Mayhem in Pork Alley: The Fugitive Korean Octopus 🇰🇷

- ■ Seoul, South Korea: I am a huge fan of exotic, weird and strange culinary delights. On a day to day basis I eat the same stuff over and over again, but when in lands where you can eat something strange and unique, I am all for it.
One of the weirder meals I've come across here in Seoul is live Octopus. Obviously this was something I had to sample. But there's a lot of exotic dishes that doesn't come from the sea in this city.
Cow intestines and bull heart. Pork ear and calf rectums. This was the night where we truly amde an effort to sample it all!

👍🏼👌🏻
The entire video is filled with gold
FACTS!!!
I went to the pork alley restaurant last night. The lady was super excited to see herself on UA-cam. She said thank you to all 3 of u guys.
what a nice lady she is! she fed them like they were her kids haha
🎉🎉😊😊😊😊😊@user-xb2ih8xj5n
I’m looking to go here when I visit this year, where was it exactly. When I put the name in I still couldn’t find it, any tips ?
You guys honestly could have your own series just bar hopping and meeting interesting people in Korea. This is outstanding, relatable content. I did the same thing in Seoul in 2019 with friends and you guys really captured the spirit of the experience. Hope to see more of you all in the future.
The trio we never knew we needed! High energy, entertaining, leaves you wanting more! One of your best vlogs Harald ❤
The chemistry you guys have is amazing, like a Korean version of the hangover.
This video was amazing Harald, definitely in my top 3 that you've created. Great chemistry between you 3, and all hilarious. Andy and Jay are top blokes! Hope you can film with them again some time 👍
This is a million times better than any movie that came out in 2023 FACTS!!!!
So true...UA-camrs are taking the media Batton forwards for sure
anyone coming to this channel for the first time might think it was scripted, that's how good it was. spontaneous stuff, so many highlights. what a cast. pork innards lady, drunk patron, gay octopus chopper, and of course the 3-amigos. what's not to like
Long time viewer, doesn't post comments, but this video deserves it. Hope you guys have fun, and thanks for the fantastic vid. Hope we can see more colabs like this in the future. Guests was lit!
Damn this was a blast from the past for me, as a Finnish guy who lived here half a year, just amazing. I recommend Jeju islands if you go down the southern parts too 🍻

Thank you very very much for the donation @glyyz
1:14:24 kind of weird for foreigners but in Korea 30 mins before closing the place is normally the last order and staff starts starts to clean and prepare to close, so most costumers do not enter a restaurant/bar 30 mins before it closes to not bother the staff.
This video is a gem. Never thought I'd watch a one & half hour video on UA-cam but somehow I did & I'm thankful to you for posting this.
1.5 hrs is nothing. clearly you have a life
Please more videos together!! This was so much fun🎉
I’m still full from eating all that food!!
When an octopus is the second most touchy person in a room.
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
when an octopus is a person somehow....... and a cook is an octopus?
Please do more videos with those 2, hilarious! An instant classic!
Not with that Asian guy
@@emmalee1012 wdym he's great
The Korean guy's Funny 😊
I could watch 3 hours more of these 3. They are hilarious together
Today i am all alone, no one here to celebrate new year. But i have a bottle of Rum and seeing you guys having fun and drinking something makes me feel a part of it, prost from germany and a happy new year to all of you, specially those who are alone today 🎉❤🇩🇪 🙂
❤ 🇩🇪 from 🌴
wishing you the best!
Drink less and stay in touch with more people
@@andreselektro 🤦♂️
I love ALL of your videos but this one was HILARIOUS!! This was the best way to close out 2023!! Happy new year!
Hands down one of my favorite episodes ever, how I wish I was there hanging with those guys. Whenever I ran out of these I repeat some of them while we get new ones, so DEFINITELY going back to this one!
As an Asian American and a big fan of your videos, I have to say this upload was indeed lit AF. more uploads like this one harald!
This is a must see video for anyone. Andy, the American, who pretends to be Korean, the pork place with the lady was fantastic, and the octopus guy who’s very hands on lol
Merci merci harald
The octopus cook really drinks a lot!
@@haewymetal technically he's not american Korean as he's not part native american ^^ these days america is a mix of everything BUT the native people, it's a sad story tbh.
@@NamChin846if he's born in the States to Korean parents he's American, Korean American if he likes.
@@buckodonnghaile4309 no he's a Korean living in America. an american citizen, but still a Korean. if I move to Sweden I don't become Swedish lol.
Harald, next time I expect you to take down the whole octopus.
Thanks for keeping us company for yet another year Harald, hoping you'll be keeping us company for more! Here's to a happy new year 🍺
One of my favorite videos of yours, ever. That was so much fun! More content with my fellow Americans, please 😊
Harold you are by far my favorite content creator on UA-cam. I appreciate the hard work and have seen the development over the years. Happy traveling and a gongo on me.
1hr 28! Loving it. Better than most movies! Perfect for New Year's Eve. Happy new year Haraldo and rest you you too!😊🎉
Dude Andy is hilarious 😂 i like his energy.. Jays a cool cat too.
Im going to be honest i never really considered South Korea as a place id want to go to specifically as im not a big nightlife guy and enjoy nature more than anything. But im a huge foodie and the food and city looks really amazing. The Korean people seem super friendly and laidback.
I can see why South Korea is so loved by westerners. I see its true Koreans sure can drink !
Cap
South Korea was never really high on my bucket list destinations either but I decided to tag along with my mum (who is a big SK fan) last October as a last minute spontaneous decision and went without expectations or any knowledge of the country and it was amazing! I definitely recommend it! The food is delicious too.. Korean BBQ is to die for!
This really encapsulated the experience of seoul when 3 random dudes get together drink, eat and laugh cause absolute carnage.. I love it!! People need more experiences like this in life this brought back fond memories for me being in seoul and my times traveling Its what life's all about good times and great memories. Happy new year Guys!!
Good to see the youtube legends together hanging out. Harald is such a nice guy for going back to have a soju to that nice lady. Turely Kind hearted person.
What a great video, the chemistry is incredible. I cant express how much fun this was to watch.
there was no chemistry even the oportuinty to talk to the man in the restaurant was blantenly missed why didnt you invite him to the table and ask him about life in korea? u were just just sitting there not interacting with him at all that so called korean american didnt speak a word of korean next time better use google ai to translate this was a farce and then the animal cruelty he pushed balder to do just discusting will he bring him to a dog eating restaurant next and give a puppy the same treatment as this octopus??
Im from Finland and we are a bit alcoholists here so i really liked this😂 Exploring, goofing off, eating food, drinkinng and just having an awesome time!! Thank you Harald!!😄
I have seen you on the ferry to Tallinn to fill up the fridge, bro.
I'm half Finnish, though I don't speak the language, but I know that Finns are not alcoholics. The average consumption of alcohol is below the EU average, you can check this online if you like. Finnish "alcoholism" is more of an urban legend. In fact, consumption has decreased considerably year after year, and best of all, young people, teens if you like, are not interested in drinking these days. More alcohol is consumed in such countries as France, Germany, England, Poland, Denmark... and perhaps even Norway. You shouldn't share false information about your own people. Anyways, Happy New Year to you - ¡Feliz Año Nuevo a ti y a todos los finlandeses! Te amo Finlandia! 💜🇫🇮
This was a riot!! The supporting cast were awesome! I feel like I've just spent an hour in Seoul

