly I haven’t seen dragon rising but I’m still salty they never gave him his own season.
@milkyway_studios imo tournament of elements was a team season with everyone playing a part but no one taking the lead. Hands of time was a Kai and Nya season but what meaningful development actually came out of that? And I forgot about s11, my bad. Regardless I’m hoping for a MotM/Seabound/Skybound season where it’s undeniably Kai’s season and he gets meaningful development that stays for a decent amount of time.
MY OPINION From Worst To Best 9:Wyldfyre:she is not very memorable to me. 8:Zane:I like his character but they need to give him more to do. 7:Sora:She is a good character don't get me wrong but I just like other characters more. 6:Cole:Cole was one of my favorite ninja but after season 10 Cole didn't seem like a good character anymore. 5:Nya:She is a good character and I want to see more of her in action. 4:Kai:Kai is one of my favorite ninja even to this day and I really want to see more of his serious moments. 3:Lloyd:From seasons 1 to 7 Lloyd was my favorite ninja alongside Jay but after the redesign I didn't like him as much but that didn't stop me from loving his character. 2:Arin:Even tho Arin was introduced in Dragons Rising I still love his character and I hope he gets more big moments in the next season. 1:Jay:From the start Jay has been my favorite ninja because he has the best backstory and he has the best sense go humor and I REALLY hope he gets a lot of screentime in the next season.
Here's my list, (original 6, I'm on season 13 rn) 6: nya, newest, but a confident ninja more than just the woman on the team. 5: Cole, hear me out, he's kinda boring, earth is the least interesting elemental power and is just bland compared to the others R.I.P his original voice actor. 4: kai, he's arrogant and that makes him kinda annoying at times but he also has the best power of them all, I also love the writing with his relationship with Skylar 3: Lloyd, an amazing leader and the elemental power is mysterious but he is at times the most entertaining 2: jay, he is the most funny and realistic with his scared personality, I also am friends with his voice actors nephew (although they have never seen each other) also his character arc with nya is amazing 1: Zane, he is lovable, nice, mysterious (ice king), and all around so loveable he is the goat. My ranking for dragons rising 9. Jay, he just didn’t get much screen time, but if they do good with him in the future, I’m down with putting him higher 8. Arin, he isn’t bad, but he isn’t my favorite, feel like he could use some more fleshing out 7. Sora, she’s a cool character, and her powers are too, but I just like others more 6. Lloyd, much better than he was in Crystallized, probably one of the best portrayal of him 5. Nya, I didn’t really care for Nya before DR, but she has improved a LOT, and can finally hold her own in a fight 4. Zane, he was probably my least favorite ninja before DR, but Zane is just so much, I dunno, better 3. Wyldfyre, she was my favorite new character, I thought in part 1 she was just gonna be the “Animal-like character” but she turned out to be much better than that, hope to see more of her and Kai in s2! 2. Kai, this guy finally has improved, he’s been in a weird spot since S11, but he’s SOOOO much better now! He’s funny, he’s experienced, and he’s just awesome, hopefully s2 is a Kai season cause he’s on the s2 set boxes (side note, The “Kai” is awesome” 1. I wanna share my top too but im not great with expressing myself/my opinion- 🧍♀️(i did a whole essay/j) : 7- Arin, i dont hate him, and i even like his joyful personality but he dont really stand out from the others imo 6- Sora, i love her power and it seem super interesting, its only her first apparition sooo same abt her she dont "stand out like others", i hope to see more in the future. 5- Wildfyre my literal new one of my fav "ninja" i like how she is connected with these dragons, the relation with kai like a dad or older bro, and maybe her mystery backstory? Yeah she looks mysterious to me. 4- Nya, i really like Nya cuz like she's not like just the "kai sister", "girlfriend of jay", the girl of the team. But Nya, the master of water, the samourai X...I really like the way how she is been developed! 3- The Nintendo switch, Kai, Cole and Jay. I put them at the same level because i couldnt decide 💀 too dificult bro, and i relate to all of the character at least at one thing. In the new season we couldnt see Jay much but in general i like him for his sense of humour and relation with kai like they are like rival? Or something like that, and how he is been portrayed in many season (Nadhakan, Seabound....ect). Cole one of my comfort ninja, at the begining i wasnt too fan of him, he was pretty blank as an character ngl maybe too calm (imo) but i start liked more and more with the movie lego ninjago, when he take care of little wu (he was so adorable and looks like a dad lol) and when he was a ghost...etc and he always seems so calm, i also like his backstory with his mother and the relation with his father. And finally Kai, he was one of my fav when i was a child even so his personality his super confident but i like him for that, he always been like a big bro for Lloyd and maybe wildfyre now. But i was disapointed