If you've watched Xtra Xtra or their interviews, you know how many obstacles they've overcome to get where they are now. And you'll know that their love and respect for hip-hop and R&B comes from a real place. Hiphop is also about innovation and bringing different musical elements together. XG is blending hiphop and R&B with elements from K-pop, J-pop, electronic music, and creating their own genre. Especially for Asian Americans like me, we need girls like XG repping us in the hip-hop and R&B scene. Don't mind the haters. They're not even true hiphop heads or music lovers. XG, just keep going and keep on breaking down those barriers!
I love how they're keeping the outer space, alien spaceship vibe with the beeping in the melody and in the lyrics too. Also, their outfits?! Jurin's black and red hair, Maya's black lipstick, Cocona's green nails and Harvey's braids, they look so damn cool rocking dark colors.
