    Frey and Freya are Matter and Consciousness. Together they are the Supreme Mother ... Nerthus. She is All of Nature. They have 3 parts each, regarded as deities: Odin Thor Loki, and Eostre Frigga Hella. These deities go by various names throughout time and in different tribes. They represent Creation Sustainment and Destruction. Frey is the Supreme Consciousness of Creation Sustainment and Destruction, and Freya is the Matter of Creation Sustainment and Destruction. He is Father/Lord represented by the Sun, and She is Mother (Matter) represented by the Earth. I really hope people figure this out because it's very important.

    Human sacrifices?? In Sweden? :o Mindblowing. So the movie Midsommar is partially based on real stuff that used to happen back in the day?

    • @ThreeStarVagabond
      @ThreeStarVagabond  Рік тому +2

      Weeell, the movie is completely made up. But there's a kernel of truth in it, since we did have pretty nasty sacrifices back in the old days! But I don't think Midsummer has been a time for such sacrifices - they were only reserved for special blot rituals every eight years (some believe).

    This ritual is reminiscnet of a form of Hinduism that dates back to ancient times. It is still practiced today in parts of India. Ethnic Kashmiri Hindu Brahmins continue to organize an annual festival in honor of Goddess Sharika at her hilltop temple (Hari Parbat) in Kashmir. During this festival, the matriarch of each Kashmiri Brahmin family swings a goat's lung by its windpipe over her head and launches it into the sky from the highest point on the hill. They do this in the hopes that one of the hundreds of gigantic golden eagles,, which represent the goddess, will swoop down and grab the lung.,
    It is incredible how similar the ancient Norse religion is to Hinduism, especially the Hinduism practiced in the pre-Islamic era, some 1500 years ago.
    P.S. Norse and Hindu Gods are as real or as mythic as the Chrisitan and Islamic God.

There will be no sun. The climate change will go like that I think we have to release Fenrir. My dark jokes again. Sadly there is no elves from LoTR😢. I don't fear global warming. I do fear geo engineering. (It's a thing. Many govs now admit to it). I'm a Thor'swoman myself and hope to get to Uppsala next year. My last personal sacrifice to Thor was my favourite sword...I was a field archaeologist and Viking Age reenactor. The sword is still "planted" in the soil in a woodland in Ireland. I have a feeling that for a sacrifice to mean anything, something of worth must be given, otherwise where is the actual sacrifice? But that is simply my opinion. These folks look like they had fun, and I admire anything that brings people together in friendship. I do, though, often wonder if the Gods who knew our Ancestors look at us today and wonder what happened...;)

    • @ThreeStarVagabond
      @ThreeStarVagabond  Рік тому +2

      That's a very good point - a sacrifice does actually have to be worth something to make a difference. Many of the people attending this blot only gave symbolic offerings, but I still love the feeling of camaraderie that they displayed. The social aspect is very nice! But yeah.. Haha... This probably has nothing at all to do with the ancient people, in reality :D

  • @magnusdahlgren3461
    @magnusdahlgren3461 25 днів тому

    Well, there is actually a "right" way to offer sacrifice, and "a wrong way."
    We only need to look back at the sources, and read about how they, themself, thought about it.
    For example a newly converted norwegian king-wannabe had to eat the meat from the holy sacrificed horse, in order to prove his devotion to the ancient way of life, and his connection with the "Powers of the land."
    Thats how important it was to, not only perform sacrifices, but also to sacrifice the "right power animal" and to also eat of its flesh.
    Especially important task for someone who wanted to be the king over them all - he must show how he was a living link to the ancients, to preserve the connection with the land.
    "Symbolic sacrifices" isn't something that can be viewed as "theological right". The ancients would never had accepted it. They would have viewed it as a mockery of their beliefs.
    Anyways, I dont understand why it has became so "forbidden" in present day recreations groups. Since most are eating meat from slaughtered animals anyways.
    Isnt "symbolical sacrifice" a Christian Concept anyways?
    Why does christian believers trying to recreate an ancient pre-christian religion anyway?
    Come on, there is a reason why every attempt at recreating this religion always has ended with failure - because of lack of real sacrifices.
    It isn't that hard to understand.
    The old viking were no Flower Power Hippies exactly. And they didn't plays their belief system. They lived it to the fullest.
    Why not try to recreate it as it was intended to be like?
    Maybe it would succeed, right? Who knows.
    I have been a vegetarian for 30 years now, and I would accept animal sacrifice if done properly, within a sane theological framework.
    It would even be ok it only the officiating "priests" and the appointed chief took part in the sacrifice, and the rest were just bystanders. As long as the Gods, the Powers, were treated with Dignity and respect, and given a valuable offering (a living being, since life is important), and not some weed that you just picked up from the ground.
    If you take it seriously, you will behave accordingly. And vice versa.

      @ThreeStarVagabond Calling me a weird cultist is an ad homenim fallacy. I thought Swedish people were supposed to be tolerant and open to other ideas. Funny that you accuse me of being a weird cultist, while attending a weird cult!

      @@michaelferman3893 You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer are you? I'm atheist and I don't believe in neither spirits nor gods. These people were open about telling their story - but you come here spewing religious intolerance. There are wonderful Christians (and people of all other religions) in the world, but you are not one of them. Go preach your vitriol to your cultist friends instead.

    Looks like it's time to send out the missionaries again.

    This is sad it is a bunch of edgy basement people who have lost meaning since the dissolving of family, God, community, and provision from the efforts of your hands and now they dance around in medieval fair costumes and put vegetables next to Nomes to find meaning and validation. Sad.

      I see a lot of family, Gods and community there, in Its most authentic form, their own ways, their own people, their own religion.

      Sad is when some modernized tool of the lost cause society doesn't have the mental capacity to appreciate the wonderment and positivity of what was happening in Uppsala. Might feel better if you have a Starbucks. Or a Bud lite.

      Not being able to spell "gnomes" is also pretty sad.

      Your "God" doesn't need to be "dissolved". To many, he has always been meaningless and void of real cultural and spiritual substance, and thankfully, people can look for something else, something better. Let people be.

      As a Swede I only learned English in school. Yet I would never misspell a word like 'gnome'.