The best collab ever😂 funny and entertaining.. I hope more content from this trio..I watched the video without skipping anything.. I like how authentic Andy's jokes are🤣
Def one of your best videos ever with those two guys. Do more with them please!
these 2 were boring as hell what did you like about them they hardly interacted with any thing
@michelprins I agree. The "Korean American" was just annoying.
Harold, this is probably one of my top 3 favorite of all your videos. Very light hearted and entertaining. Happy New Year! Keep them coming.
You 3 guys are a blast… you should do more videos eating crazy stuff. 😂
Third video in Korea and it just keeps getting better and better. Jay and Cooksux are really funny guys! Amazing as always Harald👍🏼
The blue soju is also my favorite! Anytime you’re at a Korean spot and want it. They asked for “it’s back soju” it was the original design way back in the day and the design came back around 2020. Hence the name “it’s back”
Now THIS was a fun video. The three of you have great chemistry, and all the locals you interacted with were so pleasant.
This is one of the best videos. You really need need Andy and Jay as your travel companion in more extreme places. Would be great and funny content. Especially Cook, funniest guy on Twitch. Also collab with EXBC, they live in Busan.
Yes, the Demon of Busan, Heosu and Esco too !
EXBC are annoying as fuck, please stay away Harald.
I really love it when there are guests on the channel. These 2 Maniacs were definitely entertaining.
Subscribers approve of Andy & Jay!
These group videos are amazing. So much going on and so much entertainment haha.
this korea series is absolutely amazing!
WE NEED MORE VLOGS WITH THESE TWO SOO MUCH FUN!! U should’ve taken the drunk guy with u
By far the Best 90 minutes of entertainment I've seen in a long time
Man I was surprised and extremely happy to see Cook running up to you guys! I watch him on Twitch. He's a funny dude!
This is now one of my favorite video of yours… you 3 are great together… so much to see, experience, learn and lots of fun! Love you guys ❤
This video felt like those Hangover movies. Absolutely made my last evening of 2023.
Best youtube channel period! Thanks for the videos Northman!
Cheers for sticking around as a subscriber of 6 years 👏🏻
Love the energy and interaction between you 3 charactors and the locals. Happy New Year Harald
Wow, Seoul south Korea is such a cool place ! Fantastic, you 3 Guys bring the best of exciting culinary food adventure, i like the rustic, fancy hipe culture in the various food "temples" an stalls in the smal side streets, new types of mouth watering dishes 😋awesome series about a country unknown to me. That was a blast to watch your foodtour✌🥂Cheers !
The video quality has gone up soo much!! The night shots are sooo crisp I love it!
What he is using?
Even after drinking as much Soju as you consumed, I don't think I could try live octopus. You're a very daring man. This has been a very entertaining episode .
They didn't try live octopus though?

