Very useful informative article. Irrespective of religion, Aljahiz tried to unveil the secret of nature, as it is done in any natural phenomena. He has to be remembered as pioneer in the theory of evolution.

Thank you for making a video about it. But tbf, your title is misleading. He didn't propose the theory of evolution, he just unravelled the secret of nature and suggested that evolution is a thing. And, his idea was more or less like Lamarck and it only took the genius of Darwin to consummate it.
Anyway, Al-Jahiz's ideas do deserve a mention in the biology textbooks.

'Transition' is different from 'Evolution'! So far as 'Adaptation' is concerned it does make sense that a creature can adapt to its environment BUT transforming to a totally new creature is impossible. The concept of evolution fails to qualify the 'Time Constrained Problem' and therefore has been replaced with the concept of 'Intelligent Design' i.e. there is a creator! However how a creator creates is still not completely known BUT secret lies in the DNA! Hopefully science will be able to unlock more secrets of the origin of life.
Noone in the scietific cimmunity takes "Intelligent design" seriously. Even if the theory of evolution has holes in it, its better then the fairy tales that religions provide. Adam and Eve? seriously?

Important is they don't say Christian Darwin, but Muslims always say Muslim scientist; in my humble opinion scientist is just a scientist; he is, whether Christian or Muslim. As far as i am aware muslim scholars only pointed towards evolution which is consistent with the dynamic view of universe of the era which is ever expanding and been created afresh at each moment.
Theory of Evolution is a myth, an assumption and not a proved Scientific fact. French scientist and past President of the Academie des Sciences Pierre-Paul Grassé has said "Today our duty is to destroy the myth of evolution, considered as a simple, understood, and explained phenomenon which keeps rapidly unfolding before us" Grassé, Pierre-Paul, 1977, Evolution of Living Organisms, Academic Press, New York, NY, pg. 8
