I have the 21 with SST40 and smooth reflector and that combo works well enough. I bought some 3350mah 20650 batteries for cheap a few years ago that I think were intended for drones and they fit very well in the flashlights, not a 21700 but they don't rattle, the button and tail spring take up the missing 5mm just fine. Not many flashlights come with XHP 35, one of my favorites, which wasn't a power hog unless you were overdriving it. 99% of the time, the flashlight I reach for is going to have the XML2 U2 in it, but I like having different lights around, collecting lights are my most useful hobby.
The distance to that treeline behind the large bush is probably the extent of the usefulness of the SST40. You can really tell this by the light reflecting off the whiter tree trunks of that back treeline. The SFT40 still has good clarity to the tree trunks with its spot, but the SST40 starts to meld away and soften. What is the distance to that bush? Whatever that is, anything closer than that and the SST40 is definitely much more useful for.
Nice video thanks. Do you remember what temp gun you use in this video? I know weird question, but I like how it saves the highest temperature. Will come in handy when checking motor temps on my RC trucks.