after the seabound arc, like Nya literaly "disapear" but he was only sad (Jay was totally in panick in the opposite) likeeee he is her Brotherr, he even become a Ninja only for Her. So i was deceveid, in the new season we couldnt see him much but i like him with wildfyre (they are so cute like a lil dad and her fire daughter lol) hope to see more ofc. I also like his backstory, his childhood been robbed cuz he have to raise Nya on his own, and others things. Anyway these 3 will always be in my heart cuz they are the "original" ninja 2- Zen, i like how calm he is, and in the new season when pixal was not here how emotionaly he was show. He feel very very human, he sacrifice himself many times and oh DAMN i liked his emperor era xD his design is soo good and cool. I was also pretty shocked when i found he was a nindroid, but i like how he is represented and scare of only being a robot, hee had a very good character developement. (Im pretty sad abt pixal not being here and zen being sad that heartbreaking 😔) 1- Lloyddd my FAVVVV, my lil baby, lmao. I relate to many times with lloyd (maybe cuz i have daddy issues like him 🧍♀️) i like his relation with his dad and others ninja. How he is scared of his oni part, being betrayed by harumi (i hate her to my heart and soul even if she is a great villain), but i dont like his mom at all apart from the movie koko is so cute. Anyway, my fav part of him is his backstory and personality. I like him so much in his gold era. In the new season he looks like a great master but i feel like he is more the "leader" than the teacher.......he is still a silly teenage boy / young man to me lol Anyway i love him cuz he is my comfort character 😭 Sooo that my top 7! (Sorry if my english is broke 💀 im not a native.) Also i like you're top even if i think kai is low? But that my opinion 💃 Im super excited for the new season, hope it will came soon 🥳.
Tbh its too DIFFICULT to chose, my real top is : 2- New ninja (Soar, arin, wildfyre) Cuz they are new and we dont know muvh abt them 1- The OG ninjas, they are ALL great to me even their bad sides i love all of them, they are all unique 😢 Its the torture to chose.
Pretty understandable and agreeable list however there are some hot takes imo. My list would be: #9 - Wyldfire (I find her annoying) #8 - Sora (She's fine but a bit overrated) #7 - Arin ( I actually do enjoy his character) #6 - Nya (The first truly great character so far) #5 - Lloyd (His peak was definitely the Oni trilogy but outside of that he's still great) #4 - Kai (Newfound respect for him after re-watching some of the show this year) #3 - Zane (Has some of the best scenes in the show) #2 - Cole (I always appreciated him but after Master of the Mountain and especially Kirby Morrow's passing, I've found a lot of new appreciation for his character. R.I.P Kirby) #1 - Jay (He's always been my favourite. My favourite colour is blue because of him and Skybound was my introduction to Ninjago)
My personal ranking for the Ninjas are 1. Zane He's always been my favorite. I love how human he is despite him being a robot. I love his backstory and what he can bring to the team. I just wish the Ninjago team didn't downplay S11 and how that affected him as a character, would have loved to see how concuring a whole realm and commiting genocide would affect our favorite ninja. 2. Kai As time went on, I felt myself just loving this hotheaded cocky ninja. He's funny, confident, loves his friends and a whole lot more. I found myself relating to him as he is the older brother and had to be the responsible one. Sure I relate to Zane more but still. I can't wait to see how his character will turn out in dragons rising. 3. Cole Ever since MotM, he got up quite high on the list. He's down to earth, soft and very loyal. His backstory makes me cry and I just love his character a lot. I am really curious as to how they'll deal with him in the future. 4. Jay It was hard choosing who should be next but if I have to be honest, I love Jay's character, especially in the older seasons. He's extremely funny, caring and honest. After they nerfed him, I am really excited with his character after seeing a glimpse of him. To be frank, I was legit freaking out a ton seeing him after so long. 5. Lloyd He's always been a hit or miss character for mw, but I really like the layers of him and his development. I'd like to think his chidlish actions during S11 to Crystallized is mainly due to him wanting to be a child again. I am happy to see him finally tap into the master role after so long of waiting. 6. Nya She went through a lot of changes. During Seabound, that really chabged how I saw her character. She never gives up and wants whats best for your family. She's independant and good at what she does. What else is there to say? 7. Wyldfire Theres not much to say tbh. I'd say Wyldfireand Sora are very close. Wyldfire is so much fun to watch and her relationship with Kai is adorable. Cant wait to see more of her 8. Sora I love the character arc she goes through frombeing a pessimistic person to looking at hope. Her finally not lookong for validation from her parents allowed her to finally grow. She's a unique character 9. Arin He hasn't had his moment to shine yet but I'm still excited for it. Who knows what he will encounter? I cant wait

