your videos are so fun to watch whether you are being productive or chilling just the way you talk to us like we are there with you keeps me coming back! The verses you put at the end of your videos also encourages me and I love how you share your love for God❤️
I totally get what you said about longing to Australia. In Portuguese we have a word that describe that feeling. It is called saudade. It means it’s a feeling of longing, melancholy, nostalgia. It is stronger than just missing something. It is like a piece of your heart/soul is somewhere else or with someone. And you can’t feel complete if you are not there and with that person. That is what saudade means. My family lives in Brazilian and I live across the world in The Netherlands. I miss them everyday. I even have it tattooed (very small) for my beautiful grand ma when she past away. I couldn’t go to Brazil, because of Covid. So now she will always have a piece of my heart. Saudade.
Can we talk about how much Jess is glowing. I'm so happy her mood is much better, she can travel home more often, her baby makes her smile... She's certainly joyful
The efforts you put on every single vlog/video of yours is so appreciated. You’re my favourite UA-camr of all time. The calm soothing yet somewhat chaotic vlog makes any day a lot better. ❤️
Feels so good following someone I can relate to. I left my home and family in Ukraine because of war and moved to London, where my boyfriend lives. I know that it’s for my own good but can’t help feeling homesick especially since I’ve always been very close with my family. My boyfriend is so supportive and I feel bad that he has to deal with me😅 Your video made my day so much better ❤️
As an Australian who lives in America, it’s just really nice to have people that you can talk about your home with and get it. I love having Aussie friends, I just wish there was more Aussie cafes in San Francisco!
@@benjamingygi3327 I am in the US, and it's no secret we have a massive array of foods available and I am not just talking about fast food. So many people immigrated here from different countries over the last century and brought with them their culture, food, and traditions. Then you have the southern states in the US which do BBQ like ribs, brisket, and so on and each each region of the south has their own BBQ sauce with distinctive flavors. Then you have US states that are known for different kinds of produce. California is well known for wine that is grown in California Vineyards, Florida is known for Oranges, Georgia is known for Peaches, and Hawaii of course you can go feast on some of the freshest Coconuts and Pineapple.
Wow, Jessie! This was one of my favourite vlogs. I didn't want it to end! It is a blessing to have/watch/follow someone I can relate to. From leaving my family in South Africa for my hubby's work in Bermuda to bullet journaling, scrapbooking, simplifying life, following Christ, being shy... I adore your channel and content. It brings me peace and joy. The Conte's have really been my one consistent thing since Uni (2017). Please keep sharing your scrapbook and bullet journal progress. I love having a journal girlie in you. Ps. Your guided journal arrives on island soonsies. Can’t wait.
Jess, you are so accurate! My daughter and her husband have moved to Nashville, after visiting there just recently can’t get over how much it felt a lot like Brisbane. So many churches too! They are pastoring Citipointe Church with another Australian couple and loving it. Jos would say the same about your pros and cons too. Miss them like crazy as I’m sure your mum does too but grateful to be able to visit a beautiful country with so much opportunity.
Jess you never cease to inspire me 💖 the Lord has used and will continue to use you in mighty ways!! Your daughter is so blessed to have you and Gabe as her parents :) love you!!
you have no idea how big of a motivation you are for me, i've been following you and gabe since before the engagement and i seriously have such an attachement to you guys♥ my boyfriend and i are doing long distance america-europe for going on three years now and we're both in our own unis waiting to get our degrees, every time it gets hard i look at you three and see a glimpse of what my life can look like in just a few years if i keep going strong. I love you guys♥
I have a 1.5 year old and am an Aussie living in Oregon! Have not been back to Australia since I moved in December of 2016. I feel you on a lot of those pros and cons. Having a child definitely makes things so much harder. I'm so sad my daughter has never met my family, but I also love the life we have in the states.
I find it hard to write words sometimes so I’ve started a visual journal, cutting from magazines, my own drawings, pictures, dried flowers. And it’s so therapeutic. I only do it month by month so it’s not so overwhelming. I’ve got a fitness log, goals for the month and year. So far I love it,
Jess, I love that when I watch your videos I take mental notes and make my own goals. You’re more than just entertainment, you’re a teacher as well. As a fellow religious mom I very much share similar values as you. Keep ur momentum going, ur a special girl❤
I moved to America in 2019 than I came back home in 2021 and now I want to go back to America lol I saw somewhere that once you leave your home you’ll never feel home again and this is so true because I want a mix of both places and this is impossible so I just like to think that I belong everywhere in the world haha “Home it’s where the heart is”. Love your content Jess 💖
I just moved to America from Canada this month for school and I have been experiencing a lot of homesickness. It's so nice to know that homesickness is normal and I am not the only one going through it 🤍
I feel like you have a strong aussie community in nashville so its bittersweet because you have a sense of home where you live! As for journaling, you can get intimidated by how others do it and you get inspired but your perfectionist side comes out and its not what you expect so you either scrape or redo the whole thing again. Trust me, its been …5 journals so far?
