‘Loving You’ from Passion

This one’s a bit of a hot mess…I attempted new camera angles and a new backing track system…each only HALF working. Regardless, I love this song! It’s so heart-wrenching and wonderfully haunting. ‘Loving You’ from Passion (written by Stephen Sondheim), tells the story of Fosca, a terminally-ill woman who falls in love with a soldier, who, after hearing about her unfortunate past, gets stationed away and pleads for her to “give [him] up”, but Fosca states that “loving [him] is not a choice” she can make, and she would gladly die for him. It’s a beautiful moment of tragic circumstance and, I suppose unrequited love?
