One of my favourite ferries and still going strong after almost 40 years of service. She was very busy when I went over to Arran at Easter.

How these captains move these massive ships into tiny spaces is mind boggling! And the Isle of Aran, one of Calmac's 4 elderly ladies does herself proud and is still able to fit in wherever she is sent!

Absolutely a great deal of skill involved in it!

I take it the newer, bigger pier has been built in anticipation of the Glen Sannox entering service.

Was on the MV Isle of Cumbrae on her original Largs - Cumbrae Slip route 3 weeks ago covering the Loch Shira while she was having her overhaul for a few days until MV Catriona was available

Why can't Calmac adopt to ship-locking linkspans? The fifties wanted thier mooring lines back

It has an extended exhaust on the one side? (20:40)

Once Glen Sannox comes into service I can envisage Isle of Arran becoming second vessel on the Uig triangle.
