    I think you do so well with most of them, most of the time, because you're calm, quiet, patient, & good with them.

      Since they are so small he will spray the substrate every day and they will drink out of that.

    Why such a small inclosure? Is it for comfort or easier cleaning?

    • @ExoticsLair
      @ExoticsLair  6 років тому +16

      Tarantulas don't move around much.
      They are ambush predators (wait for prey to cross them).
      They also feel secure in tight spaces.
      Open areas make them feel vulnerable.
      Also, a smaller enclosure makes it much easier for them to find/catch their food :D

    Why are your T. gigas's so thin? Are they just like that?

    • @ExoticsLair
      @ExoticsLair  7 років тому +1

      Yeah they're like that. I think they fatten up as they get older - I'm not too sure.
      They do have great feeding responses, though.

    • @janedoex8345

      maybe they are this way to blend in their surroundings and hide easier in tree holes or cracks ? They often sit in a corner with their legs close together if I remember right....i think they look cool because of the slender abdomen and those long legs.