Awww Loved every minute of this video Jess! It’s so sweet the Lord confirming Nashville for you and that you meet more Aussie’s. I’m so glad you both enjoy it! Happy for you!! 💛💛
Your videos are so comforting to me. Especially when I am having a hard day getting out of bed. Been following you since the beginning and have never stopped! I appreciate you🥰
The Hells Angels, the Comanchero motorcycle club and the Aussie Cartel heads are having talks while you are reading this about their growth in Australia and in Asia. Exterminating The Yakuza presence and their activities in the country would be considerably profitable for the Hells Angels, the Comanchero motorcycle club and the Aussie Cartel. The goal is to initiate their expansion over the Yakuza in Australia and to push it as far as in Japan. According to their plans, they are and will be supported by the Sinaloa Cartel for a part of the gains obtained and it would be done by the end of 2023. They told their mens to prioritize the capture, mostly for torture and interrogation before killing and for selling but to kill right away if they can not capture. This is what members having close ties with Hells Angels chapter leaders are talking about. Some members of the Hells Angels and of the Sinaloa Cartel had already start moving to Australia. The mens had been told to get the job done by any means, even by mass killing if needed. If you are directly involved let your comrades know so you can be prepared for what is happening before it is too late to prevent the bloodbath and your fall!
I love how you were talking about how God answered your prayers about living in Nashville. It goes to show that God cares about the biggest details and even the little ones too. He is in the details and it’s so beautiful. I think it’s so neat how you notice that there are a lot of Australian people in Nashville and that Australian cafe that is there too! That is totally God answering your prayers. He cares for all things! I just love that! 💛
The fact that you're describing the biggest desire and longing of your heart as something "small" is just...ah our Lord is so caring and sweet. Glory to Him for this
I’ve been living in Cali for four years. Workplace culture is definitely different to Australia. People are more serious and up tight . I didn’t realise how laid back we are.
i’m so grateful to have been watching your journey since the very first video. i’m so beyond happy for you & this life you’ve developed. love u guys so much , thank you for sharing ur stories & feeling comfortable to do so
I can totally relate. Moved from Australia to South Africa ten years ago and if I’m honest I miss it every day. Your feelings are valid and just take every day step by step on the days you miss home. ❤
Thank you for this video! I moved to a new country this year and it is being way more difficult that I thought! I feel homesick specially by night So thank you for this little virtual hug in form of a video I also bought Gab’s book but waited to get here to read it, so far is amazing!
This was such a cute vlog! I am so happy to see and hear how far you have come! Moving away from family is tough. I got married this June and now live a few hours away from my family. This is nothing compared to the distance you have but I understand a little bit of your struggle. Praying God continues to grow your love for Nashville and your Aussie community!
in love with this series! just watched it as a calm sunday night podcast while journaling myself and you're just so calming. the bible verse in the end really suited to my situation right now and was just what I needed to hear. thank you jess❤
Jess it's so interesting that you're talking about homesick just now... I'm from Italy and six and a half years ago I moved to Scotland. Obviously it's not as much of a distance but I keep saying "I just wish Scotland was an hour away from my hometown in Italy". I moved for university and work opportunities, and I love what Scotland has to offer, but every day I miss home and I feel like I'm always looking forward to going home. I feel like I'll always be longing, it was refreshing and comforting hearing you say that too
I LOOVE longer videos of your. There’s something in your voice, the way of speaking or maybe just your personality that makes me feel extremely motivated and inspired. Thank you for that ❤️ have a great rest of the week 🥰
I just wanted to say we have loved seeing how far you have come from where you were 6 years ago. As an Australian from the little Central Coast just north of Sydney, I couldn't imagine moving to the US and starting a new life! I'm so damn proud of you
I could lol, my parents love Sydney however I miss my old place in Colorado, just went back to LA and I feel you get better bang for buck for a US property
I too live across the ocean from my home country and what helps me stay connected and not homesick is by staying in contact with my friends that live in my country and staying connected with my culture (food, tv shows, songs, people that inspire from there) and also having friends from there where I currently live, we get together and have like home cooked traditional food, celebrate our holidays etc...💗😊
the car chat was absolutely insane for me!! I’ve been watching you since before you married gabe and moved from australia to america and now, a few weeks ago, i got married and moved from my room in my parents house in canada to australia with my husband. definitely missing my family so much but seeing how you’re so close to your family and are still doing great is making me feel so much better!!