my list 1)LLoyd-in my opinion he is still the strongest and is the most developped 2)Cole- MotM gave him a lot of attention . would like to see how they handle his journey in DR 3)Zane-he is smart but needs more focus 4)Kai-he has the best element and got more attention in DR season 1 however he seems to regressed 5)Nya- she is one of the strongest but is just insufferable in DR 6)Jay - didn't do anything in DR season 1 but if he gets more focus he would be higher on this list. he is still one of my favourites but between the other ninja he is 6th 7) Wyldfire- she has so much potential and is my favourite of the new ninja 8)Arin- has ALOT of potential and character work but since he doesn't have an elemental power (yet) he is a bit useless till he finds his true potential 9)Sora- she is SOO annoying and ovverated IMO. Her element is alright but she rarely needs to use it. Her backstory is probably the most stretched out so far and her personality is HEAVILY DISLIKEABLE. But this is my opinion (bias)
9. Arin: cool concept but Lloyd REALLY stole his thunder at times 8. Nya: honestly sea bound is the only reason why she isn't 9 she just doesn't have much going for her in my opinion 7. wildfire: I like her personality and her development with Kai is going to be interesting 6. Sora: the most developed new ninja and good story 5. Jay: was very funny in the beginning but after season 10 he just wasn't funny 4. Lloyd: was my favorite ninja until season 8 when it was revealed that his design and voice changed and it broke my 7 year old heart 3. Zane: I mean COME ON if Zane isn't in the top 3 then are you serious that one episode is the main reason he's so loved 2. Kai: used to be fav back in the day and dragons rising gives him something to do 1. Cole: before he was just cool and that's it but ever since season 13 he became my favorite can't wait to see what happens in DR season 2
I still don't feel Sora and Wyldfyre will become "ninja ninja" because neither need to be them to be strong or fight for what they believe in. But a good ranking for you, I always like that you make it clear somebody has to be at the bottom and nobody is bad.

