A Prayer for First Thing in the Morning:

Good morning, Lord!
Thank You for a new day. Thank You that Your compassion is renewed every morning. Great is Your faithfulness and Your steadfast love, O Lord!
I don’t know what all is going to happen today, and how much I’ll get done, but You do.
So I give this day to You.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, Father. Energize me for Your work, because You know how tired these bones are. Awaken me to the wonder of Your salvation, and quicken my spirit to the reality of Your work in my life.
Lord, my mind is filled with creative ideas, but they’re all jumbled. Holy Spirit, come and hover over my mind like You hovered over the waters at creation and speak order out of the chaos! Help me to cease striving and to trust that You will give me all I need today to do the work You’ve given me to do.
You will be faithful to complete the good work You’ve started, and as I step out into my day, I declare Your sovereignty over every area of my life. I entrust myself to You and ask that You use me however You see fit.
This day is Yours. My body is Yours. My mind is Yours. Everything I am is Yours.
May You be pleased with me today.

But He also provided a way to be reconciled to Him, and that is through the sacrifice of His only Son Jesus Christ on the cross. Many of the short prayers on youtube have hints of abuse, not good enough, God come whip me if needed tones to them. What a horrible witness to those struggling or to an unbelieving world. Why are christians so small minded and abusive thinking. Why do people need to call themselves names in order to please God. A special thanks to the person who uploaded this simple prayer for leaving things like that out and keeping it positive.

@@drServitis if a person has the type of heart that's able to neglect their child... then their belief system (in this case a twisted version of Santa Claus) was only serving as excuse to do so. If you don't believe in a higher power, why are you giving it enough credit to influence a person's heart? Religion & belief systems ,in general, aren't the cause of:
hate, discrimination, judgement, abuse, ignorance.
Rather, it is those very qualities, themselves, that drive a person to use religion as an excuse. Remove religion, and those same people will flock to something else & justify their actions. If a belief system doesn't influence others in such a way... then why do I subscribe to one? Because, those negative attributes I listed... which are the root cause of 99% of the world's problems...are inherent to the human condition (every race, nationality, class, IQ, is capable of evil)
To understand God through their interpretation of Him, is a ludicrous endeavor. That's actually what the Bible teaches. It starts off in Genesis by describing a loving God who took 2 human beings.. which had every advantage to make the right choice. And, none of the inherent disadvantages the rest of us have since been born into :
Bad upbringing, physical/ mental/ emotional/ financial infirmities, & logical & reasonable doubt in God (Yes, our doubt is very logical, and poses the greatest hindrance to our faith.). These 2 people had every advantage [their judgement wasn't clouded by mental/emotional issues. They had perfectly healthy bodies. Stood in His direct presence and therefore didn't have the luxury to refute His existence, etc.] & ability to obey a loving, good creator. But, they disobeyed. They were _expected_ to disobey. I have a belief as to why they did & what made it necessary...but this is already too long...so for reasons of brevity we'll put that aside for now. The point is, they had everything _but_ faith. Now, the reverse is true. While we lack all those other advantages... the one thing we're given to bridge our relationship with God _is_ faith. It is the one thing we give of ourselves. God allows just as much room for doubt as He does faith because faith is a choice. It wouldn't be Faith otherwise. So, no, I can't justify or logisticize faith. But, I can say that pointing to fallible, imperfect, sin-prone human beings only further confirms my need & faith in God.
