I am from germany and Jay Jay played from 92 - 96 with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. He was the most artistic and at the same time the most elegant player I have ever seen. A real magician....
You are right, I saw him for the first time on tv during the 1998 World Cup and he was amazing. I think many people don't know about Okocha, many African players know the art of dribbling but, not as good in scoring like the European players or South American players, and the fact that African teams never won the world cup doesn't help them either.
I remember his first game with PSG, he started on the banch. He entered the game in the second half, on one of his first touch he started to run from the midfield, one or two dribles, a sudden and powerful shot from 30m for a fantastic goal. Everybody loved him already.
Okocha was a phenomenon, one of the greatest creative midfielder to have come out of Nigeria and Africa. To date we are still looking for another Okocha in Nigeria.
He invented skills and use them perfectly on the pitch. He’s such a genius. He didn’t go for big clubs and he’s known for playing against bigger teams. Respect Jay Jay 😢
When football was still about entertainment and passion. I remember watching the African Nations Cup Final in 2000 (Nigeria vs Cameroon). Cameroon was leading 2-1 and Okocha scored one of the greatest goals I've ever watched in my life for the equaliser (2-2). As a 13 years old Cameroonian supporter, I almost developed high blood pressure that day because of Okocha. Though Cameroon had a very good squard with players like, Patrick Mboma, Rigobert Song, Marc-Vivian Foe, Samuel Eto'o, etc Okacha was the King; he was just phenomenal. He was a world class player!
I watched the game with my family, I was also 13. The whole house erupted after that left foot screamer. Wonderful player to watch. Right now the game is more about systems.
That's the last goal here on this clip,as a Nigerian...we ran to the streets,we would eventually loose that match on penalties with a dubious call on Victor lkpebas penalty...but,we were happy with the team, they gave their all.
I support Liverpool all my life, but this man made me like Bolton cause he was just so unbelievable with the ball. I had never seen anyone do that in the Premier League in the 90s. Even till today, not many skilful players attempts these moves because they will fail, Okocha had that confidence and self belief in his ability. He had a special connection with the ball like no other player. I don't care if Messi is the GOAT, this man made football soo entertaining to watch.

Okocha, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo (not CR7), and few others made that happened for me, and once the exited the stage, it became boring for me to watch football. he is the only player in the history of football that you cannot mark out of play either as a dm, cm, cam, rw, or lw even as a striker...........he made tremendous stable impact in every team he's played. comes with new stuff everytime on pitch and is never afraid to take risks. from qatar to germany to france and finally england. he was an inventive phenomenon and extremely versatile . ronaldinho, kaka, messi, ibra, suarez and all the big names have been marked out of the field of play childishly..........but this guy is a rare gem... his presence alone excites fans. imagaine fans coming to pay to watch him trainat reebok stadium......he stands steady to dribble anybody and infact the only player that does not speed dribble. he faces you messes you up with ease and he did that to all best players in his prime. he square plays like no other...both foot feint players were rare those days and finally note also that racism is extremely terrible in his days of play.
Lol are you dumb or what. Cruyff messi ronaldinho zidane. absolutely not. He is absolutely one of the greatest dribbleis football history but greatest football ever absolutely not even close

How do the players Okocha abuses on the field go back home and look at at their kids? How do you even explain the humiliation to your children after the game? Okocha was just in another world ahead of everyone. What a bag of tricks he had in possession.
Where the children ask “Dad what were you doing on the turf after the brutal dribble from okocha” Dad replies, “ I was looking for your school fees to pay”