JAY ❤️ I have always find Jay the funniest and most relatable of the ninja, but I will admit that in newer seasons he seems a bit watered down. I am really looking forward to see what they do with his character in dragons rising.

Arin has a kind and funny personality, really like his abilities and unique hobby of making pie, I also like how he can be clumsy. He’s a well-rounded character with an overall great personality and I love his connection with Lloyd, it’s adorable. Sora is awesome as well, I love her pink technology power and how she’s more advanced in engineering than Nya, I love her love for dragons and her connection with Xanthe (who is an amazing dragon btw). I like how she switched names and at the very last episode, she really shows how strong she is mentally when she gave that speech and when she stood up to her parents. I like how she can be laid back too, at the beginning I found her wanting to sleep a lot funny. As for Wyldfire, she annoyed me quite a bit at first, I also didn’t like how she had a similar element to Kai, but with her mellowing out more and getting a better bond her with Kai, I began to like her more. Her wild attitude is funny sometimes and I like how she was raised by a dragon and a caregiver bot, and her actual origins remain a mystery, which I really like too.

My ranking. Lloyd is first, he has progressed from a bratty child to a ninja master. He's just awsome! Then Cole, because of all the reasons listed in this video. He is also so chill, so yeah he's great. So don't get upset but number 3 is Wyldfire. She's so energetic crazy. You gotta love her. Then Kai is next. Last year he was at the bottom of the list, but dragons rising lifted him high. Then Nya has also been great. She sounds a grown responsible woman. And seeing that she sad from the loss of her ying (husband) warmed my heart. Zane. He's my dad's favorite. Jay has been going down for me. Like for the 30s that he was in dragons rising, they made a videogame joke. Sora then Arin.

Not surprised that you would choose Cole and Zane as your top two. Their steadfastness and family dedication make them appealing. Of course, Lloyd is my top favorite because of his resilience, tenacity, and big heart. His life took him to **** and back multiple times, but he keeps on going. Other than that, I think you should give Wyldfire a higher rank just because of how funny she is.

My Personal ranking for the Ninja is:
1. Jay, he's been my favourite since day one, I'm fan of the colour blue & I relate to his creativity, anxiety & sense of humour, also Lightning is a cool element.
2. Zane, is a close second, I just thought that fact that he's a Nindroid was pretty cool (pun intended) and I enjoy his character.
3. Nya, she's a strong & intelligent character with a unique character arc. and I enjoy her relationship with Jay.
4. Cole, like you said, he's the heart of the team, a strong & dependable leader when Lloyd's not around and a loyal friend to have. And I can relate to his fondness for cake, music/ dancing & art, in addition to relating to his backstory a bit.
5. Sora, I like her tech powers and I guess I can relate to her seemingly fondness for cats.
6. Probably Arin, I appreciate his optimism.
7. Lloyd, it's interesting to see the character development he's gone through during the series... from an Annoying bratty kid, to now a new Ninja Master/Sensei.
8. Kai, I never really related to his hot-headed personality much, and his cockiness could get a bit obnoxious at times, but he's still a great character. I admire his loyalty & compassion for his friends & family, especially his younger sister, Nya.
9. Wyldfyre, she's a cool character, but similarly to Kai, I find it difficult to relate to her. Although, her backstory or what we know so far is very unique, that of her being raised by a dragon & a robot.

I love so many things about him, he has good humor, a personality that I love. I also have a thing for 'adorable' characters, they're always on my top three.

Jay and cole tied first, they've always been my favorite characters and I love both of them equally

If Skylor Nelson Dareth we’re in every season actively contributing to the team I’d say they are ninja and that qualifies

9. Wyldfire- I kind of genuinely dislike her as a character. I anxiously await her development, that's for sure. That said, her dynamic with Kai is nice.
8. Arin- I like him and all, but he needs more development. He just feels like a combination of Lloyd and Nelson, tbh. (not that that's an issue)
7. Cole- his character is improving, but I kinda just don't really care about him that much. But I did love Land of Lost Things, despite the animators obviously shipping Conya!
6. Zane- I LOVE HIM BUT I LIKE OTHERS MORE, OK-
5. Kai- He used to be my last-place ninja until DR part 2 came out. The "after I lost my sister to the sea... long story" won me over, SOMEONE HAD TO SAY IT AND THE ONLY BETTER CHOICE WAS JAY.
4. Lloyd- his master arc bumped him down a bit, the original one was good but the magic is gone for me. Also, I just think he's trying too hard to replace Wu right now, without considering, oh, I dunno, LOOKING FOR WU

Number 7 has to go to Jay for me. (Man, I know I’m gonna get attacked for this…😓) Now, just to clarify, I LOVE Jay, I do not hate him in the slightest! (He was actually my favorite ninja in the beginning when the series started) But lately his character has been falling flat for me, and he just isn’t as interesting of a character as others in the team now. 💙
Number 6 is gonna go to Cole. I absolutely love him, and am looking forward to seeing what his plot is gonna be in Season 2 of DR. 🖤
Number 5 will go to Zane. Before DR, Zane was actually number one for me, but after rewatching the series along with DR, I just found that I favored other characters over him now. 🤍

