I think Cities Skylines 1 really needs an office based content creator pack. The only good looking offices we have are from the actual DLC's and a very select few of the vanilla assets, and I think CS1 desperately needs an office content creator pack.
Maybe a general “central business district” building style that includes new offices, commercial and residential buildings to fill out diminishing density situations.
@@eriklakeland3857 Yeah that would be great, and I think doing something similar to industrial evolution with the offices getting taller after each level would be great as well. Low density low rise offices at level 1, medium density at level 2, and skyscrapers at level 3.
@@realitybreath4647 the console players sadly don't have workshop and plenty of people don't play with it so it would be a huge help to get those assets even as dlc's
The ore industry is really cool, I’m not sure if you intended it but it kinda makes it look like part of the harbor is under construction, I’m going to use that more in my cities for different areas!
With the port being built where you've built it, there's going to be a lot of traffic going over that bridge into downtown. In order to control the traffic flow and increase your money you might want to consider plonking tolls on either side of the bridge which you see on many rl bridges. People can either go the long way around or pay to access the bridge. If you're building an Airport there as well the tolls should give you a nice boost in revenue.
Rannoch is my favourite city after Palaven, then Thessia, Egg. I love how you build in vanilla, & the end of the video with that beautiful music, which gives me goosebumps.
I think you should add a connection to the rail bridge pointing in the other direction, cargo trains cant currently get to any of the stations on the other side of the bay from the port
Good episode, a very nice expansive port. The ore industry inclusion is good, especially the part where you made it look like a construction site. I included the offshore ore mining in my recent port build, only because I didn’t know where else to put it. If I was to make this more realistic, I would carve out some docks, and I would also remove much of the zoned industry and replace it with airport apron with loads of containers.
In my own experience, having two cargo rail harbours beside eachother connected through the same train track will lead to significant train traffic jam because one train will have to go through one of the harbours to get to the other. Both harbours should have a dedicated rail entry for each. I would recommend installing the rail cargo harbours noit beside each other but facing eachother on both sides of a small peninsula, both rail tracks being a fork or leading to two different places. The peninsula should also be wide enough to accomodate warehouses.
It's really feels like Rannoch has come into it's own these last couple of Episodes with the Downtown and Major Cargo Port. It's growing on me for sure, I don't know if it'll beat out Orchid Bay on my favorite build list but I am a sucker for Boreal builds.
11:33 I think it would be very hard there but a grade separated rail junction there could look awesome. It would also be good for capacity as the rail line is so close to the city it would warrant more frequent services
Haii Egg, absolutely love this series! I was just wondering if there is a reason why you have not used the ship building harbor thing? Have a nice day!
I know interchanges are not your thing Egg, but I can't help but want to make an extended trumpet interchange off the bridge, where the exit lane extends from the hill and loops left (instead of right), over the freeway, to meet up with the exit lane heading to the industrial area. Anyway, I love the prop work and details as usual. I still have lots to learn in how to do that well.
here in my town next to the port there are some office parks, it would be pretty cool if you imcorporated it to the building in the empty area, maybe wall to wall with repetition
That misalignment on the roundabout is driving me batty every time I see it. It'd be so easy to straighten the crooked road by moving the centrepoint back just one unit. If the diameter was shrunk as well the curving approach could be made gentler as well. PS: Some of the trees you placed along the roads turned intersections into blimd corners, which isn't a great thing for heavy industrial traffic...
Maybe a good idea to have the area behind the port on a slightly higher elevation for spectucular views from the CBD - i guess it will become more industry?
Have you considered adding Intersection Marking Tool to the mod list as a way to save on nodes since you can use IMT to place fences alongside roads and such?
I feel like I comment too much 🤭 .. I hope it isn't annoying. I just want to say you bring so much joy to my day on Monday. You're like the only big UA-camr still doing cs1 and I really appreciate that because I vibe with this game more than cs2 as of right now.
Still waiting for W&R: Soviet Republic... Don't worry if you can't play it yet, procrastination is no better, and I'm sure you will find a lot of experts' opinions under every video, just start it and please, do it with the realistic mode!
great episode as always, and i’m happy to have contributed to it with my music in today's timelapse! have a wonderful week everyone 🙏
Really nice tracks, thanks for sending them in mate, just my vibe 😁

Agreed, especially if us console players will probably never see a CS2 port. It would be nice if they continue to provide new DLCs and packs to us.
I don’t think it’s necessary seeing as how many good looking and detailed assets there are on the workshop.

OVERCHARGED EGG & FEWCANDY are the MOST underrated Channels on UA-cam!! Great Job as Always EGG!!
This is easily the best Cities 1 port I've seen! Nice one mate
"We shouldn't have a node issue with Rannoch..." famous last words right there
@@StarStuff. See you in 5 months when we hit the node count for the third time together
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Oh I'll be there! 😜

The skyline looks like Melbourne!
I concur as a melbournian 😂
It dsoes in a way m8.
Getting Newcastle vibes as well
Yeah, that's what I thought. The city centre looks like Melbourne, while the drive over the bridge looking at the city has Sydney vibes.

Hey, egg, you should add a toll into the port

Aw I was hoping for the rail connection warehouse at the steel plant, it's set up so perfectly for it

Industrial and infrastructure is your gift to CS. You are so good with it!! Enjoyed the episode today and I'm looking forward to more 🤩
The views at night are amazing! Loved this one so much.

You mean the shipyard? No particular reason, we can include it a bit further down the port :)
I'm laying ill in bed right now. But a video by you really cheers me up😊
I discovered egg a year or 2 ago when I was sick with covid. Quickly became my favorite UA-camr
Hope you feel better soon ❤

Love the addition of ore here. Nice industrial harbor build! 😊
More Rannoch! Beautiful build, and makes my day to watch and chill to.
Thanks bud :)
It could be neat to have a monorail loop connect the airport with a passenger harbor/ferry hub.
