Addressing the topic of the Olympics, cheerleading is a very, VERY American sport. Squash is actually quite a popular sport where I live and throughout Europe, however I only know one cheerleader. You cannot make an Olympic event with one country, and (no offense) Americans seem kind of oblivious to things like this outside of America.
This is true but also cheerleading is getting more popular around the world. I live in the UK and there are multiple cheerleading teams here one of the people I knew who moved here just for the summer was it cheerleader and she did cheer over here as well, and she wasn’t even American she was from Germany. It’s just cheerleading isn’t a very well-known or popular sport, but it’s still very much a sport that is played in other countries. It’s just not a big name one like it is in America.
I think the reason why cheer didn’t get on the Olympics was because most of the other countries don’t have cheer/ don’t do it. But I would absolutely love ❤️ to have cheer in the Olympics . Also does anyone have any tips for competitive cheer?❤
I only do one competition through my school’s cheer squad and I have only been in it one year but all I can say is you have to be ready for very long days practicing and to understand that listening and following along is the best thing you can do to succeed 😊
Cheer is a really important sport but when something goes into the Olympics, you have to look at the popularity worldwide and cheer is really only big in the US so I can understand why it’s at Olympics, but it should definitely get more attention as a professional sport
squash is one of the most popular/influential sports in other countries (Egypt, UK, India, Australia, New Zealand) and arguably the most physically strenuous sport ever when played at a professional level (highly strategic, burns about 900 calories an hour). cheerleading is only popular in the US… look into the sport before you make comments like this
honestly, i think all sports all valid but before insulting and putting down another sport just to bring light to your own, we should honor and respect all sports. squash is a wonderful sport and so is cheer. both deserve a spot in the olympics. however, next time, please don't make an ignorant mistake. thank you, have a wonderful day!
@@LuciaCisme i agree with u completely! i think both sports take so much effort to do but it was sorta rude of her to just say something ignorant and blunt like that
Yeah here in the UK while I think we do have cheer teams, it's not nearly to the same scale as it is in America - from my experience, none of the schools in my area offer it as an extracurricular - we mainly had netball and football (soccer in America - we don't have American football, the closest we have is rugby)
I can’t imagine how secondary schools could realistically handle the risk management required for cheer here in the UK. Double whammy of the inherent risk & potential consequences being high coupled with very few knowledgeable coaches or even experienced older students to help out, spot etc. That’s before you get to the very limited opportunities to compete in the sport without travel, likely international which gets expensive really quickly.
we all have to work to make cheer a safer environment for the next generation of athletes! if something is putting child athletes at risk of injury or abuse then say something. all it takes is enough good people to care and do something about it.
Sorry your comment on Squash is way off, its a very physically intense and mentally intense sport that takes a lot of skill! It's very popular too, whereas cheerleading is mostly only popular in The US... Not disagreeing that cheerleading should be in the olympics tho..
as I cheerleader, I think it’s totally not fair that it’s not in the Olympics. It’s a very hard skill takes a lot of practice as a flyer. I had to work for it, but it definitely pays off because now I’m so good at it. Love you so much.
it cannot be added to the olympics because america is one of the only countries whi takes cheer seriously. americans need to get their head around the fact that there are OTHER DANG COUNTRIES.
Squash is a realy fun and popular sport so I’m really happy for the people that play it can go to the Olympics. I hope that cheer becomes an Olympic sport though.
In gymnastics there is sadly way to much of SA and I do gymnastics so I’m always super alert but it’s sad people can’t just keep there hands to them self!
i feel like competitive cheer definitely should’ve beeen in the Olympics 😢 but i also feel like there is a difference between being a cheerleader and doing competitive cheer
I get squash but my whole family does squash it’s similar to racquetball and lots of people do it, I do feel like they should do dance or cheer because they do gymnastics 😅
Squash comment is a little tone deaf. Cheerleading has about 4 million people from a narrow selection of countries. Over 20 million squash players participate regularly world-wide in over 185 countries.
Yeah exactly, it would be great to have cheer in the Olympics but tbh I’ve only ever seen it done on like American TV shows, and it’s nowhere near as popular in the rest of the world atm
This is untrue cheerleading is getting more popular around the world. It’s not a big name sport like in America.
ya so i do not believe that cheerleading should be an olympic sport. there are barely any countries that do cheerleading but an actual sport like squash is shown in many countries. plus cheerleading is still in the debate about weather or not it should be a sport while other sports there is no question. i dont cheerlead and i dont believe it to be a sport but thats because i have never seen cheerleading up close. if someone could help me understand why cheerleading is a sport that would be very helpful. thanks and love your videos
you cant actually tell me that you believe that cheer should be in the Olympics, what a joke. Squash should 100% be in the Olympics as its and actual sport all around the world and has a ball and a racket like to many Olympics sports like tennis, ping pong and badminton. Cheer isn't even a proper sport that would even be considered for the Olympics...
Okay not tryna be mean big fan and i do think cheerleading should be in the olympics but i play sqaush so please don’t disrespect it is the healthiest sport in the world and is on of the hardest so sqaush deserves to be in the olymics😊
Yeah, but the olympics are mostly showing and bringing attention to lesser known sports, so putting cheer in would be somewhat the opposite of what their trying to do...
They’re many different sports that should definitely be in the Olympics like my kind of gymnastics trampoline and tumbling (also known as T&T) Trampoline is in the Olympics. But power tumbling and double is not.
As a cheerleader I have a member on my team and a friend who is on a team who both can do standing fulls so idk why Simone would say that gymnastics and cheerleading are equally challenging and both very difficult sports that take work ethic and time management!🩷
tons of my friends used to go to rockstar and i didnt hear about the SA allegations until one of my cheer friends told me. rockstar cheer made some of the best athletes and was a really expensive gym to cheer at, so it obviously came as a shock to me that there were SA’s happening. rockstar gym is now closed down and all coaches moved to TTE or tumble tech elite.
for the olympics thing, it is the same for synchronized ice skating. both are great team sports but sadly aren’t in the olympics even tho they deserve it.☹️
Hi I don't do cheer but I do dance and I know the feeling of something that we consider a sport but people say is not and will never be but I fight for both to tube a official sport dance and cheer
I’m not sure I understand why she’s putting on makeup during the video. If women are going to use makeup don’t they usually put it on BEFORE they do something publicly? Isn’t that what it’s meant for? Don’t you kind of lose the whole point if you’re in the process of applying it WHILE you’re recording the video? lmao Imagine if actors did this in movies too haha. “Tis’ nobler in the heart to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, than to…to…to…. JOHNNY!! WHERE’S MY CONCEALER???!”
as an competitive cheerleader, i remember watching world's 2016, it was actually so scary considering how hurt the cheerleaders could've gotten
The wildcats were so good! One of the best auditions