he is the only player in the history of football that you cannot mark out of play either as a dm, cm, cam, rw, or lw even as a striker...........he made tremendous stable impact in every team he's played. comes with new stuff everytime on pitch and is never afraid to take risks. from qatar to germany to france and finally england. he was an inventive phenomenon and extremely versatile . ronaldinho, kaka, messi, ibra, suarez and all the big names have been marked out of the field of play childishly..........but this guy is a rare gem... his presence alone excites fans. imagaine fans coming to pay to watch him trainat reebok stadium......he stands steady to dribble anybody and infact the only player that does not speed dribble. he faces you messes you up with ease and he did that to all best players in his prime. he square plays like no other...both foot feint players were rare those days and finally note also that racism is extremely terrible in his days of play.
Very true. Pure Skills at work
Best comment I have seen so far , you thoroughly know jay jay
This was real a blessing, i have never seen such a prayer in this world, it was like a miracle
One of the most underatted legend in soccer.
The great Jay Jay is always a beauty to watch.... May God bless us with another player like him oooo
Jay jay is everything in football you will forget your sorrows watching him
He's up there with the greatest of all time. He should be mentioned in the same sentence as Zidane, Cruyff, Ronaldino, Messi, etc.
Lol are you dumb or what. Cruyff messi ronaldinho zidane. absolutely not. He is absolutely one of the greatest dribbleis football history but greatest football ever absolutely not even close
Note white don't like African because we black
@@dannyhustle2599 Get your head out of your ass. Okocha is really underrated.
He isnt the greatest of all time, but he was still a damn special player and was criminally underrated. Although he is not in the same league as the likes of Messi and Ronaldo
At least he should be mentioned alongside Beckham, Luis Figo, Totti, Del Piero but for God sakes not Messi and Zidanne.
JJ Okocha was the player that introduced" leg over " style of dribbling to football and that was why RONALDINHO has to learn from him. Great player 👏
My childhood idol...!
I used to try his tricks in my team, they even nicknamed me because of some of the crazy shit I would pull off..
Huge fan 😍
He must've been sentenced a long time ago for degrading human dignity with his phenomal dribbling and vicious shooting. :D
ecykixx completely degrading and disrespectful to his opponents, he shows no mercy and I love it.

Jay Jay. He stands by to dribble. He doesn't just run off to dribble. He 'sits' calmly like he's in his living room and messes u up. I remember watching '94 world cup qualifiers. We just want the ball to come to him to be entertained. The cheers from the spectators say it all. It was magical!! Jay Jay!!!! Nothing like this anymore. It's all kick and follow all thru 90 mins these days.
Better than Christiano and merci better than nerma and mbappe
One of the most techically gifted players ever. Mr. Fantasy
Jay Jay one of the best African player in German history, lch wunche dir alles gute, Gesundheit Bro
Ja ja ja
Dir auch
Ich glaube, dass er gleich dir wünschst. Ich auch, magst Gerd Müller ,der Bomber des Deutsches.
Jay Jay Ockocha and Ronaldinho are the two best players ever. Most elegant and artistic to play the game.
Because he didnt play for Brazil or Real or Barca he didnt get the credit or recognition he deserves.
Fifa should honour Okocha in a special way.Jay jay was/is one of the greatest footballers i have ever seen.
True. He is the most skilful player in the history of the game.
One of my favourite players ever! Greetings from 🇭🇷

The most skillful African player of all time.
The most skilful player of all time.
Still learning from him just by his videos you really can learn from his skills! Absolutely talented and inspiring!
Grande okocha entre los mejores de la historia
Esse cara é o único que eu vi que dançava em campo kkk o cara era um show
We appreciate your originality Jay Jay Okocha. Absolutely confident with the ball in his feet. He knew he could dribble everybody on the field and believed in his abilities and capabilities
Tenía un estilo similar a Ronaldinho, la historia no le ha dado su lugar!!! Un crack
Genius. Unbelievable that he didnt play for one of the top 6 teams in EPL.
Is it really? Especially at that time?
If football is a war he would have won many battles without a sword. Professor of football
He is indeed a genius...... For the generation to come, there lived a king of dribble, skills, free kicks and spectacular goals from the black part of the world Nigeria..... Called Jay Jay Okocha..... He represent the best
My favourite African player of all time, such a wonderful natural talent, he played with such freedom and joy.
Jay-Jay Okocha...Ronaldinho...they make football incredibly joyous and fun
How do the players Okocha abuses on the field go back home and look at at their kids? How do you even explain the humiliation to your children after the game?
Okocha was just in another world ahead of everyone. What a bag of tricks he had in possession.
Where the children ask “Dad what were you doing on the turf after the brutal dribble from okocha”
Dad replies, “ I was looking for your school fees to pay”
there is no another jay jay okocha now days. respect okocha.
The Master! It's beyond me that he doesn't get the mentions alongside Henry, Bergkamp, Cantona, Zola etc as among the greatest foreign players to grace the Prem.
Wow..Superhuman..!!! Jay jay deserved all awards but they never gave it to him. We know he deserved it all but they kept playing politics and racism against him.
He finessed Keane with light feet but most impressively with “elegance”
I stopped watching football when he quit. Nothing interesting watching football without seeing him in the pitch. He is my Best!!!
