  • I attended the Southern California Pomona car and truck swap meet event and it was amazing even though rain had slowed things down a bit. I toured the vintage car and truck area . The asking prices seemed very high to me on many of the Chevrolet, Ford vehicles found here. I enjoyed looking at all the old Volkswagens, being that I used to be at air cooled engine specialist.

This would be the perfect event to take the cab over truck to. My favorite truck there was the Chevy C20 truck! This was really a fun video to watch, thanks for putting this together and taking us on a virtual tour of the car show/swap meet.

Thank you! I also like the C-20 trucks. Yes my cabover would be fun to take someday with some gas pumps tied upright in the back bed.

When I was younger. There was a beetle in every back lane waiting to be done up. Even I had one in the building for 20 years. But you just don't see them any more around are way. Even the new shape are getting far between

I still see many on the streets out here in California but definitely not as many as in the past. Thank you for watching and commenting. Rob

My son said not interested unless he shows a bunch of VW bugs. So I passed forward to the point where you start with the bugs and he just lit up. He knew what years they were by looking at them. He would like to build a Subaru power bug. We both say thank you. He went back and watch the rest of the video and he like your signs.

I am glad he took the time to watch it. I also thought the price on the Subaru powered bug was reasonable considering all the effort that went into building it. Tell him I still have some signs left over to sell in case the two of you decide to decorate your workshop walls haha

I even get to be the first one to comment! This is car old saying thank you for the shout-out. A millisecond before you said anyting I was thinking me and my son's going to love seeing this. Then you gave the shout out. As far as the VW except for that one for $38,000. The rest of them are quite reasonable in today's market. The Subaru conversion for sale around 10K is a no-brainer! If you're into that. Now I'm trying to wrap my head around this VW thing still. As you know it's my son's favorite kind of car and that's cool. If it wasn't for transportation cost even before the fuel went up. VW bugs have been selling for far less in California historically what they had been selling for. The pickup even a $18,000 is still a lot of meat on the bone so what I'm saying is that they seem to be bringing more money throughout the middle section of the country then they are. As far as price on the square bodies I don't get it. But it's just simply their turn and if people really want to squarebody I was saying 10 years maybe less the price should level off again. They may not come down too much with inflation, they will just seem more friendly priced. You just kept teasing me with that what I believe is a 62 coupe that was missing its door kept wanting to see what the price was on it. Well at least you left your B-A gas pumps on the trailer. Makes it easier to transport. Also with them strapped down there probably won't fall over. McPherson college?? I was just wondering. I know this fella who bought an elementary school to stories VW collection in. Traditional old style School building from the 60s long and flat. Maybe I should go by and see if he let me take some video. He has one that's all black and her we would go run in the corner and hide from this one! I've never seen a Volkswagen bug look so mean and menacing as this black one. He'll do 200 mi an hour if you keep it on the ground he says. Without giving too much away judging by his B&w mechanical skills, I would tend to believe him. It's all VW as well as VW aftermarket parts. Thanks for the shout-out my kid to get a kick out of it. He has a little zoot horn that sticks out the back for the exhaust. It comes out under the bumper and sticks up. Otherwise his car looks bone stock. He's still in the market for another one. You showed a nice selection of material from different vehicles. The Hudson pickup reminds me of a El Camino or a ranchero. It's just too pretty and stylist to be a truck. By the way the one GMC for $14,000 I think that my cousin would flip. She's a second cousin and she's more like a niece with the differences in age. Her four-wheel drive looks pretty much like that one. She's turned down offers of $10,000 for it but she probably don't have more than 4,000 in it. That's including whatever mechanical updates and repairs she is done to it. You can still find those vehicles like that around the Midwest. Looking right place they won't be full of rust either. I couldn't help but notice that interstate 70 sign. I'm sure it's a reproduction.;-) that's supposed to be a winking emoji. Well I enjoyed you early show and we'll see if I'm still the first one post a comment and after this book of a comment.

I was shocked by the price of the square bodies. The VW prices seemed reasonable to me compared to some of the American Iron asking prices. I attended college in Santa Barbara. The shoutout was fun because I knew you wouldn’t miss it. You never skip ahead on my videos like others tend to do. Are you talking about a VW collection sitting in a old school building? Like in the gymnasium? If that’s the case I alike to see a video of that! I missed out on getting into to that private tow yard collection of 50s vehicles that were all to be sold. I was not aggressive enough I guess. When I called several times the lady told me because of the mud and rain no one else can come in to buy. I finally drove out of my way into the mountains after my show last weekend pulling a heavy trailer and it was again closed. A friend of mine who gave me the lead told me that a bunch of aggressive collectors dragged out all the good two door desirable cars . He was there dragging out heavy trucks and a train engine apparently with a friend last Saturday. I stopped by Sunday afternoon and it started to snow. It was a waste of fuel and my time unfortunately. The life of a UA-camr I guess.

Love the red 40 Ford. Not a fan of the looks of the LS engines. A dual quad 401 Nailhead would look so much better in the Stude PU.

I agree the LS is just to modern looking for that era of vehicle. Thanks for watching and commenting. Rob