The Trio We Didn't Know We Needed!!! Great Vlog NorthMan 🤘🏻
It is my honorto meet you❤🥰
Man you guys all compliment each other really well, Nick approves!
That asian gy is pretty cool. This has to be one of the best videos in the channel, its up there with the india videos
Best video and cast of 2023!
This is a great video with the three of you! Of course Harald gets a Korean/American as a guide and he doesn’t really speak Korean!!
He's not a guide 🤣 Just a cool guy who happens to be in Seoul at the moment
Loving this series Harald. Happy New Year from Wales! 🏴
If you enjoyed your time with these dudes, I enjoyed the collab and apparently a lot of others did as well.
I'd like to see you all work together again in the future homie.
Never posted before, but this video was really awesome to watch, really actually felt immersed in the experience and fun you guys had! If that’s the new DJI osmo pocket 3, looks really nice!
1:35 He said “cross the road, and then there.”
2:55 Kinda hard to explain.. there are two types of ‘So-Ju’ one is the ‘real’ one(one with traditional way of making, Check ‘Andong Soju’), the other is the low-end, cheapy, ‘Drink to be Drunk’ kind of So-Ju. Koreans usually drink the latter, because it’s cheaper and let them easy to get drunk.😅
6:35 ‘Sip-won Bbang’ relatively in fashion recently. Sip-won means 10won, about 0.1 cent.
7:00 The whole street they’re walking, ‘Ikseon-dong’ alley, google ‘Jongro alleys’ if you’re interested.
9:15 ‘Ga-Ma-Sot’, traditional form of pot, Koreans used it making steamed rice, meaty broth, stir fry, deep fry, etc. Kinda outdated nowadays, We use pressure rice cooker for rice, and use western pots and pans for other cuisine.
9:29 Actually it’s not a group garbage spot,😂 in case of paper sort of things-boxs, cups, plate, etc-, you can throw it some place looks similiar on the video, then someone would collect and sell them to the recycling center. Try Rycling system in Korea on UA-cam.
10:45 the malts are from demmark, but made into Korean style lager, bland and strongly carbonated. hard to find the taste of malts and hops
12:50 The guy on the wall, passed away last year, was the most famous comedian of Korea, enlisted on Guinness book, for the oldest TV show host in his age 95. The alley was his Go-to alley.
18:52 Apparantly he’s heavily drunk and the lady is not happy with that. The one with the salt is Pork liver.
26:30 Pretty accurat guess😂, I guess he’s maybe a homeless or alcoholic, there are bunch of those two types of seniors around Jongro alleys, better watch out, sometimes they get hostile or nasty😮
31:10 the guy is a literally the alcohol itself, even if he talked with fluent english, you would never understand him, because even I can’t understand what he’s saying.
34:30 They advertise their candy as a ‘traditional’ thing, however, it’s a total bullshit. I guess the things are originally from Turkiye.
37:10 The street, ‘In-sa dong’ famous for the souvenir shops, and galleries have good old painting and antiques, but should be careful of rip-off and fakes.
37:40 ‘Han-Ok’ means ‘Korean style house’ ‘Han’ means Korean nation, ‘Ok’ means a legit house.
41:00 Korean language, (NOT the Korean alphabet) has very much in common with Chinese language. Koreans used to use Chinese characters for about 1500 years before one King thought like ‘Let’s make another alpahbet which fits more than Chinese character to our language.’ He really did it, and after, it called ‘Han-Geul’ the Korean alphabet.
46:50 even some Koreans hesitate to taste it because it is gross😂and We hardly ever eat it as a whole since there’s a choking hazard.
53:35 He said ‘you keep spill Soju here, just have it there’(means you don’t have to give Soju to me)
54:13 He said ‘Korean men can’t get beard this long and fluffy.’ 54:17 someone said ‘even if I grow it, I couldn’t make it, right?’ the master replied ‘Of course not, Look, this guy’s is natural and smoothe compare to yours
56:25 Of course he was joking😂😂 As Korean society is very conservative especially toward gays, those guys never express it out. If some men, apparantly older than you, called you ’Oppa’ in public with laughter, He is definitely joking.
56:40 Although it is not common, but It is not that strange to rub your face to friend’s cheek while you are heavily drunk, so ‘the Cheek to Cheek’ is 100% straight action in Korea. But be careful, only with Alcohol.
BTW, Happy New Year🎉🎉
One of the best series I've seen so far! I'm always so happy to see you being in Korea and I hope you come back during summer season :) I'm sure the feedback talks for itself, will we see a Korea spring/summer 2024 series? 😃
Another dynamic video, the 3 of you worked well together. The people are very polite and helpful, very intuitive about the people they are dealing with.
Looking forward to more videos. Happy holidays, cheers 🍻
This video is a whole vibe
Absolutely the best episode! This episode makes me homesick!
The 4K with the night walking scenes and the neon, steam, atmosphere, etc, is insane with that new camera Harold. 👍👍👍
Oh and Andys beanie.... that looks so vivid 👍🤣
Niiiice to see "Cooksux" and "JayStreazy" in the video :D
Probably the best vlog video I've watched this entire year. Hats off, great synergy between you guys :)
