    Also in Thailand, there are private companies that you can do the test through they are way more lax and if you fail your test you just come in and do it again the next day(for as many times as you need to pass)

    I've transferred my license to chinese one from Italian. And translation doesn't need to be validate by the embassy..
    Here in Thailand I've to go to bkk for get a stamp so off course is not convenient for me in Pattaya and I'll take all the process to get the license from the beginning without conversion..I want next week and I'll make only for motorbike
    Fun fact : the tank question, similar or exactly the same, was also in my Chinese written test in 2008!!!
    That time they told me DON'T take the Italian one because you will not understand 😅😂. So I took the English. Looks like here is the same.
    Very nice video! Thank you.

    Was about to ask you in Vlog #44 ...but... you did that one! Thanks a lot, this will help me tremendously. I've decided not to renew my driver's license in my home country for complicated reasons thus doing the Thai tests as if I was a newbie (forget I've been driving for 29 years :)).
    Does that mean I need to pass TWO theoretical & practical exams (motorbike and car)? If you don't know, don't worry, I'll search it.
    Also @12:16: "... use the motorbike to avoid been shaking down by cops" Meaning you need to give your car DL to the renting company? You can't keep it instead? How about a photocopy? Sorry, maybe it's me being slow tonight and not getting the big picture here :-P

    • @livetravelasia
      @livetravelasia  5 років тому

      Well you’ll get two licenses one for car and motorcycle... not sure about having to take the written test twice as it’s identical. They do t have separate tests for car and motorcycle. The driving test is different however. Haven’t had any experiences w it but the office should take care of it if you go. My friend told me he only needed one certificate from embassy to get both but he already had a us drivers license

      The English version is translated by Google and some of the questions are problematic. I encountered one today and the options A and B are totally the same, so I didn’t know which to choose. Then the staff member told me the two options in Thai version were different but got lost in translation. Because of that I lost one point. Very ridiculous. And also came across one question asking what the car ABCD should do. But in the image, there were only กขคง. Luckily I can read those letters. Thailand is a joke. They don’t even bother to hire a proper translator for this. 😢