Number 2 and 1 was difficult since I found both these characters to be absolutely amazing because of DR, but decided that 2nd was gonna go to Sora. Her character is just-SOOOO good! The writers did her development in DR so well, and was extremely impressed with the ending of Season 1 having her no longer need approval from her parents. 👍🩷
Number 1 is obviously Kai! Unlike the other ninja being somewhat unlikeable or annoying in some seasons (Nya in Season 3, Jay in the Island, Lloyd in Crystalized, Zane in Season 6, Cole also in Season 3) Kai has never been put in the role of unlikeable for the sake of the plot of a season. He’s always stayed consistent and I for one, very much appreciate that from the writers. Plus, HE’S A GOOD CHARACTER! His growth over the series in remarkable! From being a stubborn hothead to becoming a laidback hothead was wild development! lol!
I like how he’s now being a Master for Wyldfyre, and can’t wait to see what DR does with his character next! ❤
As for kai, ninjago definitely nerfed him A LOT after season 7. He was the perfect type of person who was hot headed, aggressive, bold, etc. however, after season 7, kai was literally not even a focus ninja for the rest of the seasons(even in season 11 kai did not get much of a ‘focus ninja’ role)cuz ninjago ‘didn’t know what to do with him’. Also I might be wrong for this but in season 1 episode 17 of dragons rising, kai admittedly said to wyldfire, ‘I was never as good as the others, but ninja never quit.’ But overall I still do respect what ninjago is doing

And yeah, I can see where you’re coming from with Kai not having that much focus in the newer seasons, but I wouldn’t say they nerfed him and I like his character in the newer seasons just as much as in the older ones. He was entertaining on screen and I enjoyed the roles he played in each season.

9- Wildfire, I just don’t like how she’s kinda replacing Kai.
8- Arin, Arin and Sora are basically tied for the same place, but there’s just one thing that makes him slightly less than Sora, I don’t think he should have elemental powers, I kinda think he should be the one character that doesn’t have powers but is still a ninja.
7- Sora, I think her power is cool, and I like how she’s kinda like Nya, she can just be kinda depressing sometimes and it’s a bit annoying.
6- Nya, my one problem with Nya is that she is a little too hot headed, I feel that as the water ninja she should be a bit more ‘go with the flowy’.
5- Cole, I love how he’s the one character that connects everyone on the team, he is friends with everyone, although I think his relationship with Lloyd is probably the weakest out of all of his with the other ninja.
4- Zane, I love how he’s funny when he’s not even trying to be, and he’s so smart which I think is awesome.
3- Jay, I love his humor, that’s basically it actually 😅, I just really love his sense of humor.
2- Kai, not only is he part of one of my favorite ships, but I love the color red, his hairstyle is pretty cool, I love his attitude, and how he can be a total idiot sometimes, and his powers are awesome! I also love his scar for some reason.
1- Lloyd! I love Lloyd! He’s so awesome, his powers are amazing, I love how he’s the only one with colored eyes, his character development is awesome, I do like all of his design changes, and the trauma, I really love the trauma, that’s one of my favorite parts of him, along with his Oni and Dragon blood, and the fact that he’s the grandson of the FSM (First Spinjitzu Master), and I just love him! He’s amazing! 🤩🤩🤩🤩Oh! And he’s also in my favorite ship. 💚❤️

Yeah, but they are basically carbon copies of each other. I know they have their differences, but in the end they are both hot heads that act without thinking. And I do like how Kai is becoming a bit calmer and more of a Master, I just wish Wildfire maybe had a little bit of a more different personality than him when he was new.

8. Arin, I really like Arin but he needs more time for more character development.
7. Wyldfyre, She's great, I really like her relationship with Kai, and her craziness, lol.
6. Sora, she's my fav out of the new ninja, her character's arc was GREAT in DR, but of course if she gets character development she may go higher.
5. Jay, I really like him he's REALLY funny and maybe after DR season 2 he'll go higher.
4. Cole, he's a great character he share characteristics from all the other 3 og ninja snd je just need a season for him to shine.
3. Zane, I just find Zane a very, very interesting character, he was ones first, but due to lack of character development he just didn't be great as he used to be, I hope season 2 gives him some focus...
2. Nya, I really like Nya and her character, and her character development is interesting and fun.
1. Lloyd, i just LOVE the way Lloyd's character developed from a braty little kid to a teacher of 2 new ninja, he's a really great character and i can't wait to see him in season 2 DR and meet his dad (he appears in the sets) for loads of reasons, on of them 🟣🟣🟣
And at the end all the characters are great in there way, i just like some a bit more 🤏

