Formed in Dublin, 1969; Thin Lizzy are heralded as one of the finest hard rock bands to ever grace stages around the word. Lead by lead bassist and vocalist Phil Lynott and famed for their incendiary live shows; Thin Lizzy are responsible for hits such as 'Whiskey in the Jar', 'The Boys are Back in Town', 'Jailbreak', 'Dancing in the Moonlight' and 'Cowboy Song'.

That solo in hero...one of my favourite solos of all time.
I remember first hearing Thin Lizzy in 1973 with "The Rocker" on a Beaufort SC rock radio station. It was something like I never heard. I later bought the LP at Peaches record store in Atlanta GA. Fifty years later, people have finally caught up to them.
Thin lizzy irish legends
God bless ❤philo
Great sit down on this video. Cool to hear about this album from those that were there. As always, thank you Lizzy, for everything
The best band ☘️🎸🥁🖤
Phil and Lizzy are among my favorites. A poet great musician and frontman.... awaiting for Mr.Postmans delivery. Thank you for this release. The Rock Legends box set is in a class of its own. Keep them coming. Thank you to record company to Lynott Estate and all responsible for this exquisite curation. A big fan from Canada.
Oh my God, I would've loved to have been there with all these wonderful people! I would have asked about Black Boys on the Corner, one of my favorite Thin Lizzy songs, to see if anyone knows what motivated it, anything about, really. I wouldn't say anything to ever disparage Whiskey in the Jar, but I know Phil meant Black Boys on the Corner to have been the A-side of the single. Obviously "Boys" was very important to him.
Thank You to all the people that made this boxset possible. Greetings from Brazil!
They were not a British band they were Irish, began in Dublin.
In fact the name of the album was based on JM Synge’s play “the playboy of the western world” which was set in a pub in county Mayo, cant get any more Irish than that.
LOVE THIS ALBUM!!! While I am glad Lizzy is enjoying a sort of renaissance in the public's ear so to speak, I do hope that the many people discovering them, or even "running back" to them, make it a point to REALLY listen to those albums before, and AFTER, Vagabonds of the Western World. So many songs on this and others that deserve more airplay.
Post Script......I do hope that by pointing these things out, I am turning many young people on to this band and it's members, be it before or after Phillip's untimely death.
I know it's sort of working. I was on facebook the other week, and an acquaintance of mine sent me a picture of their daughter's jacket and backpack. Two great places to put Thin Lizzy buttons and pins on. AND she actually listens to the band. Her favorite is "Romeo and the Lonely Girl", followed sometimes by "Waiting for an Alibi". She has damn good taste, even for a 4th grader. I sent her a copy of Nightlife and Vagabonds on vinyl for Christmas . Also, seeing a few smaller local punk rock shows, I am noticing a LOT more kids wearing Lizzy tshirts. I ask them if they can tell me what song is their favorite, and to my surprise, at least 7 out of 10 tell me a song that ISN'T on Jailbreak. That is definitely what is up! There IS hope for the youth, after all.
God Bless the lot of you. So happy to have been able to discover Thin Lizzy, and to help spread the word of their awesomeness , even if the band is not getting the recognition it most definitely deserves. But don't despair! They ,most definitely will be heralded as one of Rock'/Metal'/Punk's greatest pioneers. CHEERS!
The art of the creative mind is timeless.
Thank you.

Thin Lizzy were Irish❤
Lizzy, one of the great "British" hard rock bands? I think not. irish, absolutely Irish. Phil wrote and sang about Dublin, Eire, Emerald, The Black Rose, Hugh O'Neill, Cucullan
Irish 🇮🇪💚🤍🧡
Love this album but then again I am a vagabond... Do dye...