Love love love this thank you for sharing your feelings on moving away from home. I’m Aussie and planning on moving to Canada so seeing and hearing others speak about their experience moving away comforts my anxiety a little bit
Good morning Jess! Thank you for always being such an inspiration to me! Your clogs are always so inspiring, aesthetically pleasing, and encouraging! I have also loved journaling in your guided journal! Safe to say you did an excellent job at making it! I love how you are so authentic to yourself and do whatever your heart desires! You are also such an amazing mum to Makaiah and an amazing wife to Gabe! Much love to your small but growing family! Ilysm
When you mentioned simplicity I got SO excited!! I’m doing a school / program through my church and we’re currently reading a book called Celebration of Discipline! It’s been so helpful and there’s a whole chapter focusing on simplicity 🥰
After everything that you and your family have been through in terms of your residency getting your green card and the pandemic you guys have truly been through it all. You never went through that journey alone as God was right by your side. So blessed and happy that now in 2023 everything it's slowly getting back getting back to normal and you got the ability to travel in and out of the u.s..
Your video on 'My Thoughts on Moving to America from Australia... 6 Years Later' is truly captivating! It's fascinating to hear about your personal journey and reflections on living in America for six years. Your insights and experiences shed light on the joys, challenges, and growth that come with such a significant life change. Thanks for sharing your story and providing a glimpse into your unique perspective. Keep sharing your journey and inspiring others with your experiences!
I think that it's so cool to just have these chats it when you do these just by yourself and I think that it's super awesome that you have been in America for six years it's still interesting to sometimes just kind of you know reminisce and and look back on things and see what you did see what you did better you can do in the future and I think that's awesome
Hey Jess! I also just moved to Nashville TN a few months ago with my family from New York! I enjoy watching your videos and I hope 2023 is a great one for you and your family🙏😊
I honestly want to move to America one day, I’ve never seen snow in my life, the wildlife sounds beautiful, sounds magical there, i know America isn’t great but Australia isn’t great either
I moved to the US a little over a year ago to study for college. today I was feeling homesick, then I opened youtube and this was the first video in my notifications
Well, I’m an Indian teen living in the USA and I really love to move to your home country at 18 and enjoy life there and have a family there and you film a lot of good videos like how you help others parent their children as a foreigner living in the U.S. I really have a good Aussie accent!
I relate to your ramble so much, My husband and I live in Germany but are from two different countries, with now having our precious little girl it is making it even harder to be away from our families and the things we miss from home are always strong. We just have never felt at home here and we definitely have gone through the pros and cons list of all our country options but whos knows where we will be in a year or so.
Omg my mum came from Pakistan to canada over 20 years ago, hving no idea she would move here. she feels the same way as you. Esp with missing her family. She took me to pakistan a couple of years ago and the food is wayyyy better and fresher as u mentioned with Australia. Lots of delicious choices. Mom loves canada too tho it's her home. You should read or watch Brooklyn in case you havent! I think youll love it and relate to it as an immigrant who has 2 places you call home.
Aww Jess this is such a sweet video 💗 I can’t imagine how hard it is for you to be far from your family but God blessed with your family you have here which is your husband and precious little baby.. God bless you
Hello, I remember seeing both of you at Denver airport and you guys were on the way to Florida at the time… you are so beautiful and both of you are an amazing couple, I cannot wait to see more of your guys content and see how your family grows as the time passes… I hope you can travel to and from Australia more often and be able to have more family time… since my mother got sick and passed away a few years back, I have always had regrets of my mother being closer to my kids. My mom was my backbone and my life, you cannot take time back. please don’t allow yourself to make the same mistakes I have made and have regrets of allowing so much time to pass… God bless and may he be allowed to bless you and all you love… God is always good!!!
