Pregnant and lactating cats need the high calorie kitten food. I rescue cats and now I have 5 who have all been spayed and neutered. She looks like a young cat most likely her first litter.

1:55 that "thing" she's doing is called kneading. It's generally a good sign that she trusts you and finds you comforting, the reason why they do this is because that's what kittens do to get milk from their mother

My dad used to hate cats and love dogs, we had to get rid of the dog because it attacked me and now he and the cat are inseparable

I'm hella allergic to cats. My throat sometimes clogs up, but only when I stick my face in their fur. I can do cuddles and pets as long as I wash my hands afterwards. If I don't wash my hands my eyes swell and become red and itchy, my nose turns into a faucet, and my lips get itchy. Kitty litter worsens my asthma, too. I have 2 cats. Allergies can't stop me!
Not to mention there are cats that are hypoallergenic

He said “separate but equal” but he can’t keep that cat in the room forever and if Daniel is allergic to cats then that’s not fair of Joey to just decide to keep this cat without talking to Daniel. After she has her kittens and he’s got something to make more videos about I’m sure he’ll find another home for the momma too. Just like he did shadow, what’s best for the animal is what’s always what should be on an animal owners mind.
i think he said that he was fostering her for now in the last video bc the animals taken to the shelters are getting euthanized and he has the space, ability and time to care for her right now
That motion she does with her paws, the “scratching” motion is something cats do called kneading. It’s a comfort thing they do on soft materials. It starts when their kittens when feeding on mum to produce milk but often kittens continue doing the motion when there adults. I find it really cute when my cat does this. It's adorable when my cat does that because she's the mother of most of my cats. So it's cute when she kneads as she's the mom.

okay so i have had cats for my whole life and a tip for the food is to give her a bit of wet food in the morning and in the night and always let her be able to have some dry food through out the day! Always let her be able to have some fresh water with the dry food! like this so he notices!!

Solarflower my cat is really picky and we buy this wet food that is almost like a jelly meat and we feed her normally about 2 spoons in the morning and another 2 spoons in the evening. Some cats could be different and you might think that’s not a lot but she doesn’t even eat all of it and likes to come back throughout the day and eat the rest but she still doesn’t eat all of it. If your cat eats it all make sure she has some dry food as well because they can’t tell you how hungry they are especially if your cat is an outdoors cat!

Maybe only feed her wet food if that is all she eats. Wet food is so beneficial for cats because it contains liquid which makes a cats coat healthy and softer. It can also be helpful with the amount of liquid she consumes, my cats don't drink a lot of water so I stick with wet food to ensure that they stay hydrated. Also with her being pregnant having her staying hydrated with be good for the kittens, a healthy mama means healthy babies 💜
Yes it’s extremely important (especially for outdoor cats) to stay hydrated. Outdoor cats get most of their water from the prey they kill/eat. My cat died this winter (we just moved and it was his first winter in the snow) because he was dehydrated and couldn’t find prey. He was all happy on Christmas playing in all the boxes and things. And the next day he couldn’t move. He died on New Year’s Eve which was my b-day! Sorry 😅

but i have had 8 cats in my life and im 13 and MOST not all but most dry cat food is better for cats than wet cat food but if the cat is refusing to eat dry than give it wet and maybe a little dry idk (this was not to be mean just trying to be helpfull)

Definitely start feeding her kitten food! Kitten food has the extra fat she’ll need to support herself and kittens otherwise she’ll get very skinny and weak (having had litters myself). She could be fussy about the biscuits getting soggy when you mix so I would go with what you were thinking and offer them both but in separate bowls. Also some specific cat milk also helps keep her nice and plump and fat for when she starts nursing her babies! But must be for cats not alternative or cows milk...I’m sure you already know all this or won’t see this comment but it might help someone who knows? Stay safe everyone! 💕

It’s actually a sign of trust, but if a cat stares at you with open eyes it is alert and doesn’t trust you. You can search this up if you want proof, as it’s true.