@milkyway_studios imo tournament of elements was a team season with everyone playing a part but no one taking the lead. Hands of time was a Kai and Nya season but what meaningful development actually came out of that? And I forgot about s11, my bad. Regardless I’m hoping for a MotM/Seabound/Skybound season where it’s undeniably Kai’s season and he gets meaningful development that stays for a decent amount of time.
MY OPINION From Worst To Best
9:Wyldfyre:she is not very memorable to me.
8:Zane:I like his character but they need to give him more to do.
7:Sora:She is a good character don't get me wrong but I just like other characters more.
6:Cole:Cole was one of my favorite ninja but after season 10 Cole didn't seem like a good character anymore.
5:Nya:She is a good character and I want to see more of her in action.
4:Kai:Kai is one of my favorite ninja even to this day and I really want to see more of his serious moments.
3:Lloyd:From seasons 1 to 7 Lloyd was my favorite ninja alongside Jay but after the redesign I didn't like him as much but that didn't stop me from loving his character.
2:Arin:Even tho Arin was introduced in Dragons Rising I still love his character and I hope he gets more big moments in the next season.
1:Jay:From the start Jay has been my favorite ninja because he has the best backstory and he has the best sense go humor and I REALLY hope he gets a lot of screentime in the next season.

5: Cole, hear me out, he's kinda boring, earth is the least interesting elemental power and is just bland compared to the others R.I.P his original voice actor.
4: kai, he's arrogant and that makes him kinda annoying at times but he also has the best power of them all, I also love the writing with his relationship with Skylar
3: Lloyd, an amazing leader and the elemental power is mysterious but he is at times the most entertaining
2: jay, he is the most funny and realistic with his scared personality, I also am friends with his voice actors nephew (although they have never seen each other) also his character arc with nya is amazing
1: Zane, he is lovable, nice, mysterious (ice king), and all around so loveable he is the goat.

9. Jay, he just didn’t get much screen time, but if they do good with him in the future, I’m down with putting him higher
8. Arin, he isn’t bad, but he isn’t my favorite, feel like he could use some more fleshing out
7. Sora, she’s a cool character, and her powers are too, but I just like others more
6. Lloyd, much better than he was in Crystallized, probably one of the best portrayal of him
5. Nya, I didn’t really care for Nya before DR, but she has improved a LOT, and can finally hold her own in a fight

Cole is OP, and he’s definitely my favorite character. He’s been my favorite since 2014 when I started watching.
I wanna share my top too but im not great with expressing myself/my opinion- 🧍♀️(i did a whole essay/j) :
7- Arin, i dont hate him, and i even like his joyful personality but he dont really stand out from the others imo
6- Sora, i love her power and it seem super interesting, its only her first apparition sooo same abt her she dont "stand out like others", i hope to see more in the future.
5- Wildfyre my literal new one of my fav "ninja" i like how she is connected with these dragons, the relation with kai like a dad or older bro, and maybe her mystery backstory? Yeah she looks mysterious to me.
4- Nya, i really like Nya cuz like she's not like just the "kai sister", "girlfriend of jay", the girl of the team. But Nya, the master of water, the samourai X...I really like the way how she is been developed!
3- The Nintendo switch, Kai, Cole and Jay. I put them at the same level because i couldnt decide 💀 too dificult bro, and i relate to all of the character at least at one thing. In the new season we couldnt see Jay much but in general i like him for his sense of humour and relation with kai like they are like rival? Or something like that, and how he is been portrayed in many season (Nadhakan, Seabound....ect). Cole one of my comfort ninja, at the begining i wasnt too fan of him, he was pretty blank as an character ngl maybe too calm (imo) but i start liked more and more with the movie lego ninjago, when he take care of little wu (he was so adorable and looks like a dad lol) and when he was a ghost...etc and he always seems so calm, i also like his backstory with his mother and the relation with his father. And finally Kai, he was one of my fav when i was a child even so his personality his super confident but i like him for that, he always been like a big bro for Lloyd and maybe wildfyre now. But i was disapointed after the seabound arc, like Nya literaly "disapear" but he was only sad (Jay was totally in panick in the opposite) likeeee he is her Brotherr, he even become a Ninja only for Her. So i was deceveid, in the new season we couldnt see him much but i like him with wildfyre (they are so cute like a lil dad and her fire daughter lol) hope to see more ofc. I also like his backstory, his childhood been robbed cuz he have to raise Nya on his own, and others things. Anyway these 3 will always be in my heart cuz they are the "original" ninja
2- Zen, i like how calm he is, and in the new season when pixal was not here how emotionaly he was show. He feel very very human, he sacrifice himself many times and oh DAMN i liked his emperor era xD his design is soo good and cool. I was also pretty shocked when i found he was a nindroid, but i like how he is represented and scare of only being a robot, hee had a very good character developement. (Im pretty sad abt pixal not being here and zen being sad that heartbreaking 😔)
1- Lloyddd my FAVVVV, my lil baby, lmao. I relate to many times with lloyd (maybe cuz i have daddy issues like him 🧍♀️) i like his relation with his dad and others ninja. How he is scared of his oni part, being betrayed by harumi (i hate her to my heart and soul even if she is a great villain), but i dont like his mom at all apart from the movie koko is so cute. Anyway, my fav part of him is his backstory and personality. I like him so much in his gold era. In the new season he looks like a great master but i feel like he is more the "leader" than the teacher.......he is still a silly teenage boy / young man to me lol