ALSO: My fiancé and I will be going to Nashville in April, do you have any Aussie cafe recommendations that I could take him to while he is visiting? 💝💝💝
It's funny and cute how I start playing your videos, thinking it's Jess who just moved to America and is making life here with Gabe and then you mention Makaiah, and I'm like OHHH IT'S JESS THE MOMMY now😄 We've come such a long way and I know you make it seem easy on the camera but you've been really trying and discovering a better way to life, each day. I feel proud of you and I'm glad that we're acquaintance Jess💛🫂
Sending you so much love Jess! I feel like Aussie’s in Tennessee is so random but I know in my heart that it’s the lords way of telling you that you are in the right place. 🤍
I would looove to see a video about your scrapbooking process!! it seems so fun and the results look so cute but i don’t know where to start! 😂😂 love the knee camera quality btw
I totally loved this vlog. It gave me peace♡ love u jess and love your journal too! It was delivered to Costa Rica in one of my hardest days emotionally speaking and ever since, Ive been loving it! Thank you♡
I related to this so much! I’ve been in America since august 2022 and felt my first spout of homesickness last week and I feel this is such an accurate representation of Aussie 🇦🇺
Being a mom, Jess it’s your best Era. I love how you keep talking about your beautiful daughter and how much you’re so excited to journey with her. It’s beautiful, bless your heart.

Yep! I’m an Aussie moving to Canada next month and SO nervous to leave everyone but also will be such an adventure 🥲
right off the bat, love the intro to this vid!! so cute 🥰
Oh my god, you are such an amazing person. Watching your vlogs is so relaxing.
And yes, your camera quality is super>>
I don't know why but your videos always feel like i'm sat having a chit chat with my friends!
that means so much 🥲
I love how you share about Jesus. It’s such a comfort for me to see UA-camrs out there that are not ashamed to share the gospel. Much love 💕🤎💡
Can relate as a South African in Canada! Been hear for 3 years but can never stop missing home
I feel you 💛💛
Good morning Jess!
My favorite part is that you finished your devo after babygirl fell asleep and then did everything else on your check list. 🥰
12:52 I love your little reading updates! These books are great! Couldn´t put them down and read all three in like a few days
Thank you for posting this! I’m from Singapore & have been in America since 2017. There are so many things I miss about Singapore too 🥹❤️
After everything that you and your family have been through in terms of your residency getting your green card and the pandemic you guys have truly been through it all. You never went through that journey alone as God was right by your side. So blessed and happy that now in 2023 everything it's slowly getting back getting back to normal and you got the ability to travel in and out of the u.s..
Love your content! God bless you always Jess and Gabe ♡
Your video on 'My Thoughts on Moving to America from Australia... 6 Years Later' is truly captivating!
Love your videos been watching you and gabe both together and individually since 2015
I feel the exact same I moved from Australia to Chile when I was 14 it’s been almost 10 years and I still miss it everyday 😢❤
The quality of the image/camera is just wow!
I’m planning to move from Australia to USA as well because of my partner, watching this feels so reassuring to me
You get the best of both worlds, placing Nashville in Aussie, then you rock out the show. ❤️
I honestly want to move to America one day, I’ve never seen snow in my life, the wildlife sounds beautiful, sounds magical there, i know America isn’t great but Australia isn’t great either
austraoia worse taxes a hell
I moved to the US a little over a year ago to study for college. today I was feeling homesick, then I opened youtube and this was the first video in my notifications
Well, I’m an Indian teen living in the USA and I really love to move to your home country at 18 and enjoy life there and have a family there and you film a lot of good videos like how you help others parent their children as a foreigner living in the U.S. I really have a good Aussie accent!
It's so relaxing to just sit back and watch your vlogs. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me! Keep up the good work.
Video quality with the new camera is amazing!! 🤗
The quality of the new camera is chef kiss😘😌
I am marrying an Aussie in August and moving there from America! So excited but this video was super great to hear your perspective (: thank you!

The camera quality is amazing! It definitely didn't go unnoticed. 💕
It's funny and cute how I start playing your videos, thinking it's Jess who just moved to America and is making life here with Gabe and then you mention Makaiah, and I'm like OHHH IT'S JESS THE MOMMY now😄

My mom moved from Turkey to Germany 31 years ago and honestly - if she spoke English this would probably resonate with her so much.

I used a Rocketbook Fusion in school and it was so helpful to consolidate my notes! Sustainable and intuitive.
I related to this so much! I’ve been in America since august 2022 and felt my first spout of homesickness last week and I feel this is such an accurate representation of Aussie 🇦🇺