Owning a lot of cats in my life, try to steer a bit away from heavy amounts of gravy/juice in the wet food. Some cats will eat/lick up all of that leaving the chunks behind. Also try a variety of fish/beef/chicken/or other meats. Cats get very picky over time and can get bored being fed the same food every single day. Just watch and see what she likes. You're doing great so far. She seems really happy with you two. Congratulations!!
*le sigh* my lovely 14 year old bermese (i think she is a runt of her litter) is a huge lover of gravy juice in the wet food and steer clear of the meat, but every now again she does eat the meat but not entirely...two main 'loafy with jelly' type of food she'll eat is beef and lamb but occasional chicken, hates hates seafood. three different type of casserole/gravy food she likes chicken livers and hearts, chicken and beef... and some occasional dry treats, wont eat dry food... treats yes.oh loves dog dry food that she sometimes get it whenever mum feeds molly (cocker spaniel) during her dinner... likes freezed dried chicken hearts that i buy from online (only place you can get it and its expensive) that i cut up into pieces... but in the last few years (3 at the most) she had been on and off sick vomiting and not eating for days to where she is losing weight (she was already skinny ) there were times she looks like a skelton. which is scary. went to two different vets and they cannot figure out whats wrong with her and still dont know. but im going to keep on giving her what she wants cos i want her to keep going... so far she managed get bit of weight back but still vomit every now again... (like today) I did every thing i can think of, mediecnes (i dont think that is helping her much other than pain relief) i keep her food elevated... that helps... so im taking as day at a time with her... *right now she is sleeping while im writing this lol for a second i thought she was having seizure but she is actually dreaming...gosh she does gives me heart attack sometimes*

erin kemble Wait that sounds like allergies a cat on yt had this. Basically she was allergic to a bunch of stuff and she kept vomiting cause of the allergies and they couldn’t find a food she wasn’t allergic to. So they had to work out what she was least allergic to so she could gain weight ( she was ultra skinny as well like your cat ) the cat still was sick sometimes but she still lived a happy healthy life. Ik youtube is not always reliable but isn’t it worth a shot to ask your vet if that could be a possibility?

kitten lady only fosters young, vulnerable kittens. Since the mom cat is there, they won’t need to know her tricks. The mom takes care of the babies
@@katatory It doesn't hurt to at least know the knowledge just in the case the mama doesn't know what to do (which can happen). Also if mama is playing favorites and one kitten may be left behind, they would know different ways to feed that kitten so it can catch up.

I haven't had a cat in almost 10 years but when you focused the camera on her eating I smelled cat food. That scent never leaves you

Cats are generally picky with what they eat, everything needs to be introduced slowly. Dry food does contain the other half of nutrition that they need. Soooo just add 2/3 wet 1/3 dry so she can get used too the new texture and taste. Eventually she will eat them together but may enjoy it better if it is separated, if she’s anything like mine lol.

Dry food is actually terrible for cats' health and can cause many diseases. Check Dr. Lisa Pierson's catinfo.org for info about cat nutrition. Canned food is closest to their natural diet, especially since cats rarely drink water in the wild and "pull" water from their prey.

Joey when she is kneading soft things its reminding her of her mom's soft fur and the kneading is her remembering her mom's milk. It's a super sweet moment and that's why they usually purr ❤❤
Yeah, i remembered that too. It's when they were little & they were drinking/eating their mum's milk, then they were kneading their mum to get the milk out. And they just kept doing it until they grew up, so now it's a sign of affection😄😺
I'd suggest have one bowl for wet food and one for dry food. Cats don't typically like mixed foods, but of course there are exceptions. Some cats love mixed foods.
The wet food is great to keep them hydrated, some cats get easily dehydrated.
Dry food is great for their teeth, it helps keep them in tip top shape.
Maybe give 1/4th of a can of wet twice a day, and leave 1/4th of a cup of dry food out. Idk about the actual servings; it's been too long since I worked with vets or experts in the field. You can still get what I'm saying though, divide the total amount of food she gets into threes, 2 of those will be wet food fed (one in morning, one at night), and the third will be dry food so she can graze.

A cute whimsical name would be Aurora, like the northern lights and after the Disney princess because she is a gorgeous princess. Other names that could work could be Nova, Ebony, Connie (like constilation because she is like the night sky) or Raven.

For starters, she needs to see a vet and they can recommendthe proper diet for her. In the mean time, feed her kitten food until she's done nursing. She will need the extra calories, because the kittens will take all of them.

So right! Ppl help like Emily's message so joey notices it!!!!! Cats dont eat there dry and wet food together and she should be eating lots of wet kitten food! And i dont believe every vet is closed.... No way. Even in stay inside states like mine.

A lot of animals don’t like when wet and dry food mix. It’s like humans, we don’t like mixing our food either. For my cat, I give him one cat of wet food in the morning and dry food for the rest of the day
I just baught one of the small dog food bowl with the 2 bowls and put wet in 1 beol and dry in the other

I have three cats and do this to make sure that if someone eats all the wet food they have more available. Cats are not like dogs, they can have food available and won’t typically over eat.

Wet food is great for cats because they are notorious for not drinking enough water, it's a great way to keep them hydrated :) I'd personally do dry and not wet everyday, but every cat is different!
In the south we call the kneading “makin’ biscuits.”
