I love VMP and how you can join for just a month I've gotten alot of great releases from them Fiona Apple 1st album OOTSA songs for deaf 1st Doors album an a few more an the detail in packaging an pressing is top notch excited they are opening theri own plant I didn't know about that. They could now give MOFI some competition
I like your style TJR and I always watch your channel, as a 66 yr young classic lover of all great classic rock and just by watching this unboxing I've been inspired to purchase this thin Lizzy album and I just found out today that the Beatles are reissuing " Revolver" in the deluxe box set version! It's a good time to be a classic rock lover and I also just read that " Blondies also reissuing a huge box set! Keep up the great work brother!
Jailbreak is a great album! Some others I would recommend are Johnny The Fox, Black Rose and Renegade which isn't regarded as a classic but I love it. Their live album Live And Dangerous is a fabulous document of Thin Lizzy live in 76/77!
The U.K. cover has three guys on the monitor but when opening up the cover you see the whole artwork reminds me of Destroyer I think the boys behind Destroyer got that idea for that cover or maybe it was the other way around .
Welcome to Thin Lizzy-ville TJR =) Thin Lizzy was a varied band. Perhaps not in the extreme way of Queen or experimental like King Crimson but listening to this record and all of them. There quite many touches and details that to me make them more than just any standard rock band. I love 'em. They have a new release out with an old concert from Sydney back in 1978 along with a documentary about Phil Lynott along with a DVD on the performance. Definitely more for the diehard-fan / collector than a new casual fan but maybe someone will check it out! Have a great weekend!
For me, the twin guitars of Scott and Brian delivered "the" definitive twin guitar sound of Thin Lizzy (directly descended from the Allmans and Wishbone Ash .... then copied by Iron Maiden et al) ... Brian Robertson brought a special something that really clicked with Scott ... yes, Brian could be soetimes a wee bit unpredictable, but when they clicked ... especially live ... they made a joyous noise .... Cowboy Song and Emerald, live, were sensational ... set highlights .... nice video ... CMcG, Aberdeen, Scotland
Do you have a particular phono pre amp that you would suggest? I was thinking about getting a "Cambridge Audio Alva Solo" I have a Pioneer Elite with a built in phono, but its not at good.. I have to turn the tuner up to 88% percent its volume to achieve a decent sound. I am using a Stanton T-92 turntable with WHLB Shure cart and N-WHLB stylus. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Great review! The packaging is definitely better than the original l had in the 70s. VMP always does a supreme job.
I have this LP in my collection from, what, I guess, 40 yrs ago. :-) One of my fav bands!!!!!!! RIP Phil.