Its definitely the most popular in America but it’s definitely not the only place that cheer is popular.
Squash is cool in America too, just a little less common

I love your UA-cam videos. You inspired me to do cheerleading and I Love doing it now for people that say Cheer📣 isn't a sport it is
omg the cheer show too, this is like not even close to as bad as these but the one guy who got arrested and everyone loved him before. so crazy!
The disaster of World’s 2016…😧
The WORST competition in cheer history!! 🫢 #cheerleading #informative #funfacts
I love your videos they skay
It's just cuse people don't play or do cheer enough in other countries 😢but it's okay it's sad but okay

Ohhhh and I for got to put it's okay it's sad but it's okay
Can you do a tutorial for fulls please i’m trying to do it because i already learned my half and i can’t do it
One of my ex cheer coaches has been arrested twice for rape and is currently in jail.
The sad truth is that in both cheer and gymnastics there have been many cases of SA.😢 Those athletes deserved better.
I don’t do cheer but I still find your content very very interesting!! And I think that cheer should definitely be in the Olympics!!!
Worlds 2016 was the worst worlds I have ever competed at!3 girls on our team got hurt from falling in there tumbling passes!!
"What act could possibly be more impressive than that?"
Me: a kid who has a heart condition or some sort of illness.
Squash is a intense sport but I feel cheerleading should be in the Olympics
You’re telling me breakdancing is accepted, but not cheerleading like that’s crazy
Cheerleading isn’t an Olympic sport because not many countries aside from the U.S does it
A young lady I followed for yrs. Was picked to go worlds but COVID messed up everything
I'm glad that you're calling out the sexual abuse in the sport. Good job!