Pretty understandable and agreeable list however there are some hot takes imo. My list would be:
#9 - Wyldfire (I find her annoying)
#8 - Sora (She's fine but a bit overrated)
#7 - Arin ( I actually do enjoy his character)
#6 - Nya (The first truly great character so far)
#5 - Lloyd (His peak was definitely the Oni trilogy but outside of that he's still great)
#4 - Kai (Newfound respect for him after re-watching some of the show this year)
#3 - Zane (Has some of the best scenes in the show)
#2 - Cole (I always appreciated him but after Master of the Mountain and especially Kirby Morrow's passing, I've found a lot of new appreciation for his character. R.I.P Kirby)

1. Zane
He's always been my favorite. I love how human he is despite him being a robot. I love his backstory and what he can bring to the team. I just wish the Ninjago team didn't downplay S11 and how that affected him as a character, would have loved to see how concuring a whole realm and commiting genocide would affect our favorite ninja.
2. Kai
As time went on, I felt myself just loving this hotheaded cocky ninja. He's funny, confident, loves his friends and a whole lot more. I found myself relating to him as he is the older brother and had to be the responsible one. Sure I relate to Zane more but still. I can't wait to see how his character will turn out in dragons rising.
3. Cole
Ever since MotM, he got up quite high on the list. He's down to earth, soft and very loyal. His backstory makes me cry and I just love his character a lot. I am really curious as to how they'll deal with him in the future.
4. Jay
It was hard choosing who should be next but if I have to be honest, I love Jay's character, especially in the older seasons. He's extremely funny, caring and honest. After they nerfed him, I am really excited with his character after seeing a glimpse of him. To be frank, I was legit freaking out a ton seeing him after so long.
5. Lloyd
He's always been a hit or miss character for mw, but I really like the layers of him and his development. I'd like to think his chidlish actions during S11 to Crystallized is mainly due to him wanting to be a child again. I am happy to see him finally tap into the master role after so long of waiting.
6. Nya
She went through a lot of changes. During Seabound, that really chabged how I saw her character. She never gives up and wants whats best for your family. She's independant and good at what she does. What else is there to say?
7. Wyldfire
Theres not much to say tbh. I'd say Wyldfireand Sora are very close. Wyldfire is so much fun to watch and her relationship with Kai is adorable. Cant wait to see more of her
8. Sora
I love the character arc she goes through frombeing a pessimistic person to looking at hope. Her finally not lookong for validation from her parents allowed her to finally grow. She's a unique character
9. Arin
He hasn't had his moment to shine yet but I'm still excited for it. Who knows what he will encounter? I cant wait

2)Cole- MotM gave him a lot of attention . would like to see how they handle his journey in DR
3)Zane-he is smart but needs more focus
4)Kai-he has the best element and got more attention in DR season 1 however he seems to regressed
5)Nya- she is one of the strongest but is just insufferable in DR
6)Jay - didn't do anything in DR season 1 but if he gets more focus he would be higher on this list. he is still one of my favourites but between the other ninja he is 6th
7) Wyldfire- she has so much potential and is my favourite of the new ninja
8)Arin- has ALOT of potential and character work but since he doesn't have an elemental power (yet) he is a bit useless till he finds his true potential
9)Sora- she is SOO annoying and ovverated IMO. Her element is alright but she rarely needs to use it. Her backstory is probably the most stretched out so far and her personality is HEAVILY DISLIKEABLE.

