    Don't forget that the Russians have jagers.
    A lot of. In a division they can have 10 battalions of this infantry (4 in the infantry brigades, 6 in the jagers brigade)
    They have Stamina 4 like grenadiers and musketeers. Tough Fighters, Rifle Mixed Formation etc ...
    Most importantly - they do not incur any penalties when shooting. This is in the rules.

      @@NapoleonicWargaming I always have. I am looking forward to finally have my Prussian 1st Korps ready, with its russian allies intertwined. They will be a great force for the 1813 setting and will hopefully proofe formidable to our french players.
      And your videos are great entertainment while painting.

    Loving all your videos. My group is looking at getting into Napoleonics with Black Powder (we had a long, long discussion on what rules to use) so I'm finding all of your videos really great sources of information. Looking forward to more! We aren't quite sure what part of the period we're going to do as we have one person who wants to play Prussia and one who wants to play France. I'm most interested in Austria and France with Russia behind them and suggested that if our fourth person is interested in Prussia as well he can go with them and I can play France so we have 2 Prussian and 2 French and can play during one of the Prussian campaigns rather than approach it like 40k where you want diversity.

      If theres a large percentage liking Prussians, it recommend either 1806 or 1813-15 as they were when Prussia was involved. Of those 2, I'd recommend the later period for a number of reasons. 1. The minis are more easily available, being plastic. 2. Prussia and Austria were involved, sometimes in the same action against the French and 3. There are supplements already out for BP.
      Ultimately though I'd always recommend buying what you like, then forming a scenario around them when it's time to game!

    I think this series will be very useful. Plenty for veterans of Napoleonics to take on, but also it should help newcomers. Historical wargaming relies on new blood coming in to keep the gears oiled, and I agree that those coming from GW games may want to play in a particular style.

    Great detail. Maybe you could do a few videos on best units to build you Napoleonic armies.

    Once again I love your videos 👍
    If you have time I've got a quick question about standards. So I went over to GMB to take a look at Russian flags. It looks to me like you only get the standard for the first field battalion. Do you need to buy 2 identical sets to get the matching battle flags for the 2nd field battalion?

    • @NapoleonicWargaming
      @NapoleonicWargaming  4 роки тому +2

      Right at the bottom there's a button for 2nd battalions, with 2 of the coloured flags. They are s little more expensive at 4 quid and you have to specify what regiment you want.
      Tbh, it's a not a great website for navigating, and there are way too many without photos, but it's a one man operation so I don't want to be too harsh on him!

    Tim the video is excellent. As we are going to play more BP in club it helps me a lot. What I don't get from the video, what you mena that Russians will have more Artillery. Actualy I thing quite contrary. French can field 2 light artillery for 6 battalions as reserve + divisional artillery. They are cheaper, smaller, better commanded and are not subject of the stupid deployment rules. It means that for Russian three batteries they can field four or five Frenchy, has advantage of free deployment, better command and of initiative thanks to higher degree of maneuvrebility. Can you please elaborate?

    • @NapoleonicWargaming
      @NapoleonicWargaming  4 роки тому +1

      The Russian batteries are bigger though and less susceptible to counter battery fire

    I thought of Cossacks as Jager Light Skirmishers . No formation attack . Useful on retreat to harass opposition scouts while the main body retreated and to follow retreating Armies and harass the rearguard ( Independent orders anyone ? ) . But i like your thoughts . Find their Artillery unparked or buffer the ops cavalry charge while you take the wild card and throw your best as second wave , once the cossacks pull back