5. Jay: was very funny in the beginning but after season 10 he just wasn't funny
4. Lloyd: was my favorite ninja until season 8 when it was revealed that his design and voice changed and it broke my 7 year old heart

When I try ranking them, I end up putting all of them at 1st. I just love all of them 😭
I still don't feel Sora and Wyldfyre will become "ninja ninja" because neither need to be them to be strong or fight for what they believe in. But a good ranking for you, I always like that you make it clear somebody has to be at the bottom and nobody is bad.
I actually like Kai, I just like him, in Germany he has the German Anakin voice, so that also added to it I guess.
Season 6 handled Jay the best in my opinion

I have always find Jay the funniest and most relatable of the ninja, but I will admit that in newer seasons he seems a bit watered down. I am really looking forward to see what they do with his character in dragons rising.

Hard to choose between Arin and Sora, reason I put them above a few of the original ninja is because they intrigue me. Arin has a kind and funny personality, really like his abilities and unique hobby of making pie, I also like how he can be clumsy. He’s a well-rounded character with an overall great personality and I love his connection with Lloyd, it’s adorable.
Sora is awesome as well, I love her pink technology power and how she’s more advanced in engineering than Nya, I love her love for dragons and her connection with Xanthe (who is an amazing dragon btw). I like how she switched names and at the very last episode, she really shows how strong she is mentally when she gave that speech and when she stood up to her parents. I like how she can be laid back too, at the beginning I found her wanting to sleep a lot funny.
As for Wyldfire, she annoyed me quite a bit at first, I also didn’t like how she had a similar element to Kai, but with her mellowing out more and getting a better bond her with Kai, I began to like her more. Her wild attitude is funny sometimes and I like how she was raised by a dragon and a caregiver bot, and her actual origins remain a mystery, which I really like too.

My ranking. Lloyd is first, he has progressed from a bratty child to a ninja master. He's just awsome! Then Cole, because of all the reasons listed in this video. He is also so chill, so yeah he's great. So don't get upset but number 3 is Wyldfire. She's so energetic crazy. You gotta love her. Then Kai is next. Last year he was at the bottom of the list, but dragons rising lifted him high. Then Nya has also been great. She sounds a grown responsible woman. And seeing that she sad from the loss of her ying (husband) warmed my heart. Zane. He's my dad's favorite. Jay has been going down for me. Like for the 30s that he was in dragons rising, they made a videogame joke. Sora then Arin.

Not surprised that you would choose Cole and Zane as your top two. Their steadfastness and family dedication make them appealing.
Of course, Lloyd is my top favorite because of his resilience, tenacity, and big heart. His life took him to **** and back multiple times, but he keeps on going.
Other than that, I think you should give Wyldfire a higher rank just because of how funny she is.

I liked too much Sora and Arin, but wildfire to don't say I hate her, I just don't like her. Kai, Nya and Jay, it's not that I dislike them, I like them alot, it's just that the other Ninjas I like more.

7:Sora loved her story in season 1 and I’m so happy her parents weren’t redeemed and her relationship with Arin and Ryue is great.

5Jay after season 10 he became annoying his voice his jokes.
4:Kai I relate to Kai I was hot headed and rushed into things when I was a kid I also really like his relationship with Wyldfyre how he is really seeing himself in her and I hope to see more of them in season 2.
3:Cole: I like how he takes up the leader role when Wu and Lloyd aren’t around I love his RX power and I just think his is a down to earth guy lol okay I will stop.
2:Lloyd I really love how he is finally getting into the master role and I just love his growth through the series.
1:Zane he is just my favorite I think his powers are amazing I love his voice and his sets of there was one ninja I could own all there sets it would be Zane.
